Rating: Summary: Once again a great message for believers & unbelievers Review: When I first started The Indwelling three days ago I thought, "Uh oh, I don't think this one will have the momentum of the others." Wrong! I'm half way through now & LaHaye & Jenkins have again come out with a winner. This series has really influenced me as a born-again Christian & I hope that it will encourage those who are agnostics or atheists to turn to the Bible for answers before they are "Left Behind".
Rating: Summary: Edge of your seat reading Review: They've done it again...another excellent, fast-paced book that I only put down to go to work! Excellent plot twists and a wonderful scene with Albie in charge! I did find myself thinking, "Hurry up and get to the POINT already and get on with it!" but true to the other books, the "point" as it were, didn't happen til the last several pages of the book, and leaves the reader hanging and waiting until NOVEMBER! I almost wish I hadn't discovered this series until all 12 books were written, so I wouldn't have to wait.
Rating: Summary: Incredible! Review: Out of all the Left Behind books, my favorites before this one were Nicolae and Apollyon. Now I can add the Indwelling to that list! I work in a bookstore, and of course, could not buy the book when we first received it, before its street date. I read it furtively from our back room, and the day it came out, I got up early -- after only 4 hours of sleep -- and bought it for my very own. I absolutely cannot wait for the next one, expected in the fall, and I'm ecstatic about the film being made, based on the first book in this series. I first took an interest in the Left Behind books when a customer approached me and said, "You know, I'm not into Christian stuff, but I bought that book, and it was the best thing I've ever read!" The content, and the writing style, has made me entirely re-think my views on my current life and its relation to the future. A must read!
Rating: Summary: What a Stinker! Review: I have just finished this book, after anxiously awaiting it's arrival for many months. I really hate that I have to say "What a huge rip off!" I feel like I've been hood winked. This book rambles on literally forever about all the main characters trying to get back to the same location, which if it were even the first quarter of the book, might have been ok. Then the very purpose and/or premise of the book, the Antichrist becoming "indwellt" doesn't take place until page 364 for a story that ends on page 389. I can't believe I looked forward to this book for so long! If the authors plan to abuse their readers with another non-story in the next installment, just to stretch how many books they can write, please don't even waste our time with the next one.
Rating: Summary: Indwelling: Hair-raising action to the last page! Review: As a Left Behind lover, I came back for my seventh helping and wasn't disappointed. Although most of the main plot twists were pretty predictable, these were written in such a way that they weren't boring. It also presented a chilling picture of the evil side of the supernatural, something the previous books hadn't done. On the down side, I don't think that 400 pages should have been devoted to the brief time span that the book covered. To increase the length of the book, there was more character development than usual, which made parts of the book tedious.
Rating: Summary: The best thus far Review: Wow! I was totally blown away by THE INDWELLING! I was thinking with Nicolae gone, it wouldn't be as exciting, but I was very wrong. This was definitely the best of the first seven. This also has alot of surprises in it, including Tribulation Force deaths, and obviously the indwelling of Nicolae. You won't believe who assassinated him! LaHaye and Jenkins are by far two of the worlds best authors. The LEFT BEHIND series seems to get better as we move ahead. I can't wait for THE MARK :)
Rating: Summary: Disturbing Review: As a literature lover, I find it troubling that this book, with its large print, TV-byte writing, and shallow characters, is so popular. As a Christian, I'm disturbed by its fortress mentality and the reduction of Christianity to an insurance policy. I think Jenkins means well, but I hope readers who are dissatisfied with the Christianity presented in this series will look further and not judge it based solely on these books.
Rating: Summary: Did it again Review: Once again, Lahaye and Jenkins have captured the imagination. I bought this book the day it came out (5/23) and finished it this morning (5/25)! The only thing is, the next book won't be out until November. The character development that the authors are known for in past books continues here with complex characters making complex decisions. Definitely a page turner. This is one of those books that you find yourself suggesting to others so that you can discuss it with them. You really feel like you know these people. Great job.
Rating: Summary: The Indwelling Review: I think this was great book. It kept me on the edge of my seat wanting more. Great christian fiction book.
