Rating: Summary: Awesome and thrilling book Review: This is the first book I have read that Terry Goodkind has written and i absolutly loved it. I could not put it down! Everything written in this book had me trapped and impatient on what else was going to happen. I can't wait to read the other books.
Rating: Summary: Sex pervert , Fantasy writer Wannabe in an ok novel Review: Wizard's first rule is the first in a bloody, vicious fantasy series. Although the writer's style is clear and very readable, it's sad to notice that the plot is standard, the characters flat and the only "interesting" thing is the unbelievable amount of violence. Personal request for Terry Goodkind: Please ! if I'll see one more fantasy book with a man and woman meeting and feeling that their destinies are tied, I'm going to blind myself.
Rating: Summary: Perfecto Review: Great. A must get. Beutiful. I enjoyed the whole series. GohanC
Rating: Summary: Later Books Copy, First Book Good Review: This first book is a fairly good sword and sorcery fantasy, it throws in unusual plot elements and good imagination. The later books in the series however, have many parallels to other authors' books. (Namely Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time Series). If you want some ok fantasy, but don't mind the EXTRAORDINARY similarities to other authors' works, have fun.
Rating: Summary: Better than The Wheel of Time?! Indeed! Review: I've read both The Wheel of Time and The Sword of Truth series and I must say that while both are good I would have to say that TSoT is better. Why? Well I could go on forever trying to justify meself but I will not. This is my opinion and I sugest that you make your own. Read the books. You'll thank me.
Rating: Summary: Deffinately rates up with Tolkien. Review: This has to have been the most spellbinding book I have read in a long time. The characters are unforgetable and the setting is marvelous. This brought back memories of some of my favorite stories because it seems to take on an aspect of every style out there. Terry Goodkind is now ranked as one of my 3 favorite authors with J. R. R. and Stephen Brust being the other two. I would highly recomend this book to anyone at all.
Rating: Summary: The best book I've ever read Review: Wizards First Rule has got to be the best fantasy book I've ever read. I bought it at a booksale a couple of years ago and finished the day after I started it. I couldn't put it down. The first 15 or so pages is slightly slow but after that, it's great. Get this book, it's worth it.
Rating: Summary: This book is classic Review: I first read this book in August of 1997 and within two-three weeks I had read the whole series to date and I have since read the TOW, I loved WFR, my favorite however is SOT because it had more action and it was heart gripping with Richard feeling he had been betrayed. Reading book one I felt like I was zipped away into another world. Sometimes when I read I find myself five pages farther without remembering reading anything as if my eyes scan over it and I just don't absorb it. When I read this book it was totally captivating each word heightening my sensations. Instead of reading and not remembering reading the previous pages due to lack of comprehension I read and didn't remeber reading because each word created a picture in my mind and I could see Richard's world so vivid I have never read anything so descriptive and enthralling, I made the mistake of reading the section where Richard and Kahlan travel through the small pass after midnight and when I was finished reading it I had many nightmares I could see the shades trying to reach out from the darkness trying to grab me this book was just so awesome.
Rating: Summary: Greatest Review: This is one of the greatest books I have ever read, before When I was younger 6 I hated this book because of the big words the use of text that I didn't understand but now being older I read alot of fantasy and I know what the words mean and understand the text. Now that I know all this I think that this is the best book that I have ever read I am getting ready to read number 2 tears of stones I think, but this book was the best I have ever read. The way he found a wizard and how the lands had been separated it was something like I have never seen before. I have read The hobbit The fellow ship of the ring The two towers and was read the return of the king but it was just to boring and maybe for a older age group and I thought this book was better than all of them put together. I loved this book and like alot of people I felt like I knew all of these characters also and how I could relate to there feelings. In other words I loved this book because it gave you and insight and you start wondering when they are going to find out and how.
Rating: Summary: Good attempt, but violence detracts from world... Review: This was my first Terry Goodkind novel, and, although I found his world amusing, his style crisp, and characters sufficiently engaging, the violence that literally erupted from nowhere in several sections of the book turned me off from reading any more of his work. Mr. Goodkind lulls you with pastoral scenes and then throws attempted rape, torture, and child molestation into the mix to shock the reader. If you do not enjoy graphic violence, do not pick this book up.
