Summary: An extremely fascinating book.
Review: I have read many of R.A.Salvatores books, and I have to say that, in my opinion, this is his best work yet. Definently the most entracing book I have ever read. I loved every page of it. I very highly reccomend this book to anybody that enjoys Salvatores work.

Summary: [Perhaps the greatest story in the history of Earth]
Review: I could provide a long description of how much I enjoyed this book by Salvatore, but you could be one page into the book if you'd buy it and start reading. This I highly recommend. :)

Summary: Very well-written, but somehow unsatisfying
Review: R.A. Salvatore proves himself worthy of being considered among the best Fantasy fiction authors writing today with this definitive novel of the brutal and deadly underground drow city of Menzoberranzan. Salvatore's novel kept me up late turning pages to reveal another chapter of the lives of the amoral and deceitful drow elves while chronicling the life of the young and troubled protagonist, the drow noble Drizzt of house Do'Urden. Drizzt and most of Salvatore's characters are well-developed and capable of inspiring strong emotion in readers whether it be hatred of Drizzt's maniacal and malevolent mother Matron Malice and her brutish, power-hungry daughter Briza or a mixture of contempt and pity for the troubled Sword-Master Zaknafein. I must confess that I was more than a bit turned off by how much of an aberration the highly ethical Drizzt proves to be within the licentious drow society. Much of the plot deals with Drizzt's internal struggles as he is unable to reconcile himself with the depraved ways of his kin and their fanatical devotion to the chaotic and evil goddess, the Spider Queen. However, as the novel progressed, I found myself hoping against hope, even though it became more and more unlikely with each turn of the page, that Drizzt would give in to the murderous ways of his race. Drizzt's high level of morality eventually made his actions very predictable and left me wanting more tales of drow deceit, murder and betrayal unhindered by a tragic hero's moral concerns.

Summary: Fantasy Fiction at its very best.
Review: I first experienced this series with the second book in this series, Exile. It was so awesome that it made me have to go out and buy all the other books. Over the past year I have read them all, and I must say that out of all 3200+ pages of this series, this book right here is the very best. I am also not timid about saying that it quite possibly could be the greatest fantasy novel ever written. Do yourself a favor and buy it now or I'll make you read that new book by Monica Lewinsky.

Summary: One of the best books I've ever read.
Review: By far one of the best books I've ever read. The characters were deep, the background and world was original, and it told a great story about Drizzt's early life. Drizzt himself is one of the best heroes I've ever read in a book. Buy it!

Summary: A excellent novel with a twist from the usual
Review: run of the mill fantasy novels. It's too bad critics of Salvatore's excellent work cannot present their criticism in a more mature manner as done below and also even more sarcastic reviews on Salvatore's other excellent works.
