Summary: What happened?
Review: A lot of people seem to be reviewing this book based on plot but it's very simple to me. This is the first book in the series that I didn't read a second time. In fact, I read the first couple books over just to remind myself of the magic that was once in the series. I have great faith that the next couple books will be better but the last two have left me wondering if Jordan would have been better off not taking his time. He was on a roll...now, I just don't know.

Summary: WAKE UP READERS!!
Review: Quit complaining! If you enjoy the series, what does it matter if it takes 10 or 15 books to complete it. Myself, I think PoD was alot better book than the trash I've been picking up lately. The book is great! I suggest you go back and read the previous books, then you will see how much this book has progressed the series.

Summary: A bad volume in a good series
Review: After waiting so eagerly for this volume, I was greatly disappointed. And I'm only at the half-way mark. First, there are so many character names that need not be introduced or mentioned. It seems that they are introduced just to fill out the pages. I have to keep turning back the pages just to remember who they are. Most of the time, they are of no significance. Secondly, the sentences are so complicated that I've to reread it a few times to understand what they are actually saying. Third, the pace of the book is such a let down. Just last night, I was reading the build-up in the tension and towards the anticipated confrontation between the Aes Sedai. I struggle until 1230am to get to the part of the anticipated confrontation, and when I finally reached it, it turn out to be a such a tame event. Nothing happened. Not even hot words, much less about actions. Mr. Jordan, I hope you'll improve your story telling and writing skills. I also hope you didn't write this book because you want to get more royalties form us readers. If your intention is to create a world full of unforgetttable characters and places, pls read Tolkien's LoR. I agree with an earlier review that the WoT series cannot enjoy the rereadability of some series by Tolkien, Eddings or Feist. I've reread LoR about 10 times, the Belgariad and the Rift War series about 5 times. But for the WoT series, I'll only read it once. No more.

Summary: Pretty disappointing. Downright bbboorrrringgggg!!!!
Review: Of all the books in the series, "The Path of Daggers" was the most disappointing of all. I really enjoy the other seven books, and found them quite engrossing and rivetting, that I read each book several time. This book, however, was real struggle to read. It was boring. I was really disappointed that the plot wasn't going anyway. When I found out that the title of book was tPofD, before the book became available, I thought that Mat would be in the book, since he was only major character to use a dagger. But he was nowhere to be found. The next two books need to be lot better than this one, and plot need to pick up the pace bit, otherwise Jordan will lose even more readers.

Summary: Where is this series going>>
Review: Just finished reading the book, and I cant figure out where Mr Jordan is going. I am beginning to believe that he might have NO clue how to end the series, or that he does and the publishers are making him drag it out a few more books. This series is without a doubt the best I have ever read, but I feel it could have been concluded within 6 or 7 books without diminishing the storyline. I hope that Mr Jordan can finish the story strong, to bring back disappointed fans.

Summary: Instant gratification can't appreciate it
Review: The Wheel of Time series is, without a doubt, incredable. If some individuals feel the series is longwinded - fine, but don't bring a great book down because you want continual action continually. Mr. Jordan taking to long with series? Yes. Series still vivid and entertaining? YES. If you don't want to read then I suggest you go somewhere else. If you want an incredable series, this is what you want.

Summary: One of the Best Books in the Series
Review: Although I definitely disagree with the way Robert Jordan describes women and the male - female relationship , I would say that there is far too much good STUFF in this book for it to be viewed as unworthy and the Worst in the Series . In my opinion , the worst book was Book #3 and since then only Book 6 has had some undesired elements.

While reading this book ("The Path of Daggers") , readers should take into consideration the fact that it is a part of an EXTREMELY prolonged story - line , which , in the end , would extend over 15 , 16 or even more books . For this reason , not all books could include action , and action , and action . Actually , I , myself , would feel betrayed as a reader if they did . Book #8 clarified some of the "mysteries" posed in Book #6 , but not integrated in Book #7 . I do believe that even Book #9 of the series would resemble in style Book #8 , because there are still several problems left unanswered , which , however , are too important to be given less consideration than required .

In this book , two of the main characters develop - Rand and Egwene . Although , emotionally both are to be viewed immature ( read other comments on the male - female relationship in the novel ) , the intellectual capacity of both Rand and Egwene widens . For the first time , Egwene is not dependent on anyone and takes decisions for herself , while Rand begins to clarify for himself the reason he opposes the Dark One . In almost all preceeding Books , either Moiraine, or Nynaeve are taking the decisions instead of Egwene , while Rand wages a war against Darkfriens , Black Ajah Aes Sedai , and Forsaken , but he has been doing it because there is no one else who could do it , because it is his duty . As Lus Terin becomes an integrated part of Rand Al'Thor's personality , the result , the Dragon Reborn , has a clear idea why he battles the Dark forces - for revenge .

Reading is something more than action and every piece ever written has something that deserves attention! You just have to find it.

Summary: Too high expectations
Review: Many people waited long for this book, and therefore had very high expectations. Too high in my opinion. The book is a average book in the series, and doesn't bring any new information on anything. But it is not before we have the next book that we really can judge the path of daggers. tPOD builds you up towards the next book in much bigger degree than any of the previous, and it might look like the end of the book has been cut out to be printed in the next. When the next book comes everyone will probably see why the path of daggers is a good book.

Summary: Get with the programe
Review: Mr. Jordan, please listen to the maoning fans who were longing for this book. Listen to the prayers of countless fans to do something with the interesting characters. We hoped for something good and snappy, not for a description of every grassy hill in West-by-South-West Nowhere where a group of non-personality women are walking to a place where they do something at the end of the book what they could've done in a paragraph of the first chapter! This part is not only boring, it is also gut wrenching! Doctor Jordan, don't just stand there, operate!

Summary: My favorite story of all time....though
Review: This is without a doubt the best story ever written. The Wheel of Time has kept me up many night and I know it will continue to do so. To all the people complaining that the PoD is only a filler, I agree with you. But when you say it is unnecessary I disagree, and I know no matter what you say you'll pick up the next book as quickly as I would. I never wanted to become addicted to anything...but there are for worse things to be addicted to. I recommend this series to any and everyone. Am upset that Mat wasn't in this though.
