Summary: one night stand
Review: I do love to read, and in a world where there is so much fantasy, only a select few don't let you put down the book. I started this book around 5 in the evening and at 6:30 am the next morning I was done with it, and I kept wanting there to be more. It's been a while since the first book came out but the second one was surely worth the wait. If you haven't Discovered Kristen Britain yet, then get both of her books and enjoy. This second book sets down a solid foundation for which many more could come.

Summary: Great Read
Review: I thought this was great except for the longwinded descriptions of the sentience's actions in Blackviel Forest. I was disappointed with the end relating to Karigan and the king. It was a bit sad...But I found the description of the relationship between Alton and his cousin darkly entertaining. For the basic story action, the first book was a tad better but I love the character development in this one, especially relating to their romantic lives.

Summary: Amazing
Review: This book is fantastic, younger siblings will try to taunt you by taking FRC from you. It carries you though a time long ago and characters much loved. Stick through to the end. It is a story worthy the telling of a bard. Five years was worth the wait.

Summary: A Fantastic sequel!!!
Review: If you read Green Rider, and were anxiously sitting by your computer waiting for the Daw newsletter to tell you exactly when Kristen's next book was coming out, I can guarantee that First Rider's Call will go so far beyond what you were expecting that it will seem that mere moments have went by rather than years. A good sequel - no, this was a PHENOMENAL sequel. Riviting as a game of intrigue, fast paced, yet subtle - Kristen manages to weave a tale drastically different from Green Rider, but filled with everything a snippet hound could possibly want:

Magic? Plenty - the same fascinating Green Rider Magic from the first book, with a few kinks and bumps along the way (For the Characters that is!), and some completely new and exciting twists to keep you jumping and flipping through the pages with wild abandon :)

Magical Creatures? Eletians, Ghosts, a few.... well, I don't want to spoil it for you!

And as for Karigan, she is a little older, and finally accepting of her role as a green rider, but wait until you see how she gets there! King Zachary, Alton, Captain Mapstone... all are much stonger and more developed in the sequel, and the twisting subplots leave no one alone for long.

First Rider's Call is a more complex novel than Green Rider, but it is more a matter of Sacoridia gaining depth as it grows on you - The scenery is so clear in your mind, it is as if you were the one riding through the woods, or standing at the edge of a lake...the characters have depth, feeling, motivations, humour, and above all, a humanity that links you to their tale and won't let you go until it drops you at the last page...stretching out for the third book which is waiting, just around the corner!

Now, if only I had a time machine and could go forward a year or two to get it!

Summary: Great book!
Review: I thought this was a very strong sequel. This book added more complexities to the story of the Green Riders. In addition to the present day story we hear about the past of the green riders. Unlike many books that toss out the history of their world as an afterthought, the stories of past and present weave together in a very interesting fashion. I would strongly recommend reading this book.

Summary: Well Done!
Review: Kristen Britain's done it again with the long awaited sequel to Green Rider. We find our heroine Karigan off on another amazing adventure. Filled with danger, excitement, tragedy, and ah yes romance, First Rider's Call is and excellent sequel delivering fast paced entertainment that makes it hard to wait for her next installment in the Green Rider saga. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and can only hold my breath in anticipation for her next masterpiece. Koodos to Kristen for this amazing book!

Summary: Kristen Britain Out does herself again!!!!
Review: She further develops her characters from the first book and adds some new ones. The one thing I did like in this book is she had more Weapon involvment than the first. Fastion is one of my favorite characters. The only thing I didn't like is the relationship with the king. ... I have waited a year for this book to come out. I was not disapointed with it at all. Now I can't wait for a third.

Summary: Review of Green Rider
Review: I enjoyed the 1st book very very much. Great story telling with good ethics and values throughout the tale. My only disappointment was that it has taken sooooooo looooong for the second book to come out. I'm now reading the 1st book again to have a continuity for the 2nd book.
I have encouraged my kids to read this book.

Summary: Excellent Second Installment
Review: A very enjoyable read. Ms. Britain shows us a glimpse of a world with a complex history and varied cultures. It is peopled mainly in a traditional fantasy manner, a possible drawback for some readers, but the comfort and competence that Ms. Britain has with her characters make it unnecessary for her to reinvent this particular wheel. In this, her second book, we see her main character develop further as a person and as a force in her world. The development of other characters is also handled well and you are left with a cast of well rounded and diverse characters populating her world. Ms. Britain adventures are believable, her characters reactions realistic and her story complex and well paced. She easily keeps the reader involved and interested until the end, and left me, at least, eager for the next installment.

Summary: Whew! Seatbelts Required!
Review: Kristen is an excellent depictor of action and events. Her "Wild Ride" in the first book left me breathless for several minutes. In this book, Karrigan's "talent" for fading out of sight turns up a twist - she fades completely out of the present - but, it's still well within the parameters of the world in which she lives.

Is she a descendant of the First Rider? Hmmm... the possibility is very real... for certain, she is descended from the dispicable villains who brought calamity on the world and is, therefore, of a noble (though dubious) lineage (marriage to the king, anyone?)

As before, Kristen builds characters that you love and cherish. You will desperately want to get to know them and to be a part of their world - it becomes very difficult reading to put down. She interweavess scenes of lightness and affection with scenes of dramatic desperation and keeps an easy flow between them that never leaves you feeling that you've just teleported from one event to another without anything more than a commercial interlude.

Buy the book. By the first book (Green Rider), too, and read them both. If you like breathless descriptions of action and circumstance, you'll love Kristen Britain's deft handling of her very own world unlike any other you've ever read.
