Rating: Summary: Anne Rice's attention to detail is enthralling Review: After reading the VAMPIRE CHRONICLES, I was hoping that Ms. Rice would live up to her attention to detail and her characters would be just as real and captivating. I was NOT disappointed. Keep up the Good Work
Rating: Summary: I thought "The Witching Hour" was overall an excellent book. Review: I thought "The Witching Hour" was a great book. It always left me in suspense and wanting to read more. I liked better than other books I have read because it was interesting. I think that what was most interesting about the book was the incest. It was just amazing how entangled the family tree was. The one thing about the book that I was dissatisfyed with was the ending. Its hard for me to believe that Rowan just took off and tryed to help this creature. I have just begun " Lasher" and plan to move on to "Taltos". I hope that I will be just as satisfyed with those books and that the ending of "Taltos" will be a good and happy one
Rating: Summary: What was her editor thinking???? Review: While I found many parts of this book to be very interesting and fun to read, there was plenty that could have been cut out. I felt like I was back in high school trying to get through Moby Dick. When I've reached the end of the book and I'm thrilled just to be done with it, that's not a good sign. I really enjoyed The Vampire Lestat, Queen of the Damned, and The Mummy. I was looking forward to getting into another series, but I don't know if I can bring myself to pick up the next one. The main parts where she lost me and I started to skim were when she would start to describe some things in way too much detail. I think they could make an interesting television show out of this book and probably the whole series, but it was just too much packed into one book. The end of the book left me with zero sense of closure and made it feel like I still hadn't finished this monstrosity of a story. I gave this an average rating because it does have some good stories in it that are captivating at times, but it also drags heavily in other places that make you feel like you're wearing a suit of armor and have fallen in the pool and make you wonder if you're just waisting your time
Rating: Summary: intricately amazing Review: definatly readable
Rating: Summary: You'll fall in love with the Mayfair Witches! Review: A couple of years ago I picked up both Vampire Lestat and Interview with a Vampire and could absolutely NOT get through them. Then recently with only $7.00 in my pocket to spend on a book I took a trip to Barnes & Noble to find the longest book for my money, hence I gave Anne another shot and bought The Witching Hour. Having read it I can only say it was literally one of the best books I have ever read. I could not put it down and with two kids to take care of that was not an easy task. As much as I prayed I'd never get to the end, I knew my kids missed me and life would have to go on. The night I finished I dragged the family back to B&N and bought the two sequels. While not as exceptional as the first definitely worth the effort
Rating: Summary: GORGEOUS Review: A beautiful work. Thanks, Ann
Rating: Summary: The best book I have ever read! Review: The Witching Hour was the first book that I could not put down. I would stay up for hours at a time because it was like I was living everything that I was reading about. I can't wait to read the next one in the series
Rating: Summary: LONGEST DAMN BOOK I EVER READ! Review: The cover and the title of the book enticed me. The actual size of the book itself annoyed me. Don't get me wrong, I love to read and a "big" (actually, monsterous) book doesn't scare me away, but this book was too long! Since I am not a quitter, I was forced to see this book through to the end. Once I start a book I can't stop until it's finished. Unfortunately, (or fortunately, for those of you who enjoyed The Witching Hour), there are sequels to this thing. I won't be rushing out to pick them up any time soon. This was a disappointment that took way to long to be over

Aaron Lightner the same character in The Queen of the Damned. The Talamasca, the same organization in The Queen of the Damned has investigated The Mayfair Witches for centries.
