Summary: Not even close to the original triology
Review: This book is a disappointment to anyone after reading the three original Chronicles. The characters are pretty good but the story is horrible. I suggest to anyone who has read the Chronicles to read the Legends which are maybe even better then the Chronicles. But don't read this book it will taint the greatness of the other two triologys. All in all this book sucks because their are far fetched elements in the plot that are just dumb. I mean the creator of the Gods is freed and is pissed off against the world of Krynn. This book was written to make money and it shows.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: The best and the worst book I've read about Dragonlance!!!!
Review: This is an incredible book, the best in all the Dragonlance Saga, but it's also the worst.I'm gonna explain it: IT'S NOT FAIR!!!! WHY HAS TO FINISH THE BEST FANTASY SAGA I'VE EVER READ???? I just IMPLORE to Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman to go on with the Dragonlance, although there will be no more gods and magic in their books.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: This book has characters we can connect to, that we love.
Review: Chaos, the father of the gods, has become angry with his children, so he decides to destroy the world that they created, and stop their fighting amongst themselves.

Raistlin, the corrupt brother of Caramon, at last returns, but his changes are far different than you may think.

The fight continues with a new generation of heroes, the children of those companions we have come to love. They fight still to destroy the evil that the Dark Queen has brought upon the land. It is a time of troubles still

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Good book, although they seemed to rush through it.
Review: Overall, I found the book to be quite interesting. It pulled you in and made you try to see what happens next. However, I feel that Weis and Hickman rushed through the writing of this novel. It almost seemed that they could have made this book better if they would have split it into 2 separate books. In my opinion, the story seemed "rushed" through towards the end of the book.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: The best DL novel yet!
Review: This book had everything that makes a dragonlance novel great, magic, gods, heroes, villains, and - of course - dragons. The Graygem, Irda, Knights of Takhisis, Chaos, and Raistlin were all tied in to one plot masterfully. However, I was displeased to see the bad ratings others were giving the book just because it ended the Krynn as we know it. Just because this book forced the series to move on does not mean that the quality of the novel is not excellent. Even though I was very depressed about the occuences in the book, such as the departure of the gods and magic, my two favorite elements, I do have to admit that this was the best dragonlance novel I have read. I found myself getting caught up in the roles of these characters equally or more than I had been with the original characters in the Chronicles. Weis and Hickman, however sad it was for themselves and the readers, brilliantly brought about a new twist in the world of Krynn

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: This book will blow you out of your boots!
Review: Finally returning to the world they helped create, Weis and Hickman wrote the most amazing Dragonlance novel to date. Without getting into the plot too deeply (there are other reviews for that), Weis and Hickman have done things to this world no other author would have the courage to do. The ending will leave you panting for more and worshipping Tracy and Margaret as the best fantasy writers today. The Heroes of the Lance and their offspring (and those Heroes were a randy bunch, apparently) have to save the world again and what havoc they wreak will leave you open-mouthed in wonder. Buy this book! You will not be disappointed

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Absolutely the best Dragonlance Book that I have ever read!!
Review: The War of the Lance is long over. Again Good fights Evil. Evil "wins", and Chaos, Father of the Gods, returns bringing havoc to Krynn. Now the fate of the world is in the hands of living heroes- (Palin, Tasslehoff, Usha, and Steel). This book was the best DL book I have ever read! It is long but that isn't a problem because you won't be able to put it down

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Excellent beginning and middle, bumber of an end.
Review: This is an excellent book. You gotta love
those cliff hangers at the end of each of the
chapters. I couldn't put the blasted book down
I start reading it at nine at night intending
on only reading one or two chapters and often
times find that it's three or four in the
morning and I'm still reading it!

I almost broke out in tears when I got to the
last few pages though. Besides my favorite
kender Tas being killed off, all the gods
left, and most importantly all the magic of
Krynn was also gone. Talk about an aweful
fate! I really hope this doesn't mean the
end the Dragonlance series, that would be a
fate worse than death.

Nevertheless this is an excellent book and I
definitly recommend reading it.

Summary: A new darkness over-takes the land
Review:

Takhisis seeks to enter the world again, so she has a follower of hers create the Knights of Takhisis. Paladins of the Night, the Knights of Takhisis are modeled after the Knights of Solamnia, except with evil intentions. With the help of The Brutes, they begin to take over the world.

The Irda, seeing the possible threat to their way of life, seek to protect themselves, so they send away the Child of the Irda, Usha, and crack the Greygem, hoping to harness the power inside and use it for their protection.

Palin Majere, a mage of the white robes, nephew of Raistlin Majere, Arch-Mage of the Black Robes, travels with his brothers and a group of Solamnic knights, until a battle between their group and the Knights of Takhisis occurs. Palin is the only surviver.

The story takes off from these three points, and soon the world is away of the threat of the All-Father, the High-God, Chaos. As fate draws a group of warriors to each other, the gods begin to worry. Finally, with the guidance of the Creator god, Reorx, and a group of dragons and Knights, both of Takhisis and Paladine, armed with the powerful dragonlances, Tasslehoff Burrfoot, Usha, Palin Majere, and Steel Majere face Chaos in a battle that means the life of death of Krynn.

Summary: A good read but not for a lover of the Dragonlance saga.
Review: I have read most of the Dragonlance books but have lately lost track of the amount of 'spin off' novels written by authors seeming to jump on the bandwagon. It seemed at a first glance that Dragons of Summer Flame would be a welcome return to the quality and style of the original three books. Wrong! I wish to congratulate Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman on their inventive way of killing off what must have been one of the best fantasy settings yet. Bringing back some of the main characters worked for me until they started dropping like flies! I think that the original characters should have been left alone with only references to them used in the book. The information passed on about the father of the gods, Chaos, was interesting, but I felt that I didn't 'know' the 2nd generation characters well enough. It seemed that the old characters were used to bolster the new that had less depth. I would have to say that the actual quality of writing was excellent as would be expected and the story line was original and rather unexpected but more could have gone into the characters. I'm not only attacking, I did enjoy the book, it just didn't seem to live up to it's predecessors.
