Summary: Worst of the series - so far
Review: If this is the level from here out, Jordan has bitten off more than he can chew. Rather than tying things together, he appears content on adding as many threads as possible. This may speak well for his imagination, but the result is a weakening of the tale.

At this point I don't know who has become more flatulent, Jordan or Goodkind.

Summary: Mr. Jordan has forgotten something.
Review: I think Mr. Jordan has forgotten something during his years of writing. You can not offer a starving man steak and wind up feeding him saltines. He may be gracious. But do not expect him to be happy.

Example: My expectations for Book #8 was to see the story of how Matt brings the Seanchen into Rand's fold of armies, and how Rand moves further West to deal with the Children of Light. ( a.k.a. Steak). What I got was a book about Rand's first failure in battle and judgement (showing him to be human and steering him towards finally accepting help from others) and a lot of political maneuverings by minor characters (a.k.a. Saltines). You CANNOT stoke people's anticipation about Matt's disappearance, have people wait for a year and a half, and then write nothing about it! Of all the books Mr. Jordan has written, the books in which he has failed to include sufficient detail about the Main characters have been the most disappointing. Book #8 is no exception to this rule. Many people have written reviews saying that criticism is unwarranted, that he is building towards something and we need to tough it out. To them I say we would not have read Book #8 if we were not toughing it out. My point is this; Good book's are few and far between. When one must wait 1.5 to 2 years to read the next book in a story you care about, and find 600+ pages of sub-plot, you can understand the hostility.

Summary: Path of Daggers
Review: I have no review, except he hasn't produced anything significant since his first book of the series. And, obviously he's another Stephen King (i.e. The Dark Tower series) that wants us to wait til the end of time for his furture books to finally end the blasted it thing! .

Summary: A Jordan fan from Sydney Australia
Review: Why is this book critisized so badly? It is a better book than what it is portrayed to be. True, the storylines of Elayne, Nynaeve and Egwene, move at a slumbering pace, yet this has been the case with them in all of Jordans books. Path of Daggers moves in my opinion, at a smoother pace than LOC and CoS, especially CoS. This book takes too much slack, stop judging it and see it for what it truly is; a stepping stone to the final books of this epic series. The Wheel of Time is a series that has redefined fantasy, no longer are fans of the fantasy genre, thought of as geeks who play dungeons and dragons all day. Instead the popularity of this series has given a new respect to fantasy and its fans; the series is on a set path to the final battle, so if Jordan feels he has to write another 10 books to set up the most anticipated ending in modern fantasy or another 3, then that is his choice. Stop whining about the series never ending and just enjoy each book as it comes, just remember that it took Tolkien more than a decade to write the Lord of the Rings.

Summary: I really hate giving poor reviews...
Review: and I just can't bear to give this book anything less than three stars. These books (Wheel of Time series) are really interesting and enjoying to read. I would even go so far as to say that they are quite addicting.

However I think that Robert Jordan needs to take a course in basic grammar. His prose is annoying. It's one thing to use a few stylistic fragments, misplaced modifiers, or comma splices, but I find that RJ takes such techniques to an extreme, resulting in an often distracting text. I realize that RJ is not James Joyce and that I should not be expecting Joyce quality work, but, however enjoying that these books are, I feel that I would find much more enjoyment if my eyes didn't keep running into confusion as to whom is doing the action.

If you are trying to decide a great fantasy epic to read, read The Lord of the Rings. If you've read all the Tolkien that you can find and are looking for another epic, you might want to consider the Wheel of Time.

And that's my review.

Summary: the book might not be action packed but it has alot of info
Review: The 8th book in The Wheel Of Time is one of a kind in a seies. mainly following the main women characters around. Like the 5th book the 8th book doesnt have alot of fighting but instead alot of important information which any series needs. Without theses books the series wouldnt be readable and would be bland. The Path Of Daggers in my oppinion changes the view I have on the characters and makes me see them in a whole new perspective. New charactors are added in this book but they are mostly irrevolent. Like always you forget your reading and you vizualize whats going on,one of jordans masteries. Of course like always the ending is so intence you cant stop reading the book. In my oppinon jordan's books are not like books but a third persons view on another world and another time

Summary: Better than Crown of Swords
Review: The story line does not advance very far, but the interactions between characters are continually interesting.

This one is a considerable improvement over Crown of Swords, in which it seemed 200 pages were wasted in overwrought, anxious hand-wringing over whether various allies of Rand would start fighting each other, or stop trusting each other, or stop trusting Rand, etc., etc. Such hand-wringing does occur here, in passages about the motley group of women led by Elayne and Nynaeve, but it's more limited and not as overdone.

Summary: last battle, will it ever come
Review: I read all of his 8 books, sad to say i am getting more and more disappointed with Jordan. The story never seems to end. If you follow his books, is there any need for egwene or elayne or her near sister. The only character that does anything in the book is Rand'al Thor. Jordan should complete the series. Will the LAST BATTLE EVER COME? I am pretty much sure by the time the last battle comes, i will be old myself and facing my own last battle, it has been more than 5 years since the beginning of the series. Doesn't jordan think that his fans should see some sembelence of ending.

Summary: How to FIX this series
Review: While reading book 8, I kept wondering where the magic of the first 5 books went. I could hardly put the first books in the series down and found myself caught in the magic, history, humor and fun of those books. I found the process of reading this book a drudgery. I kept waiting for something interesting to happen. It didn't.

Here is my plan to improve this series:

Gather all of the insignificant minor characters in this series (we all know who they are) and balefire them. Burn them from all our memories. The first books had 3 major plots to advance, centered on the three main characters. Let's get back to that and skip all of the page filling garbage of the last two books.

Summary: Forever addicted
Review: I've read and re-read this series more times than most people would consider sane. I cannot help it. It shades just about every aspect of my life. And it distresses me that anyone can put it down. A Path of Daggers isn't the best book in the series, but I wasn't disappointed and put off from the series itself. Every time I read the WoT I find something new, which helps wave off my short attention span. I will recommend the Path of Daggers to anyone who will listen.
