Rating: Summary: I couldn't put it down! Review: They did it again! I read it in less than three days because I couldn't put it down. Nicolae's assasin is revealed but you are still left with another cliff hanger at the end. I'm going to read it again for the shear pleasure of it and this time I will breathe more often.
Rating: Summary: Excellent addition to the series Review: This book was an excellent addition to the series when considered in context with the nature of the subject. Gone are the days where authors hammer out such masterpieces as Quo Vadis and The Robe. These books are not meant to be studied as literary treasures in Ivy league universities. They are meant to lead people to more in depth investigation into living their life for Christ. They are written in such a manner that would allow more readers to do just that. This series just drives people toward that goal in a way that not many others have. Do not criticize the authors for doing a wonderful job on the Left Behind series. And for all of you who do, what is the name of your book so that I may read it as well? What have you done on such a large scale that would bring Jesus to the people who need Him?
Rating: Summary: MAJOR DISAPOINTMENT! Review: After a very lengthy time of waiting for this new arrival, I was very disapointed as to the lack of prophecy, and the excessive useless dialogue that took place in this book. Not much happened, and aside from reading the very last chapter, one could theoretically skip this book and start with the next one without having missed anything critical. I think that the authors are starting to sell out. Big disapointment.
Rating: Summary: The Indwelling: The most spiritually-involved one yet! Review: The Indwelling is the 7th book to be released in the Left Behind series, written by Jerry B. Jenkins and Tim LaHaye. The Inwelling picks up immediatly where Assassins, book #6, left off and reveals who killed the Antichrist. The assassin was somewhat predictable, but many other suspects clouded the actual identity of the assasin. The Indwelling gets very spiritually in depth, especially when Rayford Steele flys back home all by himself, and when Tsion Ben-Judah begins "dreaming dreams." When the safety of the safe house is questioned, David Hassid locates the STRONG Building, which will hopefully house all of the Trib Force and then some. As the funeral nears, the pace picks up somewhat, and a few mysteries surface. When Nicolae Carpathia (the Antichrist) is indwelt by Satan, he begins quoting Jesus and claiming his "divine power." The Indwelling is probably one of the best books so far, but the story moves slowly. The entire book only goes over a period of about 3 days, and that's not very much when it's a book that long. The book leaves us with only a few small cliffhangers, unlike the previous book, Assassins. The upcoming 8th book, The Mark, should answer the question of who might betray the Trib Force, what the numbers of the ten kingdoms mean, and the rise of a new technology, a mark that everyone will have to have to be able to buy or sell. I give The Indwelling 4 out of 5 stars, even though it hosts a slow plot, it takes you for a wild ride.
Rating: Summary: Be Patient Review: As most others who have read the books in this series, I was anxiously anticipating yet another page-turner. Unfortunately, that did not happen. The book is drawn out, and somewhat irrelevant to the subject at hand. It moves very slowly, so the reader must either skip over passages, or become bleary eyed over some very mundane details. All in all, it's an average book, in a better than average series. I can't wait for number 8!
Rating: Summary: Fabulous! Review: This 7th book of the Left Behind Series is FABULOUS! It will keep you on the edge of your seat!
Rating: Summary: Fire and Brimstone! Review: This is probably one of the greatest to date. Extremely exciting and sad, but also a mystery. The Indwelling involves the book of Revelations in the Bible, and the end of the world -- but is definitley not just a book for bible thumpers! This is definitely for everyone! buy The Indwelling! I also recomend: "A Tourist in the Yucatan" a knock your soxs of thriller!
Rating: Summary: Lots and lots of nothing Review: What a let down. It takes 300+ pages to get to anything of merit in the story line. Those 300+ pages are spent rehashing the same fly here, fly there; almost get caught plots they have covered over these first 6 books. Little character development and little advancement of the story line. The last 75 pages are so rushed that the return of Nicole seems cartoonish and silly. I'll be borrowing the next book from friends instead of preordering.
Rating: Summary: The series is fizzling out. . . Review: I read the first book years ago, and have read them all immediately upon release, so I am not hostile toward the Left Behind series, BUT. . . this book just isn't good. I have the same complaint as many of the others who posted here. The book took too long to get to the good stuff. I can't believe the whole book only covered something like three or four days! But what really upsets me is the title of the book is "The Indwelling," which leads you to believe you are going to see the beast in action, but Nicolae doesn't even rise until the very last pages. ARGH! It's frustrating, but I will be buying the rest of the books anyway, just to see how they are and to complete my set. I just wish the author(s) would try to recapture the magic of the first book. It really has been all down hill from "Left Behind."
Rating: Summary: The Indwelling - a little slow Review: I must say I am a little disappointed in this book. It moved way to slow. The Assassin finished when they were just about to say who killed Carpathia. I expected the Indwelling to continue on from that point in time. I couldn't believe I had to read through half of the book to discover who did it. (Not that I didn't already know before I even started reading this book.) I still love the series and hope the next ones will pick it up a bit.
