Summary: Believe!
Review: As I read the 'memos' (for thoes who have read this) I realized that some referenced materials discussed I actually had. Whoever reads this book, and attempts to verify any of the information in this tale must always keep in mind that only half of it is false. That is a fact.

Summary: The Sort of Junk That Gives Fantasy Fiction a Bad Name
Review: I can imagine a very creative person taking LSD and concocting a pointless shaggy dog story like The Illuminatus Trilogy. What I cannot comprehend is why the same person would not come to his senses after the trip was over and toss this ridiculous piece of garbage in the trash where it belongs.

In his non-fiction writings, co-author Wilson has revealed that he believes in at least some of the New Age, paranormal nonsense promoted by this irritating, asinine book.

Summary: You will never look at the world the same
Review: I was never to big a reader in high school. I was thoughtful and inquisitive, but I was always more interested in my friends synopses of books than I was in reading them myself. I had a great group of experimental, intellectual and artistic friends. The one book that was a constant topic of disscussion at that time was "The Illuminatus Trilogy." Many of my friends had read it and were constantly conversing about it. I had always been intimidated by it's size, and I don't read very fast. Later,I went to college, which forced me to read more. Slowly but surely, I began to take interest in books, and began to catch up on many of the catalystic books that, vicariously, helped to form my personality. My junior year of college I was studying art and art history in Florence, Italy. I had no homework from my classes, and no television. I had some good friends, but could only hang out with them so much. I told my friend Scott (the first of my friends to read the Illuminatus)to bring the book when he came to visit. We toured Europe for a while and then I returned to Florence for another semester. I picked up the Illuminatus, and some buds that I smuggled back to Florence from Amsterdam, and began to read. At first I found the text a bit confusing, but slowly I was able to get into it. I found myself entering a world that I never knew I lived in. I began to see so many things, that I had always taken for granted, for how they really were. I was so hooked that from the moment I would get home from class I would light a candle (electricity is very expensive over there), smoke a bud, and dig in. I found my mind expanding over the time I read. I began to recognize the ordinary more than I ever had before. It even had a great effect on my artistic process and my thoughts on art theory. I never made it through the last part of the trilogy because of other interests that had taken root at the time. It wasn't necessary for me to finish it though. It still managed to have a profound impact on my life, and now as I begin to partake of "Schrodinger's Cat Trilogy" (also by Robert Anton Wilson), I find it necessary to spread the knowledge and experience that the "Illuminatus" has given me. You can reach a certain illumination from reading it as so many others have, and will be enabled to find reason in so much of the chaos of the world.

Summary: Mind Blowing romp through what you thougt true but is not
Review: This book tells you of people and places that seem so real that you feel what they feel. Half of the way through it you feel like you know what is all about, then your ideas are shattered. You won't know even at the end what it is all about.

Summary: Only the beginning of a mind-opening journey...
Review: I'll let most of the already-submitted reviews speak for themselves; worthy of note is the truly educational nature of the book--not in its information content (although plentiful), but in its ability to urge the reader to think and learn. It truly opened up a whole new world of independent thinking for me; one thing's for sure: after reading this, you'll never look at the world the same way again fnord.

As an additional treat, you'll see how much of the Hollywood industry is influenced by this book, and how many surreptitious references to it show up in film after film....

Summary: They ARE out to get you!
Review: Sex, drugs, and rock & roll are all vital elements of THE CONSPIRACY. You always knew it must be true--and it is. The best send-up of conspiracy theories ever written. Michael Moore might even approve. (Yes, I used to work in that 5-sided, demon haunted building; why do you ask?)

Summary: Egoistic, Concieted pile of Rubbish
Review: I was suprised about all the raving reviews of the Illuminatus. This book has no plot or structure. Characters, places and times switch in midsentence leaving the reader puzzled and confused. For most of the book the reader cannot even tell who or what he is reading about! The superflous barrage of facts (and fiction) assult the reader's senses in a disorganized and chaotic manner. All in all this book is the product of a highly ego-centerd, very arrogant, and drug induced author.

Summary: hAiL ERiS!!!!! Or hail Shea and Wilson for writing this!
Review: The Illuminatus! Trilogy is the encylopedia for all paranoid anarchists. Full of violence (good), sex (even better), and thick, hilarious plotlines. I wasn't stoned when I read this book, and it actually somewhat made sense. Hail Eris!!! All Hail Discordia!!! Kallisti!!!Illuminatus, Stars X in A.'. A.'., member of Lady Velkor's Coven, and God's Lightning Destroyer...Discord rules over Order.......~Lilith Velkor

Summary: What can I say???
Review: Dammit! You just gotta read it. Funny, perverse, and a fantastic trip. Blew my mind, and I don't "use".

Summary: Warning: This book is unlike anything you've read before!
Review: Bored by your run-of-the-mill sci-fi/fantasy novel? Do you want a book that will cause you to THINK, have DOUBTS, and perhaps CHANGE the way you think about the world? This book dares to uncover the possibilities of an ultra-secret group controlling the world. Warning: Reading this book has been suspected of causing Paranoia, high blood-pressure, chills, and feelings of being used. No dolphins were killed in the writing of this book. Hail Eris. All hail Discordia. Ewige Blumencraft. 23. By the way, a 10 rating is 2 fives, and everyone knows that 2+3=5. Fnord
