Rating: Summary: Excellent and Neverending Review: This entire series gives a scope of diverse characters, beautiful settings and an extremely involved plot. I found it easy to be drawn in from the first page, and each subsequent book picks up right were the last book left off. I have to admit I didn't sleep a lot when reading this because it is that great. I have to say this is better than Dragonlance series.
Rating: Summary: Not for everyone... Review: Terry Goodkind is a wonderfull writer in every form. His novels are full of wonderment, and there is always an element of suprise as to the outcome of events. His writing is also coupled with morals and phylisophical teachings. I found this to make the novel a million times more enjoyable, as you really dove into the depths of these characters minds, however most fantasy readers will see this as preachy and will feel it gets in the way of the action. There is lots of violence in this novel, but not more than is neccisary for the story. Some of the themes are a bit mature, includeing some very intimate situations between Richard and Kahlen. For anyone who doens't mind a little philosiphy tied in with thier fun, this book will hit home. For those who are in it for the action, the magic, and the gore.... this book will proablaby not satisfy you. There is no mention of the story in my review for the simple fact that everything Mr. Goodkind wrote has a purpose and a reason for where it was said, and how. I feel any information on the story itself might ruin some of the sense of wonder this book brought to me, as everything at the beginning is a mystery. Thank you Mr. Goodkind for a great and groundbreaking novel.
Rating: Summary: Had me at hello! Review: Wizard's First Rule is a great start to the Sword of Truth books, Goodkind is a master at his writing.

Rating: Summary: why does this author hate women? Review: I bought this book because I had run out of new robert Jordan books to read. I just looked for a series of fat fantasy novels, with a lot already out, to keep me occupied. I read fast, so I bought the first three to keep me busy for a few weeks. I may not read the second and third. The story is OK, the characters not the most one dimensional I have ever seen, but why does he keep referring to rape? Every woman seems to have been raped, or nearly raped. I understand that he wants to make you hate the villains, but do they all need to be rapists and child molesters? I find it to be cheap and exploitive.
Rating: Summary: easily the most overrated book of the fantasy genre Review: Blah. Overrated, overdone, overkilled, and there are many better authors out there that write better stories.
Rating: Summary: WOW Review: THIS BOOK WAS SO GOOD THAT I COULD NOT EVEN OPUT IT DOWN, I MEAN THERE WAS NO WAY THAT YOU WHERE GOING TO STOP ME FROM READING IT. THERE WAS ALWAYS SOMETHING THAT WAS GOING ON AND IT WAS ALWAYS EVER EDGE OF YOUR SEAT. THE BEST MOMENT IN THE WHOLE BOOK IS THE PART WHERE THEY AER IN THE SPIRT HOUSE, AND WHEN SHE MADE DESSDEMMIN NASS EAT HIS OWN SAC, THAT WAS THE BEST JUSTICE I HAVE EVER SEEN IN A BOOK. BUT THERE IS SO MANY OTHER THINGS THAT HAPPEN IN THIS BOOK THAT MAKE I AN EXCELLEN READ, I DONT CARE WHAT ANY ONE SAYS, THIS BOOK KICKS A$$! I HAVE NEVER READ A SCI-FI BOOK THAT WAS LIKE REAL LIFE IN THE WAYS THAT THIS BOOK IS. BECAUSE OF THIS BOOK I KNOW THAT I M GOING TO READ MORE SCI-FI BOOKS, MORE IN THE SERIES AND ALSO A LOT MORE TERRY GOODKIND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!YOU SHOULD TOO
Rating: Summary: True Modern Fantasy Review: This is the book I've always wanted to write. It has swords, magic not taken too far, a villain truly despicable in every way, and a love story that remains its true theme. I started reading it at the urge of a friend and checked it out from the library. The first paragraph, a description of a simple root, made me put down the book and go outside to read it. I must have read it for 3 hours that first day, getting immediately soaked in to Richard's world, and dying to know what this great secret of Kahlan's was. The further the book went, the more I loved it. I was totally addicted to it, something that never happens when I read normally. At about page 700, I was surprised the book wasn't over. The end seemed happy. Little did I know. I continued reading, engrossed with Goodkind's world. When I finished the story, I was in awe, wondering how anybody could write a story that good. I suddenly felt lost. The book was over. What was I to do? This book is the fantasy lover's dream, though the countless sex scenes get really old, really fast. Violence, magic, and love (an odd threesome) lead the way. But fair warning: I'm on Book 4, and you must know that this is as good as it gets. The other three don't come close to measuring up to that masterpiece of fiction, Wizards First Rule
Rating: Summary: best book i've read in a long time... Review: There aren't many books that got me hooked the way Wizard's First Rule did. One of the top five books I've ever read, its an easy read but very detailed and enjoyable.
Rating: Summary: A huge waste of time and money Review: I tried to read this book after recommendation from several different sources. Within the first chapter I knew this is going to be a horrible book. I tired to give this book a chance in hopes that it will get better in the end, but it never did. I have been reading fantasy books for 10+ years and I have never found a book I did not want to finish at all. The storyline is very stereotypical, but if this author is going to be common at least give us some interesting characters! Instead of interesting characters the author puts his weak characters through a storyline of disconcerting things such as rape, murder, and torture. I don't know why his sold so well. I wished I could rate this lower than a 1.
