Rating: Summary: A great read ! Review: The Star Wars story as a whole is excellent. George Lucas is brilliant to have come up with a story revealing so many aspects of humanity. Attack of the Clones further explores Palpatines manipulation of galactic events. Since everyone already knows that Palpatine is a pretty bad guy the most intersting part of the book reveals the roots of Palpatines manipulation of Anakin to the dark side. The rift between Obi Wan and Anakin is clearly displayed as well as Anakins feelings for his mother and Padme. Episode Three will resolve many of the questions that remain...I hope. Many people have critizied Episode One, but it is just the introduction to the events of Two and Three. Lucas has stuck to his story and instincts in spite of what the media has said about him. This book was great, the movie will likely be better and Episode Three cannot come fast enough. If you like fantasy you will love The Price of Immortality. It was a great read and an escape into a new world. I highly recomend it.
Rating: Summary: Dissapointing Review: After many sleepless nights, anxious hand wringing, and biting my lip to the point where it bled, as I awaited publication, I was sorely disappointed. After reading and re-reading The Phantom Menace, almost to the point where my eyes wore the words off the pages, I expected this book to possess similar writing quality, grabbing me from the very beginning and never letting me go. I was wrong. Salvatore does absolutely FABULOUS action scenes, I'll give him that, but otherwise, I found the book completely sloppy. The romance was far from perfect, as I don't think he went into Anakin and Padme's psyche enough. Their thoughts about each other didn't seem very serious to me, as if this was some tiny little crush; something I doubt Lucas intended it to be. The father/son scenes between Jango and Boba fett, weren't utterly horrible, and DID portray SOME emotion, but I don't think it was the right kind. For example; in the movie, Boba utters an absolutely evil giggle, and Jango looks at him with a 'that's my boy', expression, and I really don't think Salvatore portrayed him as a proud papa, as I think he should have. The plot is bland between action scenes, as which I stated before, are definitely his strength. THEY actually held my attention, as they were most definitely edge-of-your-seat quality. Lots of very nifty martial-art style fighting, not to mention Jango gets to demonstrate usage of the tools of the trade a couple times. And I say it once again, they were GREAT. I also found the dialogue strange, as it just didn't make sense in some places, and the characters' thoughts were scattered. I was repeatedly wondering how we got from thinking about Boba to going on about how much humans from different planets didn't care about each other. He also would jump to the senate and Tatooine at the strangest places. At first, I found it absolutely charming the way he wrote Shmi and Cliegg Lars, but eventually they got flat-out boring, as we always had to go see what they, or the Jedi council, or Palpatine were up to, before we could get on with the story. The fact that I don't think he went deep enough in to the characters, they eventually became impersonal. The worst was Padme, as I really didn't get to KNOW her. Eventually, I ended up not caring if she lived or died at all, and found my self cheering when she got dumped out of the ship. As she's supposed to be the Heroine here, that's not supposed to happen. But, if you are an absolute fanatic, and your collection won't be complete without it, buy the book. For those of you who want to just read it; borrow it from a friend, or visit the library. Personally, I didn't think it was worth it.

Rating: Summary: On topic, Most of the time... Review: This story has all of the movie; and more. Yet, after a awile it is hard to remember what really happened in the movie. If you don't want to forget it, then be careful as you read the book. However, the story additions were great, and they gave you more insight to the characters. Over all, a good read.
Rating: Summary: You have got to read this awesome book! Review: I've just recently become a Star Wars fan. I never had interest in it before, because I guess it bored me a bit. Then Episode 2 was out and I wanted to see how it was. I have yet to see Episode 2 though. I've seen the ratings of the movie, seems like people don't like it too much. I think that the book is probably much better than watching the movie. I'm pretty sure scenes from the book were cut off from the movie. As I read the book, it was much more thrilling to get to imagine what was happening throughout the whole story. The plot was good, and it keeps you wanting more. You actually feel like you are in the characters position or with them. It's like you're part of the story. I could not put this book down, it was great! You just have to read this book, I don't want to spoil it for any of you, so just get it, you will not be disappointed!! While you're at it read other Star Wars books!
Rating: Summary: Specific attack on Capitalism Review: Loved the movie - liked the book. The main item of curiosity to me was that RAS specifically attacked capitalism, while The George Lucas film version merely decried the greed from all sides, not just the captitalist. GL also never used the word Capitalism specifically prefering terminology not used in our galaxy. A second curiosity, which was expanded on in the book, were the discussions of Emperialism (need for one strong leader, which usually translates to great public relations) vs democracy vs royal democacy, where all the candidates are members of the royal family, and apparently under age 21. Palpatine's plan was 1. create havoc so that people would happily give up their freedom and rights in exchange for safety. 2. create enemies to use up the Jedi 3. create a republic army of clones to suppliment the republic "navy". A SW nut will enjoy the "add-in's" that have not been put in the movie YET. If you can overlook the sloppy writing you will likely enjoy this expended tale of episode II. BRING BACK ANAKIN SOLO SOCIETY, JEDIMACK.
Rating: Summary: There is a disturbance in the Force... Review: Ten years after the events of the Phantom Menace, there are disturbances in the Force. The Republic continues to be corrupt even under the leadership of Supreme Chancellor Palpatine. Now Separatists threaten to tear the Senate apart and start all out war and the Senate is hopelessly divided on the issue of whether to raise an army for battle or keep the peace. Young Senator Padme Amidala, former Queen of the Naboo, has come to Corusant to cast her crucial vote in this matter. After barely escaping an assasination on her life, the Jedi Council sends Obi-Wan Kenobi and his mischievous, but talented apprentice Anakin Skywalker to protect the Senator's life. A decade has passed since Anakin and Padme last crossed paths, but the years have not dimmed Anakin's feelings for the beautiful politicion. After another attempt is made on the Senator's life Obi-Wan Kenobi leaves to find the assasin and what he finds will shake the Jedi Council to its core. Meanwhile, Anakin is given his first mission, to protect the Senator. As he and Padme spend time alone with eachother, at the secluded Naboo lake resort, their fondness for eachother continue to grow in what is a forbidden romance. R.A. Salvatore did a great job writing this book. I have seen the movie and I feel in many ways the book is better than the movie. There is definitely more character development. The romance has more detail to it, and it wasn't that bad to have extra chapters about Shmi Skywalker before she was kidnapped by the Tuskan Raiders, and Padme with her family. Of course seeing the book come alive at the movies is another whole new experience. R.A. Salvatore also did a great job with describing the action scenes too. A great book for all of us Star Wars fans!
Rating: Summary: AWESOME - just like the movie!!! Review: I loved this book. I read it AFTER having seen the movie because I wanted to watch the film without knowing any spoilers. I have to say that the movie totally lived up to my expectations! I personally think it is way better than Episode I - The Phantom Menace which was a pretty unexciting beginning to the Star Wars saga. This movie, however, is anything but unexciting!! It totally rocks, actually. The story is really good this time. I don't wanna tell anything about it here cause you should really go and watch it for yourself. Just the basics: Obi-Wan is now Anakin Skywalker's master. Anakin meets Padmé Amidala (who is now a senator) again, and they fall in love. The Republic faces a new threat in the shape of the Separatists, many star systems who seperated from the Republic under the leadership of Count Dooku (Christopher Lee does an awesome job here!).... To sum it all up: The movie is great, the love story is nice, so are the action scenes. Obi-Wan rocks (good job, Ewan!), Anakin is kinda hot (for the girls), Padmé is pretty sexy (for the guys!), Yoda just rules (if you have seen the movie, ya know what I mean). Good story, too, though people who havent seen the other star wars movies will probably have difficulties in understanding it. The BOOK is just the same, actually even better cause it focuses more on the characters, their thoughts, feelings and motivations and so on. Buy it and go see the movie! It's worth the money.
Rating: Summary: Outstanding!!! Review: Salvatore more than out does himself here! The movie was incredible, but this book (if that's possible) is even better. With expanded dialogue and longer scenes, the entire story flows better and makes more sense. Questions that were never addressed there are answered here. (Does Boba know he's a clone? Why was Padme made a queen so young?) I won't go too much into the plot, but take my word for it, this one is not just for Star Wars die hards!
Rating: Summary: Draws you in just like the movie! Review: I bought this book a few days before seeing Star Wars in the theaters. And I must say, I loved the book. It draws you in, and the romance between Anakin and Padmé is much more vivid in the book than the movie, and the romance in the movie was very well done. And the book doesn't go too slow, like many others. It keeps moving, but keeps you drawn in, as I said before. There are also many extras in the book that weren't in the movie, like a few scenes with Padmé's family, and some more scenes featuring Yoda and Mace Windu talking. Overall, this is a very good book, and is a must-read for Star Wars fans(like myself)or Sci-Fi fans(like myself) alike! P.S. I can't review the movie, but i'll tell you how good it is here. I'd give it 4.5/5 stars. Great movie, and my favorite movie of all time.
