Summary: This book is great!
Review: I bought Homeland two days ago and finished it this morning. It kept me glued to my seat. The main character, Drizzit Do'Urden is the coolest elf ever. Great book!

Summary: Thoughtful Adventurous Story
Review: Homeland takes place in a fictional world known as Forgotten realms. The world is full of creative magic and mysterious creatures. In this Drizzt Do'Urden is a Drow Elf, one of the evil underdark races. His whole society revolves around power and bloodlust, but he feels there is more to life. His struggles to survive in such a hostile enviroment, and still stay true to his morals create many hardships he must overcome. This book has made me think about the corruption that is around in the world. I enjoyed this book greatly because of its in deapth plot and the insight it showed on the problems in the world. I recommend this book to people who enjoy fantasy, and possible real life hardships.

Summary: Clears up any Drizzt questions
Review: This book will clear ant Drizzt problems or questions you had if you were confused about Drizzt in the Icewind Dale Trilogy. Questions like: "Where did Drizzt get his scimitars?" and "How did Gwenvehar (I'm sorry if I spelled wrong) come into Drizzt's life?" This book answers some of your questions, not all. You'll have to read the next 2 to understand all or most of your questions.

Anyway, the plot is: Drizzt Dourden gets born and raised in a harsh drow city known as Menzoberranzan. He was going to get sacrificed to the Spider god, Lloth, but he wasn't the 3rd born child. This book puts down Drizzt's first 30 years in only 314 pages. I loved it, I hope you do.

Summary: Starts out slow, but picks up the pace.
Review: Homeland is by far my favorite out of the Dark Elf Trilogy. Ok, It's no Streams of Silver(my favorite R.A. Salvatore book), but it clears up all the confusion about Drizzt in the Icewind Dale Trilogy. It answers questions like "How did Drizzt get Guenevhar?," and "Where did his scimitars come from?" And, what makes it so astounding is that Homeland sums up Drizzt's first 30 years in only 314 pages. Good job, Salvatore!

Rating:Teen. Has bloodshed.

Favorite part:The wepeons training with Drizzt and Zak. Very entertaining!

Summary: Fantastic book
Review: Homeland was among the first Forgotten Realms books that I read, since I had started with Dragonlance. But aever since I read this book (and every other Drizzt book I could find at the time), I have been hooked on the Realms. The moment a Drizzt book is published, I buy it. Drizzt is without a doubt my favorite character, and of all the books about him Homeland is my favorite. Personally, my favorite part is the time he spends in the academy. Salvatore's fighting sequences are unequaled, and I could not find a single flaw in any part of this book. To not like this book is to hate fantasy.

Summary: one of the best stories about Drizzt
Review: I read Homeland and loved it I enjoyed reading about Drizzt and his earliy years and learning all about his homeland and how he grew up the story was rich in detail and you learned more about his family and the Dark Elves. I highly recommened this book and the other 2 books in this series.

Summary: It was ok...not near as good as I had hoped...
Review: You would think that as many good responses this book has generated, it would be the best book ever, however, that is not the case.

The book is well written, and the story is good, but it just could not keep my attention. I finally did finish the entire book, not ready to pick up the next, but to find my nearest File 13 (trashcan) to dispose of it properly.

Drizzt is a wonderful character, but the writer doesn't go into as much detail as I had hoped for. To be completely honest, I can't place what I really didn't like about the book...I just didn't like it.

Summary: The best book in a long time!!!
Review: Let me just say, GET THIS SERIES!!! A very interesting story line and even more interesting characters make these books the best. The troubles in Menzoberrranzan make you wonder how anyone ever survives their long, long lives thier. Wars between houses and persons, father and son, keep the story interesting. I wanted 10 stars but it wasn't allowed. I'm doing it anyway! **********
