Rating: Summary: A Dream. Review: For a moment I would like anyone reading this review to please forget where you are and close your eyes and imagine, simply imagine, letting your dreams, hopes, fears, anger guide your mind into that special place where anything and everything can happen. Impossible love that can destroy the world, frighteningly powerful and beautiful magic, fantastical places, brutal battles, torture, and suspense. Do this and you will enter Terry Goodkind's world, a world where a part of every human being with dreams exists, here a fight for life has begun against forces that no one except for Richard can defeat. Enter this world and live your dreams..
Rating: Summary: Awesome book Review: Richard Cypher finds that the land he lives in is more than appear to the eye. Although he thinks he is just another guy, he soon finds out he is much more; He is the seeker. I read the other reviews and me along with the other readers where not able to put this book down. I give this book a 10!!!!!! If you haven't read this book yet, you should
Rating: Summary: A well-written book leaving you on the edge of your seat. Review: Wizrd's First Rule is an unbelievable book. Terry Goodkind places you, with Richard Cypher in the a peaceful world. This peaceful world is shattered asunder when he finds a beautiful and mysterious lady, Kahlan. Plunged into a magical part of world, which he knows nothing about (Magic or that part of the world), Richard finds himself battling new creatures, meeting new friends and enemies, being made into a tortured slave, and finally battle the most strongest wizard is all the lands. I enjoyed and highly recommend Wizard's First Rule to anybody wo enjoys action, adventure, mystery, love, and fantasy. The best part is that even though it does finish one particular story, it leaves you knowing that there will be another. The story itself is complete and I have found that many of me friends who have read the first book, are immediately undetachable from Terry Goodkind's mystical world. And just what is the wizard's first rule? Read the book!
Rating: Summary: EPIC FANTASY AVENTURE Review: GOODKIND CREATES A UNIQUE FANTASY WORLD WITH THE WIZARD FIRST RULE. HE POPULATES WITH MOMORABLE CHARACTERS AND GIVES
IT'S VILLAINS A MODERN FLAVOR. DARKEN RAHL IS ONE THE MOST
VILE VILLAINS THAT HAS EVER BEEN ON THE PRINTED PAGE.HE IS SADISTIC, RUTHLESS AND HE HAS SOCIOPATHIC TENDENCIES.GOODKIND ALSO HAS HIS HEROES WITH HUMAN FLAWS
THAT IS A WELCOME CHANCE FROM THE PERFECT HEROES YOU SEE IN MOST SWORD/SORCERY NOVELS.
Rating: Summary: Might have been a good book 20 years ago Review: I usually don't comment on books I didn't like, but Iwas expecting something more than I got out of _Wizard'sFirst Rule_. It's just an adventure story, warmed-over Tolkien--period. No subtext, no human-feeling themes, no panache. Twenty years ago when _everyone_ wasn't writing pure high fantasy, it might have fit in--but we've gone beyond that now, and Goodkind is lagging. He may make money, but I doubt anyone takes him as seriously as they would Stephen Donaldson or William Gibson. When it comes down to it, this book was just plain empty.
Rating: Summary: Best book ever written. Read it and find out more. Review: Terry Goodkind created a world that will swept readers from their seats.
Richard and The Mother Confesser with the old wizard battled for truth. Many adventures, many places, and many interesting people. So read it, it's the best, best, best book in market.
Rating: Summary: Great Book! It Moves! Not wordy. Just excellent writing! Review: This is a great book for all Fantasy readers. The plot evolves quickly. The world opens before your eyes. Its exciting. The characters are original. And its excellent concise writing, not full of unneeded descriptions of the landscapes for pages and pages. If you love Fantasy, you will love this book
Rating: Summary: This was the best book that I have ever read!! Review: I don't care what any of you have to say. I don't normally read books, but after I picked up this one and read the first two pages, I never put it down. This story starts off very fast moving and keeps you sweating. You might say this about any book, but The Wizard's First Rule never stops with the intensity. All of the way to the very last page you are sitting on the edge of your seat. I want anyone who doesn't believe me to pick up a copy of this book and read the first chapter. Then tell me if you can put it down
Rating: Summary: Opinion of the Book Review: This has to be one of the best two fantasy books of all time. The reason It isn't the best book of all time is because the sequel is it's equal. This book will captivate you from the start, and never let go until the end. You will be amazed by the author's understanding of pain, suffering, love, and life. If you haven't read this book, do so A.S.A.P
Rating: Summary: Storytelling Sucks Review: Goodkind a better story-teller? Come on! His charactersare from a comic strip...Richard=Dick Tracy! The bookis boring and sappy...if you think falling all over one another and saying "oh, I love you!" is character development, then you better read something else--like Stephen Donaldson. Richard is a horny little bog-muffin without any taste...just like most of the teenagers he's supposed to represent. Geesh.
