Rating: Summary: The Best Book I have ever read Review: A Darkness At Sethonon combines action and fun. After playing Feists Betrayel At Krondor, I looked for any books by him. This was the best of the lot. I liked it because all the charecters were familiar to me from the game. Locklear is my favorite. It was nice to see the back story. How the dragon became the oracle of Aal, who in gods name was Macros, where these charecters came from, why there was a struggle with the Moredhel, and most important, why was their a sword in the stone at Sethanon! The part at Armengar was the best in the book, Feist showed the reader that he could make an entire city blow up. Fasinating!
Rating: Summary: Just...Wow! Review: Fiest has the gift, no doubt. A very large gift, at that! The plot wasn't quite original - the usual Fantasy build-up: find out, go on a quest, journy, fight, win... But Feist has an incredible talent to describe his world vividly. Lots of detail, just like Tolkien, only without prolonging the story unnecessarily. He allows his creative world to thrive within the reader. "A Darkness at Sethanon", even more than the other books in the Riftwar saga, is simply inspiring! The characters, for one, HAVE character. Grim Arutha, wise Pug, evil Murmandamus, shrewd Jimmy the Hand and mirthful Amos. Every different creature is a world in itself. "A Darkness at Sethanon" brings the Riftwar saga to a gripping and satisfying conclusion. Don't believe me? Ask me how long it took me to finish this amazing book...!
Rating: Summary: By far the greatest achievement of this particular author. Review: This book tells of his best duos from all of his literary works: Pug of Stardock and Tomas, and Prince Arutha and Jimmy the Hand. Feist is one of the best fantasy writers since Tolkien, and he has an incredible, imaginative world unlike any other i've found in the inspirational novels of many writers thus far. If you have not read his books, you are missing some of the most innovative and inspiring sagas ever put on paper.
Rating: Summary: Disappointing end to an otherwise great series. Review: It starts off great but comes to a predictable ending. I wish the author could rewrite this book. He's mixed up so many elements of fantasy and science fiction that it loses its focus.
Rating: Summary: An excellent conclusion to the Riftwar Saga Review: This book is almost as good as Magician (10 1/2) in terms of addictiveness and story. The magic element of Magician I always liked tremendously, and D@S captures the magic with a stunning conclusion. You must read the whole Riftwar Saga, the best series of books I have ever read by the best author in the world.
Rating: Summary: Another masterpiece Review: Fiest has once again written another masterpiece that sets him aside from all author
Rating: Summary: Derivative, confused, just plain boring. Review: I bought this book from a used-book stand for one dollar. Itwas not worth the dollar -- a candy-bar would be a better use ofone's money. I liked Feist and Wurts's Empire series, but obviously Feist cannot write without help. First, the book is filled with cliches that make you cringe and hope that he is just joking, that he really does not mean to write this rip-off of Tolkien. Second, the plot is confused, badly developed, and hard to follow. The characters are walking stereotypes, I wished I could kill them all off by page 2. Feist is a rampant sexist, he obviously does not take women seriously; his female characters are even worse than the males (if that is possible). Finally, the book is just boring. On a plane, if a very bad movie is shown in a language you cannot understand, the Feist's book may provide some distraction. On a bus or train -- looking out of the window will be much more entertaining and fulfilling.
Rating: Summary: Best of the Riftwar saga Review: A Darkness at Sethanon is by far the best book in the Riftwar saga, perhaps the best Feist book written. The story revolves around the most compelling characters Feist has created: Jimmy, Arutha, and Pug. Murmandamus' army is on the march to invade the Kingdom and in this time of need Pug is nowhere to be found. He and Tomas have gone on a quest to find the one man who can help in the upcoming battle. Meanwhile Arutha goes north to fight the invaders head on. Jimmy and his new friend Locklear tag along and the journey will turn the two mischevious youngsters into loyal men of the kingdom. This book wraps up the series nicely, and don't expect everyone who comes along to survive. My rating: 9 out of 1
Rating: Summary: One of the best books of Raymond E. Feist Review: This was my first book of Raymond E. Feist and I still rate it better than the others I have read. This book was so fantastic that I have read it through in two days! As a fan of the Warhammer Fantasy Table-Top by Games Workshop Inc. I like the story more than any other Fantasy book I've read. An awesome book and a must for every Fantasy fan!

Rating: Summary: Book: A Darkness at Sethanon Review: This is by far, Raymond Feist's best book. It is compelling, gripping and it keeps you wanting more. Unfortunately, however, this is the last book of he has written for the Riftwar Saga. From cover to cover, this book will keep you wanting more. My advice, get it.
