Summary: It's all right...
Review: This book is, I must say, rather slow-paced, but at least we're getting SOMEWHERE. I like books that lead to something, and because of the faster pace of the previous books, I'm glad Mr. Jordan slowed down. Besides that, don't you ever think that Mr. Jordan might be having a slight problem with the storyline or something? You're accusing him of something just because of one book. It's not fair to him or to others who might want to read this book.

Summary: Add me to the list of completely disgruntled former fans
Review: Unfortunately, one star is the least you can give in a review. To anyone who is considering picking this book up: DON'T. To those of you who were caught up by the three (at least) outstanding books that began the series, I share in your misery. I read the first 6 books in about two weeks from start to finish. Including going to the bookstore repeatedly to pick up the next volume. This book has taken me OVER TWO MONTHS to get through. Absolutely dreadful. NOTHING HAPPENS in the book. My prayer is that RJ will read the now-over-1000 comments on this book which almost uniformly lament the crushing nosedive the series has taken. You have been swindled! Obviously, noone would pick up the eighth book in a series without reading the earlier volumes. The early books are the BAIT and this is the SWITCH. I don't want to resort to the long-winded drivel that RJ has such a keen hand for, in sum- THIS BOOK SUCKS! Had I known better, I would have foregone the pleasure of reading the earlier quality books if it meant not having to trudge through this miserable offal to find out what (if anything) happens. I, too, want my money back.

Summary: A Very Boring Read
Review: I had been looking forward to this book since finishing book seven. Unfortunately, this book was a huge disappointment. I didn't understand how it had such a good rating here on Amazon, so I decided to let others know I thought it was a long, tortuous read.

P.S. I wonder how high the rating would be if you removed the opinions that were posted before the book was put on the market.

Summary: The plot is just way to slow.
Review: When I started reading Jordan I loved his series. No other series has the depth or complexity that Jordan has created. But the POD just doesn't go anywhere. It is so convuluted that one wonders if Jordan knows what the eventual ending will be. Is he ever going to get there? If you are into the series keep reading and pray things pick back up. If you haven't started the series, do not start it now. You will be hooked early on and sorry when you read the last installments that have stalled out.

Summary: Amazing writter goes capitalist
Review: The Wheel of Time Series began as one of the greatest epic stories, but things have changed. Robert Jordan provided quality fantasy in his first two books. After that the story went into slow motion. The once fast paced adventure turned into a long boring story. From the third book on, Jordan has dragged the story at an incredibly slow pace. I only read the 8th book because I wanted to see what would happen to the Dragon Reborn. My advice is to not start the series, because you will become a slave to it.

Summary: People don't understand how great this series is
Review: Jordan is a great writer and PoD is a great book. If you complain because it is not as faced past as the other books, especially the first ones, then you do not understand the sheer magnitude of this epic series. If the people calling for the series to end in two more books get their wish, then I would be sorely disappointed. This epic deserves however many more books it needs to finish. Its like saying cut out half of the movie Titanic because its over three hours long.

I have enjoyed each book in this epic for different reasons. This first ones mainly for the main characters' innocence and now i'm enjoying for the continuing maturity of characters and the story itself with the complex storyline that is evolving. Compared to this book the first ones were very simple.

If Jordan was really in this for the money, then he would have caved in and ended the epic several books ago for fear it would too long and complex for his readers. This isn't a comic book that was meant to just entertain. This is a REAL novel

I would like to thank Jordan for keeping his integrity

Summary: Let's get this moving...
Review: Okay, don't get me wrong. I've been addicted since book 1. But, sadly to say, I'm waiting for the paperback from now on... The story had all of the elements I've come to expect and enjoy, but just didn't go anywhere! Never thought I'd hear myself say this, but let's wrap it up already. Vamping for time just isn't working as well anymore. :(

Summary: Get on with it!
Review: The last 4 books have been like a treadmill. The same thing, over and over and over again. The first 4 books were wonderful. I loved every one of them. ...But it looks like we are now just being led about out for our dollars. Everything that has been accomplished in the last 4 books could have been told us in 1 1/2 or 2 books. We're being force fed cereal filler here. Let's stop the treadmill and finish the story. Give us some real accomplishments. Give us some conclusive movement toward the final battle. We are putting money in the pockets of Jordan and the publisher. Let's start getting something for our buck again. ...Like we did with the first 4 books.

Summary: Why would someone publish Half a Book and all Trash?
Review: The Eye of the World was a Magnificent book. The Author did a Wonderful job. From there the Series continued seemed to be going great, right up until around Book Six. A Crown of Swords seemed to begin pulling the Series from the Brink of Disaster and I waited longingly for Book Eight. Oh the Disappointment! The Book seemed a Half Written telling of trivial sidelights. Nothing from Book Seven was brought any where near an end and suddenly we have this Wretched Book heading off in its own direction. Not to mention the fact that the Author created some almost facinating (but still Very Boring) story lines at the very end of the book. May Shai'tan Himself reach out and Thump the Author if He doesn't get his act Together and Wrap this Series up! The Wheel certainly never willed for the Series to be so painfully Deranged and Long. I Beg That this End Soon. Eddings cleverly kept his at five books in a Series. Then by demand, brought the Characters back for A DIFFERENT ADVENTURE!!! I was forced to stop reading many a good series because some people do not know how to quit.
