Rating: Summary: Dramatic, but sounding finished Review: This was overall an excellent book to read. I was horrified to see that the title of the book was Dragon Reborn, but in reality it had very little of Rand in it. And from the looks of it, I thought that Rand had already gone mad from the tainted One Source. I also thought that expanding on Perrin was a good idea, since you don't really know about him, except for the fact that he is a Wolfbrother. I really enjoyed seeing Perrin come to terms (kind of) with his abilities. My only problem was the fact the title did little to show what the book was about. Rand played a very small part in the plot. it also sounded like the series was finishing up, and I really didn'y like the way it ended. I mean, god, you'd think Rand would become another Kinslayer!
Rating: Summary: Amazing! Review: So. The big bad Ba'alzamon is just a servant of the REAL bad guy! This just keeps getting bigger and better. Bring on book 4.
Rating: Summary: Rand is now going to be a great hero. Review: Rand in this book ...he is a great hero. Robert is a gifted author too
Rating: Summary: This book is GREAT Review: When I read book I was amazed. I think this book can show out above the rest in this world
Rating: Summary: This really sucked! Review: I bought the audio books because I enjoyed reading the actual books so much. It was a huge mistake. The guy who reads Jordan's work is terrible. He makes the work sound melodramatic and even does the various character's dialogue with lame accents. For instance, he uses a terrible Irish accent when speaking for Thom. How d***ed ridiculous can you get! I couldn't stomach listening to the whole thing it was so sickening. Don't waste your money on this garbage. Read the books for yourself and you'll be a whole lot more satisfied.
Rating: Summary: The best book in the series Review: If you have any interest in fantasy or science fiction writing you have to read this series.I have read all eight books in the series so far, and this one is the best. Jordan is the best fantasy writer since Tolkien. You won't be disappointed if you purchase this book.
Rating: Summary: Yet another great read Review: With TDR, Jordan proves that he's the real deal. In this book there are many unpredictable plot twists and interesting character developments that leave you craving for more. A little less exciting than The Eye of the World and The Great Hunt but a fitting third installment in this epic series.
Rating: Summary: Robert Jordan has with this settled his king throne Review: Fantastic! Incredible! Enthralling! Superior! I'm out of words. This book had some really shocking surprises. Like:... Oops! I'm not here to spoil the surprises for those who still haven't started reading it. Back to the case. It was late in a saturday evening when I started reading this book. I was found six o'clock the next morning sleeping with the book on my chest. I think I read about 70-80 pages that night. The reasons are very clear. This book has brought the WOT-series even further. Mr. Jordan has in a satisfying kind of way given himself a very good point of departure to keep on writing. All of you! Let's give Jordan a big cheer!!!
Rating: Summary: Nothing is different Review: This series is getting worse and worse. I handled the 1st one ok, but after the second I asked myself, "didn't I just read this?". All the books I have read by Jordan (five-got them as gifts) are just about a bunch of unlikable, shallow, and stupid characters wandering around, until something happens at the end of the book to set up the NEXT book. O, and that prose! How many people are "stone-faced"? How many times are woman going to "fold their arms under their breasts"? Why is everyone so sexist? Jordan also throws in mindless Trolloc attacks, seemingly to pad the book. Maybe he gets paid on a per word basis. This book has to be for a younger crowd.
Rating: Summary: the book has lots of imaginatiion Review: What hit me the most about the book was how it was set. Everything seemed like a perfectly odinary village life village life setting, until I reached page seventy, then the real action began. The characters are brilliant, my favorite was Nynaeve and Lan, I loved the romance between them and was happy to see them finally married in book seven. I've read all his eight books, although I must say I was dissappointed at book eight, it wasn't as good as the others, and dare I say jordan is slacking abit. ALTHOUGH ONE CAN'T BLAME HIM, WRITING IS HARD WORK, ESPECIALLY WITH THIS TYPE OF SERIES, WHERE JORDAN HAS SUCCESSFULLY CREATED A WHOLE NEW WORLD!!! I think the best thing about book one was how Jordan was successful in getting the readers invovled in a this world and the idealisms around it. The Aiel reminded me rof african people. The way the society was organised, and the very political game of houses. I loved the fact it started with simple village boys who had to go out into the world on a journey of discovery because we as the readers went on the journey too. I couldn't stand Matt I thought he was such a prat. Egwene got on mmy nerves too. But besides that everything was fine. This book deserves to be made into a film, it could be even bigger than star wars. The way the theme of magic was used is fantastic, Moraine was great, very cool and controlled yet powerful. I loved the exchange between her and Nynaeve. I find it hard to believe that Moraine loves Thom but that's what everyone says, I personally don't see the sense in it afterall Thom hates aei sedais after what they did to his cousin( sorry I spelt it worng). I can't wait for The character of Perrin was another big hit, a strong but strangely sensitive young man who as the journey went on began to develop powers that allowed him communications with wolves. This power makes his character extrodinary. I love the way Jordan shows how the strange powers in the three men grows. Also the idea of good and evil, the dragon against the dark one was good. It does remind one of religious imagery. On the whole this is a top book, if you haven't read it believe me you haven't lived. Forget "the lord of the rings" and get onto "The Wheel of Time".
