Summary: One of the best Dragonlance novels I've read!
Review: "Dragons of Summer Flame" is definitely on of the finest Dragonlance novels I have ever read to date. Despite the lack (at first glance) of some of our more beloved characters (those who were killed off in earlier novels), and the addition of new ones that we don't know, I thought this might be an O.K. book when I finally decided to read it. Little did I know that I would once again meet up with those beloved characters and come to feel for the new character as I felt for the old ones. The book is written so beautifully that, as I read, I could picture the action perfectly, as if a great movie were playing in my mind. There's plenty of action, plenty of mystery and suspense, plenty of magic, and plenty of laughs, enough to make even the most anti-fantasy fanatic change their ways. This is truly a triumph, depite the loss of a few things most people think are important to the world of Krynn, and it leads way into the new Fifth Age novels. As much as we who enjoy the mages and the gods hate to see those two groups go, Krynn, as all worlds, must move on. I encourage any Dragonlance fan to read this book, and for any non-D.L. reader to start reading from the beginning- "Dragons of Autumn Twilight" before reaching for this book. "May your Sword never break . . ."

Summary: A Great Conclusion
Review: I finally was able to read this book the other day. Before i bought it I made the mistake of reading reviews on it. Most of them where bad and I made the discovery that my favorite charector, Tanis, had died. So i hesitated in buying this book. But when i did, it amazed me. I knew that some of the original Companians where dead, and the fact that only the twins survived, (sorta..) let me down a little. But certain things kept it from bombing in my book. First was Raistlen's return. Even without his magic he was great. The second was the Knights of Takhisis. It wasnt a battle like any other. I mean, usually you have the evil, corrupt, and cruel dark minions and the chivelrous, honerable, good forces of light. But the dark paladins know as the knights of takhisis where exact copies of the knights of paladine. It was great. So, i wasnt dissappointed and i recommend this book to those who have at least read the first 3 chronicles. If not, i think you cant really appreciate the ending. P.S. Probably one of the best things about the ending was that the human race wasnt the only one to survive. All the races are alive and for once in recorded krynn history, are in some way at real peace.

Summary: Incredible,amazing, yet tragic
Review: THIS book was INCREDIBLE so ignore any reviews with fives or less. EVEN though it wasn't as GREAT as the original trilogy, this book isTOTALLYamazing. THERE are a few holes, and a few DEATHS, I'll warn you. BUT this book is one of the BEST, and judging it by itself, it is a true 10. READ IT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Summary: Bittersweet... yeah
Review: I may sound like I'm trying to be a devout fan of the series, but in all truth I have never been more quietly touched by a book since High King(Prydain Chronicles: Lloyd Alexander I implore you to read this series)Is it just me or does it seem that every complaint is that they've destroyed their world? Think for a minute. I've read EVERY dragonlance book and I've done my fair share of classics too. Think for a minute. Every person to read this book was genuinely touched. I closed the cover of this book and stared at my ceiling for an hour. I thought. Mortality for the immortal. The people you never thought would be gone will be some day. Courage really isn't measured in the greatness of your deeds but the touch you have in your heart. If you hated this book, you either didn't get it or you really fealt it. It concludes the series and it leaves you with a brighter gem than "what's next?" it leaves you with a most profound sense of hope.

For each individual, each and every book is an unique experience because it serves as a mirror in which we see ourselves and the people around us. In reading a book we see our own happiness and sadness reflected back to us
as well as the ups and downs of everyday life.
Dragons of Summer Flame manages to capture
the essence of life with its little ups and downs
perfectly in such a way that the main theme of
this title is that it doesn't matter if you win or
loose but how you play the game. The book
continues in the same trend as the previous
Dragonlance titles by truly breathing live into
the characters in such a way that you truly
feel their pain and happiness as you read through the book. Throughout the dragonlance series the authors managed to create memorable characters and this title is no exception.
The only problem that creeped in is that this novel is way to short to develop the characters to their full potential as human beings to which we can really relate to. Previous characters were developed over a series of novels and this led to the characters becoming truly human and memorable to all the Dragonlance fans out there. Reading the novel is very enjoyable but more time should have been spent on dealing with all the plot elements and different characters. This should have been another trilogy like the Chronicles and Legends
series in order to wrap up all the loose ends.
(Krynn is a pretty big place after all !).
Credit has to be given to the authors for the way in which they handled the established characters from the previous novels as well as their bold decision regarding the ending of this epic novel. After all, each beginning has to have an ending and each ending is a new beginning. A beautiful novel by two very talented writers.

Summary: I think they couldn't act otherwise
Review: Yes, I almost cried in the end of the reading. And I was going to give some lower mark to this book, but then this came into my mind. We all say here "Oh, how they dared to kill most the main caracters!" But actually why not? Don't forget there is no good writer which composes his books only to amuse his readers. Moreover to earn some bucks. No, every writer and artist in general creates mostly for himself. It may be hard to understand if you've never written things, but writer works only because his soul wants to and needs to, and no good book can be "forced" out of a writer. In this case, Weis and Hickman decided to bring something new into the series, perhaps the air of Krynn as it was before became chocking for them. Though, as I said, any writer works mostly for himself, he also takes the great responsibility. Weis and Hickman probably felt they had no rights to fail their readers. Yet they hardly could continue like this, getting sick of the former caracters. I don't know, but I think they wanted something new, that's why they finished the age of magic and gods on Krynn. These two ladies have all rights to do as they wish, even it goes painful for us (and surely for them as well). Besides, things change and people too, and there is always some light in the end of a tunnel. Perhaps we shall find some new magic... Now about the book itself: I agree, it was probably written in a hurry, there are too many events for me (yes, I liked the slower pace more); maybe that's why I couldn't get used to the new caracters like Usha, Palin, Steel, etc. I honestly tried but alas! they are just boring for me. The book also obviously lacks descriptions and less tense, calmer scenes (like those innocent tricks of Tas - he is still funny, but is too well written in the plot now), things happen almost without breakes or outlets to take a deep breath. Raistlin without his magic is a very good idea though, and Fizban sometimes dispels the sadness. Generally speaking, the contents of this book would be enough for two, and I'd rated "...Flame" lower if not the sorrow of the end. Yet there is a hope too, and I hope as well - hope that this wonderful series will not stop completely. New heroes and magic would be highly apperciated...

Summary: It all depends on the reader!!
Review: As said above, this book all depends on the reader! As you've read in other summeries people say that the world of Dragonlance is now no good cause there is no magic. This is wrong, just read the books that follow, starting with, The Dawning of a New Age. Others say that having the original heroes die ruined the book. Well does'nt everything die with time? Can't expect them to live forever! And players of the world seem to complain that it won't be fun anymore since there is no magic left on Krynn. Well I'll give you one easy solution to that : DON"T PLAY THE FIFTH AGE THEN!! It's that easy, stick with what you enjoy, it's all up to you! By my opinion this was a very exciting book. There is ton's of action, and there is even sadness, this book covers it all. If your looking for an exciting book with a different kind of turn then pick this one up. The only problem was that they killed Palin's brothers to quickly, maybe if we are lucky then there will be books about them in the future! Good reading to all!!!

Review: But in case you do, I'll tell you that this is one of the greatest books ever written. Everyone on this page complains about the hereos dying. Well, they obviously had no problem with Flint and Sturm died in Chronicals. Everyone dies sometime. Tanis died honorably, defending Steel. Raistlin doesn't need magic to be eerie and powerful. I was MORE than glad to see him reunite with his brother. I've already started reading Fifth Age, and while it's not half as good as the DL saga, it's still good reading. Good luck Palin!END

Review: I loved the book. Palin Majere returns to the Abyss to get his uncle to help. Rated a 9 because their were a few mysteries to it but its been a few years since I read it so I cant really list them.

Summary: I WISH I NEVER READ THIS CURSED BOOK
Review: I read this book in 3 days. I couldn't put it down. it was entertaining, but after i finished it, and layed it down, mith misty eyes i wished that i had never read it. It destroys everything and everyone that you ever loved about Krynn. There are so many things wrong with it too, in that i mean, things like the greatest of all gods not noticing some people just because they were hiding in a bush????? There are good parts to this novel and some things that i think you really should know happened (if you are as die-hard a fan as me), but i wish i could just tell you those things and not tell you the rest so that you would still have an unwavering optimistic view of the once magical world of krynn.
