Rating: Summary: What Next Review: "The Indwelling" book 7 of the LEFT BEHIND series continues to captivate readers with its well written action-packed narrative of what is in store for the world as related in the book of 'Revelations.' The antichrist is dead, a statue crafted in his honor belches smoke and fire, demanding worship. What follows will keep you glued to the story and have you out purchasing the next volume in the series...
Rating: Summary: An Outstanding Edition to a Great Series Review: I loved this book, just as I have loved the rest of the Left Behind series. Written by Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins, these books deliver a powerful spiritual message without denominational slurs and an in-your-face attack. This book, like others, has a powerful storyline, a strong message, and memorable characters. I highly recommend this book - and any book in this series - for anybody interested in Christianity or the end times. The main characters - Rayford, Chloe, and Buck - continue their saga in the times after the Rapture. This book is high suspense, making the time it takes to turn a page seem like forever. What will Nicolae do next? What does God's great plan have in store for the Tribulation Force? How many people will come to witness the power of Christ? Many secrets await, and new faces will appear. As I stated before, I highly recommend this novel and other novels in the series. I certainly would read the books in order, and I would have a bible handy to catch many of the allusions. However, for the most part it is a fun read with a powerful message. I have one final piece of advice - buy The Mark when you purchase this book. You won't want to wait for the next edition to arrive!
Rating: Summary: Finally, a Christian novel that won't insult your IQ Review: Why do they always have to make it seem simple? Why are the chareacters always so boring? Why do they always make it seem like morality suddenly becomes black and white? Why do they always seem like they are written for fifth graders? Why are Christian novels so BAD? If y6ou've asked yourself these questions, buy We All Fall Down. Smart, funny, and totally engrossing, this is the best novel about Christianity that I've ever read.
Rating: Summary: Again - a RIVETING read Review: I loved this entire series (which I read in the span of a week and a half). Frank Peretti used to be my #1 favorite author. Well these books slid him down to 2nd place. I am anxiously waiting for the next one!
Rating: Summary: confused Review: I read five books in the series while visiting my son in VA on vacation for a week. The first 4 books were great and by the time I got to the 6th and 7th my interest fell. I bought the 6th and 7th when I got back home. I was very disapointed it was very hard to keep up with the story. There seemed to be very little of one in the seventh. I will not get another. There certainly was a long wait for the 8th book.
Rating: Summary: A tool for approaching Revelations Review: Once again, we join the Tribulation Force as they prepare for the end of time. The book starts with a brief introduction to who the major characters are (believers, unbelievers, and undecideds) as well as a brief section (less than two pages) from the end of 'Assassins.' In this book, we are finished the second woe and are prepared for the approach of the Beast. As in the other books, the pace is fast, so you will find yourself compelled to finish the book at one setting. After talking with my family, I found that it wasn't just me trying to read it all at once. Unfortunately, this results in the events not getting the description or explanation that you may wish. I would not let this deter you from reading the books. Anything that helps us to understand the events of Revelations is good. I would recommend this book.
Rating: Summary: Thank God There's an Alternative Review: I don't hate Left Behind. In fact, to begin with it looked like it might be a pretty good series. Now it just drags on and on with subplots and characters I find it hard to care about. There's HARDLY ANYTHING about the Tribulation. Thank God I heard about the end times series THE CHRIST CLONE TRILOGY by James BeauSeigneur. First of all, it sticks to the story. Even better, BeauSeigneur explains WHY and HOW the events of the Tribulation happen instead of just having them occur with no logical explanation.
Rating: Summary: Not the best one of the series, but still recommend Review: This series has been very enjoyable for me, however the Indwelling was not the most captivating. I often had to force myself to pick it up and continue reading. You should still read this series and this book.
Rating: Summary: Character development is non-existent! Review: Chloe spends all of her time working for the international co-op. Those are pretty much the exact words of the authors. She's gone from a Main Eventer down to a Lower Mid-Card. So why should the audience care what happens to her? The reason for this is simple. It seems that for every one character that is killed, we are introduced to three more people that we will really never learn enough about to actually care. If the series continues down this path, I'll have no basis on which to recommend these books to others.
Rating: Summary: Indwelling reignites a series diving from Assassins Review: The Indwelling picking up on the coat tails from the averagely pieced together novel "Assassins" in this ongoing series is spectacular. Lahaye & Jenkins get their chemistry back , and this book explodes into a real thriller. I am a fan fan of the Left Behind series, but not every book in it screams out to me as a good one. Indwelling does. It has superb character development, fast pacing, and a climactic ending. And it delivers that feeling of "when can I get more". I'm sure many who think these books are for christians only plan on avoiding them. Don't. The story is great, the characters are believeable, and it's message is for everyone. We don't have forever to decide what we believe. If you don't know now you probabley need to go find out soon. Take it as you may. This is a good book , and a worthy additon to a great series.
