Summary: Good but not excellent
Review: The third installment of the series wasn't as good as the first two. Most of the novel was about the other two ta'veren and not Rand, not even 50 pages were dedicated to The Dragon Reborn and half the time he thought he had already gone mad. The introduction of Faile was excellent and her being a woman made it better, I was hoping her jokes and wise cracks would make up for Mats lost time. All in all this was a good book and still worthy to be in the collection.

Summary: A Pattern Develops
Review: The Dragon Reborn continues what may replace the Lord of the Rings as the most difinitive and creative fantasy series of all time. Jordan has a keen eye for detail and an ability to tell a story from a multitude of perspectives. The plot in this story finally introduces the reader to Mat, who I believe to be the most compelling character (I believe we all have a little Mat in us). The plot for this story is well set up with good character development which dumps the reader out into a very intense and worthy ending. My advice, read the book with your right hand and have The Shadow Rising (Book Four) poised in your left.

Summary: The third book continues an exellent storyline!
Review: Wonderfull story, wonderfull characters, a wonderfull world in the "Wheel Of Time" universe. For me the story continues on it's quest like theme. These type of stories are my favorite. I can't wait to read the fourth book.

Summary: Very slow begining, but great ending!
Review: His first two books were superb, but his third book was almost boring. Untill about 3/4 of the way through it got very, very good. Although i'm only on book four, because I just started, I have noticed his books vary on how good they are. For example book one was o.k, book two was great, book three was kinda lame. But still I feel, so far, that this is the greatest series of all time.

Summary: Still more of the same
Review: My reviews for this series get shorter: It's still more of the same. A long travel-log with an action finale. The story proceeds a little bit more than in part two but the negative aspects of the series remain: It is too long-winded, written in a medicore style and features characters which are not that involving. Sorry, RJ, fans, please don't send a Gray Man to my home. Review written by Oliver Naujoks, Marburg/Germany.

Summary: Depth not quite realised
Review: The depth of the first two books in the 'wheel of time series' is not as apparent in this, the third book in the WOT series, yet it still is a facinating read with the characteristic dark Jordan underflow. The Dragon Reborn continues a series reminiscent of the Lord of the Rings but which manages to escape the trap so many fantasy writers have fallen into. The characters are dealt with in depth, and a strong storyline will ensure that the next book in the series will soon be yours....

Summary: Almost a 9, but not quite.
Review: Robert Jordan is an excellent story-teller; easily one of the best I've seen in years. Unfortunately, his writing ability doesn't quite match his story telling. In contrast to the previous two volumes, this book had a quicker pace and didn't seem as wordy, even though it is about the same length. However, once again, Jordan's end to his story is anti-climatic. After carefully gathering his players in the Stone of Tear, he rushes through the climax in just a few scant pages. While providing descriptive action scenes earlier in the book, Jordan resorts once again to the horrible use of "forms" to describe Rand's battle. Instead of maintaining a quick and lively pace throughout the battle, Rand's chase through the Stone becomes terribly slow and ponderous. The fighters may as well have been slogging through the rain and mud near the docks of Tear for all the excitment it provided. This anti-climax indicates that Jordan simply doesn't understand how to use and maintain a cadance within his prose. Still, this book is much better than most in the genre and I look forward to the next in the series.

Summary: The story of King Arthur.. Reborn?
Review: This story is awsome. I like how Jordan describes his characters and makes his story feel like you are there. Jordan makes some references to King Arthur's pulling the sword from the stone... only in another fantasy world. It's great.

Summary: Mat, Perrin and "The Girls" Do Their Thing Well
Review: Just finished it last night. This is an exemplary book. It's filled with action, development of the several characters' personal relationships and qualities, and humor. In "Dragon Reborn" Rand takes off on his own not only to meet what appears to be his destiny - drawing Callandor and thus demonstrating he is the Dragon Reborn - but also to lead enemies away from his friends. Mat, Perrin, Egwene, Nynaeve and Elayne are caught up in the swirls of fate or chance, and are propelled toward Tear, too. They participate in terrific action as they all encounter minions of the Dark One. Mat stands out as he shows how brave, resourceful and downright funny he is. The "girls" and Perrin also show that they are courageous and steadfast, and Nynaeve and Egwene begin to strongly develop their skills or talents. Perrin is falling in love!? This is fun reading. Get it now.

Summary: Awesome book! Wasn't able to put it down.
Review: The pace of these books get faster and faster. I am unable to put them down. It was good to see more developement of Nynaeve, Egwene, Elayne, Matt and Perrin. It wasn't difficult to imagine in my mind what was going on. I definitely recommend this series!
