Summary: why cant there be negative stars...
Review: I wish I gave up on this book when the better part of my judgement was trying to get through. But I thought It would get better as I read along.

How foolish I was. where is the action? where is the good stuff?

boring at best. not recommended, unless you have a sleeping disorder.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: great book
Review: I loved this book, and the whole series. I would recomend this to anyone my age ( Im 13). It is REALLY good, and make sure to read the history part in the begining of the chapters, it explains alot ( opps)

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Annoying, but very good.
Review: The first 40 pages are garbage. I doubt there are five sentences in that whole stretch that are really necessary to the story. But after that the author takes us on a ride I found myself unwilling to get off. It's true that Fitz gets nearly nowhere no matter what it is he wants to do. But the reasons for this are completely believable. What is he but a court bastard with ten enemies for every friend he makes and even those friends with some power don't dare use it to openly on his behalf. I think the author must be placed beside Kate Elliott in his ability to craft a completely believable world of court intrigue.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Good book, well written. Bad ending
Review: This book is completely unlike any book I've ever read before. The story really sucks you up and you find yourself beleiving that you are part of the story. The only bad part was the way the series ended.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Good start to a good series
Review: I really enjoyed this book! I expecially liked Fitz's character, which wasn't a typical hero at all. He did things wrong, in this book. He acted like a stupid child, as is to be expected from a guy of his age, not like a all-knowing all-forgiwing overgrown unnormal character.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Refreshing and entertaining
Review: I found this book to be a nice break from the traditional fantasy. Hobb has given the reader the feeling of being the main character. Although I'm not yet finished the 3rd book of the series I have no doubt the high level of intrigue will be found throughout.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Solid fantasy by Ogden/Lindholm/Hobb
Review: I wouldn't compare this to the works of Goodkind, Furey or Jordan like some other reviewers, but mainly since those aren't my cup of tea (though Furey and Jordan write competently often). A very solid work, where understatement is used, something you almost never see in fantasy literature. The premise, plot and setting are all solid and well-developed, and the characters are believable and interesting. Ogden/Lindholm/Hobb shows herself to be a fine writer in this work, which while not perfect is head and shoulders above most fantasy.

Summary: My first introduction to the fantasy genre
Review: When a friend of mine handed me three books and said I HAD TO read them, I didn't think I would even open them. I had never been interested in fantasy novels. As soon as I was introduced to Fitz and the fantastical world I was instantly transported to, I couldn't put this trilogy down. The farseer trilogy is a foray into a world where the brilliant characterisation and imagination of the author provokes a strong response from the reader as we empathise with the young endearing Fitz. Although the ideas developed throughout this trilogy are not new, one example is communicating with animals, Robin manages to take them that one step further which makes for compelling reading. This author changed my life, as I have been reading fantasy and science fiction books ever since.

Summary: Beautifully constructed, I couldn't put it down.
Review: What a fantastic read!. It's been a long time, in fact since I first read Dune some fifteen years ago, that I have felt that I have known characters as well as this. The imagery is very potent and the plot is woven with true class. What a book!.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: very worthwhile
Review: I read the first book and found that it contained that little extra that makes a fantasy book something you should read. In other words good entertainment. I find it not too good that some of the reviewers review the whole series. I mean I've read the first and don't want to know what happens in the third. Now I know the character will never be great. He doesn't have to for the book to be good but maybe it slackens the suspens.
