Rating: Summary: The Man is back Review: Once again Mr. Salvatore takes us on a wild and fun ride through yet another world; the one of his own creation. The Highwayman was great from page one all the way to the end. I found the way he began the book and tied it to the main character quite clever and refreshing. I have yet to be less than completely impressed by any of his work and this book only adds to my great collection of Salvatore books, with many more to come. Thanx again RAS for another great ride!!
Rating: Summary: Yet another masterpiece Review: Once again, Bob brings to life Corona. It is a living, breathing place. A masterfully told tale of heroes, villains, and his trademark battles. Buy it, get it from the library, beat up a friend for it :) (j/k) Do whatever it takes to get this one!
Rating: Summary: One of the best RAS book I've read Review: Predictable is the last thing I'd call this book- its hard to believe anyone who read it could render such a description, then say they didn't buy the plot- I thought you predicted the plot? Anyway this was a fantastic book. I was totally taken by surprise by the plot twist, and have read all RAS books. The character development was excellent, the plot was exciting, and the suspense was higher than the usual RAS book. I like this new character as much as Drizzt, and would rate this as one of the best books by any fantasy writer I've ever read. I hope RAS writes a second book for the series.
Rating: Summary: Good , but not Rob's best Review: R.A Slavatore has written books worthy of a second read, this one however is not one of those. Good book, good characters, intersting twist with the asian inspired enlightenment, but just not enough to make it a great book worhty of a second read.
Rating: Summary: A Great Book! Review: R.A. Salvatore has done it again. The book keeps you guessing but pulls you along for a wonderfully written story that brings an amazing new character to life. If you have ever read a book by R.A. Salvatore you won't be disappointed with this story. If you haven't read his work before you will be pleasantly surprised at what a good story this is. You won't want to put it down! I look forward to his next novel in his work with Drizzt but this was a nice change of pace. I hope everyone else enjoys this as much as I did.
Rating: Summary: The Highwayman will steal your life! Review: R.A. Salvatore returns to the world of his own creation! it is hundreds of years before the demon wars that were visited in the Demon Wars books. Poweries are everywhere and roads are being built. Honce is becoming more setteled. Two religions fight for the people's praise, but is one really better than the other? A Highwayman appears and starts to cause havoc for the Laird of Pryd Town. Is he there to overthrow the rulership? or does he have other plans? This book is a must read for anyone who is a fan of a swashbuckling adventure story. This book will make you stay up late into the night to finish that last chapter. Since this is a Stand alone novel, it is not required to read the previous 7 books! this is a great jumping on point to become a fan of the ever-growing world of Corona!
Rating: Summary: What you've come to expect from RA Salvatore Review: RA Salvatore delivers an exciting, fast-paced tale based in the world he created. The book is what readers should expect from a fantasy adventure book; great story, great characters and a great read. The reader does not need to have read (although it's highly recommended) the Demon Wars novels Salvatore has written to follow The Highwayman. If you are looknig for action-adventure, look no further!
Rating: Summary: Some real pimpness! Review: RA Salvatore has done it again! He has written another excellent book in one of the greatest world's ever created. In the Highwayman you will grow to love, hate, loathe, and admire many characters. I finished the book in three days and when i was through i had a great sense of awe over come me as i reflected my feelings, while looking at the cover for many minutes, then going and reading the book description again. It is a great read and i recommend it highly. Also, RA Has mentioned that it would depend on sales of this book to determine if he writes anymore stories in the wonderful world of Corona. This is his own creation and it is brilliant. I also recommend reading the other seven book saga, The DemonWars saga to any and all who enjoy fantasy or who enjoy a good fast paced read. AND I LOVE CORONA AND I WANT MORE! SO GO BUY THESE BOOKS, PLEASE!!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: 3+ stars. Review: Story was too simple. Was not detailed enough. I guess the 5 stars from everyone else must have increased my expectations. Enjoyed the Fool and Fitz's ending story much better.
Rating: Summary: Salvatore Does It Again! Review: There are few authors who can, with such seeming ease, create memorable characters that are identifiable and unforgettable. The Highwayman is a continuation in the high standard of writing that is come to be expected from Mr. Salvatore. Bringing readers back to his magical and deep world of Corona, this prequel to the DemonWar Saga adds a newer dimension into the stories that have already been told to us. Origins of the Jhesta Tu and Chezhou-Lei are alluded to and the fledgling Abellican Church is seen from both its spiritual and pragmatic side. If you want a wonderful read, a compelling story, and an unforgettable hero to root for, pick this book up. You won't be disappointed.
