Summary: mixed feelings
Review: I feel that I have mixed feelings about this book. I really enjoyed the first two, and the third was also good, but too long and confusing near the end. The one thing that i loved most about the books was The Fool. He kept you laughing, and kept the book interesting with his colourful jibes. What did his kiss with fitz mean at the end? many unanswered questions. I think that molly with Burrich is gross, but you almost knew that it was coming. I loved some of the other characters as well, like patience and chade, or even regal, but found that fitz's character, while good, was somewhat lacking and confusing. overall, a good series but overshadowed by many better books that I have read.

Summary: Fantastic trilogy, rushed and depressing ending.
Review: After the Buckkeep centred tale of the first two books this is a pleasant change of setting for fitz's adventures. The ending of his quest for Verity was a very pleasant surprise (refreshing after so many "crest the final hill to find the glowing city/dragon/magic item" endings). The story not ending with a massive battle over the Red Ships was a nice change, as was the fact that Fitz was not the big hero at the end. The big let down for me was the way Fitz was left. Fair enough to lose Molly (and Kettle/Kestrel's speech on "not truly loving each other, only that time in their lives" rang painfully true for me), but for Fitz to be so isolated from all his surrogate mothers and fathers and was a major disapointment. I hope that this will lead to further tales of the Six Duchies, with Starlings comments about Fitz being an "old man in a young damaged body" giving me something to wish for. PS What did "Fitz Fixes Feists Fits" mean?

Summary: Absolutely Fantastic!!
Review: I don't think that I have ever, in the whole of my sixteen years experience, ever read a book that I have found so enthralling. Robin Hobb totally absorbed me in the characters and storylines. I would really reccomend this book to anybody who likes to read fantasy novels!

Summary: What a DISAPPOINTMENT!!!!!
Review: I enjoyed reading the first two books in the Farseer series. This final book dragged and dragged and dragged and dragged. I wondered if Fitz and his companions would ever find Verity. And when they did ----- NOTHING. It is as if the author and editor had no ideas for character or plot. The book died along with the personalities of the major characters. Then to end the 3-book Red Ship war with a 3 or 4 sentence hindsight . . . and the red ships were defeated. Unfortunately, I have already purchased the first book of Hobb's next series prior to reading Assassin's Quest. I wonder when I will have the courage to open the cover.

Summary: enchanting, as good as lord of the rings
Review: if you thought "lord of the rings" to be a good book - than you must buy this book, and fast

Summary: One of the best stories I've ever read.
Review: If you are looking for nonstop slugfests between wizards and warriors and monsters, the Farseer trilogy may not be the fantasy for you. If you are looking for a well-written story with great characters and heart-wrenching drama, told from an unsung hero's point of view (and add in some magic, just a few battles, and a dragon or two at the very end), then I think you will love these three books as much as I did. Make sure you have plenty of time to put aside for this, so you can read it slowly and enjoy it to it's fullest.

Summary: Absolutely Unpredictable
Review: I've been delving into the Fantasy/sci fi world for years. I have to say that it has been a very long time since a book/series has taken hold of me the way that this one has. There was simply no way anyone could anticipate the complicated intrigues or the slow amassing of details that sneak upon you when you least expect it. This is a fabulous new series for those who are looking for something different, original, and completely intriguing. If you like intellectual, thoughtful perusals of human nature you'll love/hate these as well.

Summary: Very Disappointing!
Review: After reading the previous books in the series, I was expecting more from the ending. The book was very interesting until he went looking for Verity. After that it was long and streched out for miles... Then to finish it with a tragic ending?!? After all that, I didn't find it believable that he would end up a hermit. And Nighteyes lazing around? I would think they would find a mate for him...or they would go hunting frequently, or something... All I can say is that it was very dissappointing.

Summary: Baseball Game, lost in the bottom of the 15th inning
Review: This book was like an extra inning baseball game. There were some great plays, but the home team lost the game. Fitz is never a character who acts, he only reacts. For the last extremely long (where's the editor?) two books, he only whines and complains. He talks about being a man, but continues to act and think like a boy. We keep hoping that he will grow up and embrace his destiny, but to the end he stubbornly holds on to his dream of Molly, with Verity having to "bargain" that dream away. He never chooses a direction; again he reacts. The strength and detail of the characterizations keeps you reading, hoping that he will finally get a chance to act; but he never does. We have spent pages and pages hearing the details of Forging, but we are not allowed to enjoy anything but a rushed epilogue hearing second hand about the Red Ship Raiders defeat. Maybe if the book had been trimmed down, we could have experienced the ending, and it would have given some sort of satisfaction. But as it is, all the characters we have spent SO long caring about, are left and dropped in one short (the only short) chapter. I do not expect everyone to live happily ever after, but I do want to see a quest fullfilled or a sacrifice joyfully given. So many double plays; so many passed balls, wild pitches and errors. This is a game that got away!

Summary: The Unexpected is what Made it so Great!
Review: This series is one of the best series i have ever read and what makes it so great is how it ended it wasnt as cliche as alot of other books are these days,"and they all road into the sun set." I thought it was brillant though i did hate that Fitz got the bad end of the stick but then i say again thats what made it so realistic. Not all stories are supposed in happiness. I say if a writer can make you feel any emotion to what is happening in the book, the writer has done his or her job, doesnt matter if you are angry, happy or you just despise every character in the book. This is only an opinion but i think its a very good one.
