Summary: Decent book. But.
Review: A good book that can stand by itself, but it is a huge waste to let the gods come back, and then make them go away.If I were one of the new believers, I'd want to hack up the clerics for giving me so much hope and excitement only to find out that, sorry, it's 4th age again, no more gods! No more magic! No more good authors carrying on the tale! Jean Rabe's comin'.

Why have Tanis die? Why have two nearly unknown characters die? Why have Chaos(TSR) come in and ruin a perfectly good story?

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: The best of the Dragon Lance Chronicals yet!
Review: This is one of the best books that I've read! It's long has everything you want to know and Everyone is in it. Once I read this book I could not put it down! Buy it and keep it!

Summary: True Dragonlance Fans Beware
Review: I am a true lover of the two Dragonlace Trilogies, Chronicles and Legends, and must say that Dragons of Summer Flame was a disappointment.

Character development was severely lacking in this book and the integration of our beloved companions and the next generation of heroes does not harmonize. Perhaps the worst part of this book is how frivilous the lives of people are. those whom we've come to endear are slain without much thought. The valor or purpose seen in Sturm's death is absent in Summer Flame.

I was hoping for a lot more in Summer Flame. And although it is a decent book, it does not live up to the standard that Weis and Hickman set in their original two Trilogies. this book should have been told in a trilogy itself, taking time to fully develop characters and such, but instead, we are given a very shallow view.

Summary: A satisfying book :)
Review: I thought this book had a lot more to it than did some of the others before it. True, it didn't have the original characters, but there are new surprises in it. I especially liked reading of the Irda and of Raistlin's return. There were also a few parts that really made me think, such as Steel's nobility and the way Prot died, with Usha's doll--that was really sad. Overall, I think this very well-written, and it deserves five stars.

Summary: I have to give it 1 star???
Review: This book has nothing that made Chronicles the excellent series it was. Characters are dull and lifeless, plot is juvenille, and the writing style is amateurish. I don't know how Weis & Hickman could have wanted their name on it. It looks like a book written by two angry authors. I hear they're writing another series. Why? Did they miss destroying something?

Summary: This is THE BEST book I have ever read.
Review: Before I read this book, I was into reading children's sci-fi books written by small-time authors. Then my friend urged me to read DoSF. I was skeptical at first, but when I finally finished this 586 page book, I was astonished and sad. I didn't want the book to end! I wanted more! Since that time more than two years ago when I was in the fifth grade, I have read all of the DragonLance Chronicles, DragonLance Legends and several other DragonLance novels by authors such as Don Perrin, Jean Rabe, and others.

My favorite character was the ever-lovin' Tasslehoff Burrfoot! This kender is hilarious.

The plot of DoSF was so intoxicating that, not only was I not able to put it down, but I have read it THREE TIMES and each time I find something that I had forgotten about the book that I absolutely LOVED the first time!

This book is possibly the best book in the history of fantasy, and definately the best in the history of Krynn!

Summary: This Book Was Great, Just Despite Some Other Reviews
Review: This was one of the best books that I've read in the dragon lance saga (and I've read alot). It had a great story line and amazing insight into the charecters thoughts throughtout the whole of this lengthy book. Palin Majere is an extreamly well developed charecter that, I believe, is trying to escape the shadow of his uncle. This book was a truly grand adventure with a few plot twists added in. One of, if not the, greatest book I have ever read.

Summary: it was wonderful one of the best dragonlasnce books yet
Review: this book had evey thing in it. it tied up loose ends for the older age and started on the new age im sorr but it was 1 of the best books i have ever read

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: WHY????
Review: I love dragonlance and suffered greatly thru this book. After the war of the lance the belief in the gods finally come back. Then the gods really do leave Krynn. This was a very good story but why fix something that wasn't broken. If you want to create a new world start a new series. Don't destroy perfection.

Summary: Excellent and Emotional
Review: Although I agree that the novel could have been longer (though certainly not a trilogy - that would have been too draggy), the story had at moments nearly brought tears to my eyes.

The courage and sacrifices that the characters had to make, especially Steel and Tanis, portrays the traits that make all of us humans. It is an excellent tale of love, courage and honor.

Maybe there were a few moments where I wasn't entirely satisfied with the book, but overall it is the best book I have read so far.
