Rating: Summary: Gotta Love Zedd.... Review: From the first book of the series, I grew to love Zedd's all knowing but secretive way of getting things done. The first book left me with such craving that I happily devoured the next two in the series. "Blood of the Fold" left me histerical. I loved the fact that Adie, a nearly 1000 year old prelate, is being duped by Zedd. All the tricks and turns that go on just had me up all night and the next day cause I just couldn't stop reading. This book, to me, had a bit of comedy, mushy love, great heroics, and misguided adventures.
Rating: Summary: Well all I have to say is that this book...rules! Review: I have read all 4 books of this series so far and I have loved everyone of them. The fact that everyone in this series starts out very simple and lots of secrets are kept then later on they become much much more. This book is worth your time so you should definetly read it!
Rating: Summary: The James Bond of fantasy series... Review: Think about it, Richard Rahl is James Bond. He somehow manages to be at the center of every world-breaking conflict. He gets lusted after by every woman he meets. He brilliantly deduces solutions to everything just in time, but remains oblivious to the most obvious clues until they get him in big trouble. He's threatened in ways no human could ever hope to survive, but somehow he does. We know who the villains are long before he does. We know everything will be saved in the end, we only don't know how. The only difference is that Richard remains unable to use the (magical) resources he has, probably because there wouldn't be as many plot opportunites if he had a clue what he was doing. Zedd is Q, the wiser character who can only guide. (Although he hardly gets a chance; you wish the world would stop being threatened with absolute evil every other week, just so he'd have time to teach Richard even the most basic things.) Sure it's not perfect. Richard and Kahlan still sound like they're stuck in a bad Celine Dion song with their constant pledges of devotion to each other. But if you can skip past that, there's a highly entertaining story to be found. Maybe not something for everyone, but a fantastic read nonetheless.
Rating: Summary: Terry Goodkind is the best! Review: I just want to write that every single book that Terry wrote was not based on fantasy but on real life facts specialy meditation! I love not only the Temple of Winds but all of his books and if it wasn't for his books I still would've been the same blind person living in a dark dead world! Tanxxxxxx Terry!
Rating: Summary: Where were the others? Review: 2 weeks ago I stumbled into the first book of this series - Wizard's First Rule - and I fell in love. Since then, I have read the first 4 books of the series, completing Temple of the Winds last night. Once started, I could not put down any of the books, but still missed various characters...Scarlet, Gratch, Chase and Rachel, Jebra the Seer....And what will happen with Nathan, Verna, Adie and others? I hope to see all of these characters in the following 2 books and definitely more of Zedd. He needs to teach Richard how to use his magic...(Maybe Nathan could help?)Love the books...looking forward to the next 2!
Rating: Summary: woah! what a book! Review: ok, when i first picked up the book and saw the cover i nearly died. why? coz i was waiting for this book for sooo long. this book is what i'll call a 'dark' era, coz it is not so light hearted as the first book.but i guess that it is very gripping and the introduction of Nadine and Drefan adds to the suspense. i was telling myself not to read too fast but the suspense just swept me away. oh boy, start and you'll not stop! happy reading!
Rating: Summary: Great book, but not his best. Review: I read all of Terry Goodkind's book up to this one. I didn't get a chance to read Soul of the Fire, but I hope I will. The fourth book in this series also made it hard for me to stop reading after I started. As conflict rises between Emperor Jagang and Richard, a plague starts in D'Hara. Richard must stop the plague unless he wants all of his people to die. He must go to the Temple of the Winds to solve the problem. A another great book in the series, but sometimes it was confusing.
Rating: Summary: Very gripping but very predictable Review: First of all i'd like to point out that i enjoyed this book as well as others of the series quite a bit. It is hard to put down, full of action... However, that does not mean i didn't see the things i rather disliked. For one thing, very predictable plot intrigue. The winds and all say that Richard and Kahlan have to marry others, yet we know that they are 'destined' to each other. S what's the simplest way to have them married to others and then be together again? Right , kill off the 'others'. Or at least maybe, a "fake marriage spell"? What has Zedd been doing all this time? All that was kind of strange. Two arguably most powerful magic persons get in all the ridiculous situations and all they accomplish is a small fire in a cave. A lot of stuff is severely unclear to me. The whole magic setup is too confusing and shrouded in mystery. By book 4, surely we could be given more insight on how it works. I never have an idea of whether the character is in big trouble or he/she is just going to wave his/her hand and let the Han take care of the problem. What i mean to say is that i have no idea of the relative power of the people involved nor of the absolute. On the positive side, the prophecies are more or less better explained, using a bit of "prophesiology" Anyways, this book is very entertaining and a good read, even though it has a number of drawbacks
Rating: Summary: Review number 316...or something... Review: Over 3 HUNDRED reviews! Whats the point, right? Well, I just have to put my 2 1/2 cents in. If I've read a book, then by God I'm gonna review it! Temple of the Winds is a very satisfying 4th installment in the very very good SOT series. This Book brings back everything we liked in the previous three novels (the love, the danger, magic, etc.), and is extremely difficult to put down. Goodkind continues to engross us with his masterful description, excellent characterization, and gratifying use of dialogue. It's all here folks. I would certainly recommend this to those of you not sure whether to continue shelling out the cash on the series after the (in some people's opinions)lackluster Blood of the Fold. Now book five on the other hand...talk about offensive...
Rating: Summary: It gets better and better Review: I have been reading Terry's books since I was in the 8th grade. I've read them all, and I keep anticapating his next one. I can't WAIT! I got hooked on the first six words of Wizard's First Rule. And I absoutly love these books. Good Job Terry! And keep on writing!
