Summary: It's been fun, but.......
Review: This has been a fun series. Time for all good things to end, though. If there isn't a drastic change, I fear this will violate one of the great rules of story telling: "...and they lived happily ever after" is a great way to end any legend, no matter if it seems childish, and this seems to be heading in any direction but a pleasant end.

Summary: It's gonna be a never ending journey!
Review: I'm a fan in Korea. I found this awsome novel when I was visiting my parents on Guam. I've been getting only paperbacks but I have all copies, and never had failed to read THREE TIMES! I'm still waiting for the paperback of book 8. I have a request to have hardcover and paperback on sale at the same time. Thanks

Summary: Take out the trash
Review: Yet another in a series already grown overly long, A Path of Daggers manages to drone on for excessive length and take up space on your bookshelf, all without having any plot, story, or merit to speak of. This once enthralling series has grown stale and tired - it seems that the "path of saggers" Robert Jordan speaks of is the one a person must travel in order to trudge through this series.

(On a side note: Being a bestseller does *not* equate quality. Some nimrods may do themselves well to learn this)

Summary: The best one in the series so far!!!
Review: Once i picked up the Eye of the World, i just couldn't put it down. It got me lunch detention for reading during class. But it was worth it. Please Robert Jordan, keep dishing out the books. i can't wait for number 9. Peace Out!!!

Summary: A high speed adventure, put on turbo!
Review: The fastest book yet in the series. Don't pick up the book at bedtime because you'll not go to sleep that night.

Summary: Stay away...far, far away!!!
Review: I don't like to beat a dead horse here, but I believe Mr. Jordan has beaten me to the punch! He lost me completely in book one of the series (Eye of the World). On the suggestion of a friend, I gave the book a sincere try. But after 400 pages of sheer torture, I just had to put it down. Am I ever glad I did! Not only is his concept trite, Mr. Jordan simply has little talent for writing or arousing the interest of earnest Fantasy readers...unless cheap comic books are your thing.

I come from the world of J.R.R. Tolkien, Stephen R. Donaldson, Frank Herbert...to name a few. These are authors who created actual worlds in which you could live and breathe, and who wove a rich tapestry of believable characters and events. Mr. Jordan's work can't hold a candle to these masterpieces. This is bubble-gum kiddie-kitsch at its best. Save your hard-earned money and valuable time, folks and...STAY AWAY!!

Summary: Great, leaves me wanting more
Review: I find Robert Jordan's style in these books has me riveted. I like the way he jumps from one character to another. It takes great talent to be able to do it. Robert Jordan has pulled it off with style and finess, I hope that his new book is out soon. I look forward to it.

Summary: Bobby, Bobby, Bobby...how about some closure already?
Review: I love the plot lines. I love the characters. I love the cross-generational, cross-era histories and interweavings. I love the feeling of seeing both sides of the misunderstandings between the men and women, and think Jordan does a great job of developing personalities and conflicts. In short, I am an avid fantasy reader who believes this is one the best series ever.

And yet. And yet. After eight voluminous tomes, I see no closure in sight, unless Mr. Jordan changes his current style and brings everything to a sudden close. I thoroughly enjoy these novels and anxiosuly await each new one, but I have to admit I grow impatient for some resolution.

Of course, once the series IS done I will wish for more. Call me fickle.

Summary: Is this a transition book?
Review: From reading this book, I get the impression that he is using it to make a transition into a new plot. It seems to me that Robert Jordan wrote this book for the sole purpose to resolve a lot of old issues that the other books brought up. Maybe he felt that he needed to clear the air for the next book. Also, I've read a lot of other peoples reviews, and most complain that the story is getting too complex and difficult to keep track of. I, on the other hand, feel that this complexity makes this story stand alone from all others. I personally don't have any difficulty at all following all the intricate twists and turns of the Wheel of Time. This is because, every time a new book comes out, I start from the very beginning of the series to familiarize myself on the story. This is taking longer and longer to do each time (two whole months the last time) but is very enjoyable nonetheless. Doing this helps me keep all the plot twists and many characters fresh in my mind as I tackle a new book in the series.

You'll have noticed that despite my high praise on the book and the series, I've only given it 3 stars. This review is about this one book, and as far as PoD is concerned, it is definately not a stand alone book. The entire Wheel of Time series is, of course, an easy 5.
