Summary: ALL HAIL DISCORDIA!!!
Review: It is seldom that anything actually makes us think in the entertainment industry today, but this book not only makes you think, it also alters your perceptions of reality. The story is so sompletely intertwined with truth and fantasy that by the end you cannot discern where the fact ends and the fiction begins. The Illuminatus challenges the very fabric of modern society and suggests alternate realities that are at times frightening, humorous and all too plausable. It is truly a modern masterpeice of American literature

Summary: Simply the best work of literature ever!!!
Review: The Illuminatus Trilogy transcends the fnord limits of all "normal" literature. It twists and warps the reality of the reader, any reader, in strange and unpredictable ways. This book is a trip. Literally. No other book contains so many earth-shaking ideas presented so engagingly. READ THIS BOOK!

Summary: free-wheeling, fast paced, and excellent
Review: Definitly one of the best books I've read. The charectors are great, the plot is...well, interesting, and the narrative engulfs you. Influenced by the 60's, weirdness, and paranoia. If you are interested in the least in any of those three, this book is a must read. It changed the way I see the world. Completely. It will change yours.

Summary: "If you're not confused by this, you didn't understand it"
Review:
This trilogy, draped around a psychedelic detective story of sorts, is an upset to most everything you thought you knew. A trip through conspiracy theory, Fortean phenomona and ontological explorations, The Illuminatus Trilogy will blow your mind if you pay attention.

The style is transparent most of the time, as is necessary for the full impact of this. If there is anything that detracts from this crazy, illuminating experience however, it is moments of self-indulgent or pedantic writing. These moments, mild as they are, demand an attention of their own which can break the continuity of the narrative.

As are all of Robert Anton Wilson's and Robert Shea's books, The Illuminatus Trilogy belongs on the required reading list of anyone interested in the art and study of comparitive realities.

Summary: The New Age Bible. Opens your heart and mind.
Review: REad this book or else!!!!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: This is a test
Review: This book is scientifically engineered to rewire your brain. It is a fictional walkthrough of Leary's Eight Circuits of consciousness and a living testament to the statement, "If you see the Buddha on the road. Kill him."
If you don't enjoy having someone challenge you mentally, go back to Grisham, and Clancey, this is not the book for you.

Summary: Mind is the traitor. Slay mind.
Review: First, let it be said that the Illuminatus! Trilogy is not an easy book for anyone to read unless they are familiar with the philosophy of Robert Anton Wilson. Anyone who wants to read this book should first read at the very least Prometheus Rising and Cosmic Trigger I beforehand. A familiarity with the concepts of Aleister Crowley, Georges Gurdjieff, Tim Leary, etc., would also be advisable. That said, here's the review.

The Illuminatus! Trilogy is a combination of philosophy, science, occultism, and obscure ideas that is unlike anything I have read before. It's also a wonderful combination of fact and fiction, so the wise reader will enter with a skeptical but open mind. I say skeptical because they should not BELIEVE any of the novel, but they should be open to ideas because the novel will appall them otherwise. I guess you could actually say that being skeptical but open is the whole point of RAW's philosophy.

The review from Rolling Stone on the page of reviews on the first page describes the novel as a "shaggy dog joke," and you won't really understand how true that is until you read the book. The basic storyline is the storyline that has been repeated throughout mythology and history: "good versus evil." Of course, being a RAW novel, sides get flipped and everybody seems to be a secret agent working for twenty four different conspiracies. It can basically be described as very funny and blasphemous in the best possible sense. Your basic view of "reality" will probably not survive this book.

And, as a word to the wise (or the foolish), don't buy the paperback version of Illuminatus! that is available these days. Get a hardback copy; an 800 page paperback gets destroyed fairly easily, as I've come to find out.

Summary: Immanentize the Eschaton in 2012!
Review: When I read this book, I couldn't put it down ,and it was a lot of laughs. Opened me up to a number of interesting mysteries such as Rennes le Chateau and the Priory, masons, and Theosophy (Blavatsky, Bailey,Creme). Although it seems to me that the Priory list of initiates was a modern hoax perpretrated by a french right wing loon and the rennes mystery was created by a local restaurant owner to pull in more tourists, I still had a riot reading this book. I don't think there is much evidence showing that the masons or rosicrucians existed in Egyptian culture and even less during the fabled Atlantis.
The book's ending has the same zooming out affect as in the ending of one of my favourite movies, "The Holy Mountain" by Alexandro Jodorowsky.
I recommend "Imaginary Landscape" by Terrence McKenna, a book which uses some higher math to graph the permutations of the I-Ching and aligns them with novelty events in history which then shows an apex or Eschaton on Dec. 21, 2012 just like the end of the Mayan Calender. It also theorizes about the possible mechanism of DMT (the active psychotropic chemical in Ayahuasca) and how it may act in brain neurons at the quantum level. DMT is produced naturally in the pineal gland so its like getting high on yourself.
I also recommend Benjamin Creme's books which talk about the coming out of the head of the secret chiefs or ascended masters talked about in theosophy books, namingly Maitreya the World Teacher and his imminent coming out with the rest of the ascended masters, "the externalization of the heirarchy".
This book has inspired me to set out on a mission to infiltrate the Shrine Circus and picket outside my local masonic lodge.
Fight the Numshub of Enki and the Shem of the jealous demiurge Ialdaboath!Master Jesus, please keep the Absolutists at bay!
Thank you Mr. Wilson!
