Summary: I can't pick a favorite!!!!
Review: This book was right up there with the others! But I do have a small complaint. C'mon, Robert Jordan, after eight books, how kind is it to leave your fans hanging with that ending! Other than that, it's just as good as the others!

Summary: Love this series--keeps growing on me
Review: The only problem with this series is that I read it much faster than Jordan can finish and publish a new one--what to do with time left over? Sheer agony!

Summary: disappointing - repetitious- and at times downright boring.
Review: I resent it bitterly when Authors with Jordans gifts take believable and although not always likeable characters and turn them into simple minded unbelievable jackasses who could never survive in the world Jordan portrays. There is an end to every story and I think it is about time the readers reached the end of this while there is any interest left in the characters involved. Mr Jordan may write untill they nail him into his box but, that doesn't mean people will continue to read his books if he continues on the path he is now following. How many more books will have to be read to reach the end of the wheel Of Time series. I am 67 years old. At this rate I won't live that long so perhaps I will quite while I am ahead.

Summary: Like the NBA strike: who cares?
Review: Nothing new since book 4, although I really enjoy long, good books. Some fans take umbrage about the negative comments others have written about the length of the series, although size doesn't matter (at least that's what my wife says!. However, I want some character development, some progression of the plot and would it kill the fabulously wealthy Mr. Jordan to include a synopsis with each book? I am not going to read another book in this series until he has written the concluding book, and then I'll probably end up only reading the final 100 pages. Luckily my local library carries this series so the only thing I've wasted has been my time, not my money. I sum up the series with the following analogy: books 1-4: the movie "Jaws." Books 5-8: "Jaws 4."

Summary: The usual fine storytelling of Jordan without the passion
Review: The Path of Daggers was , as usual , a refreshing new continuation of the Wheel of Time series , but lacked the passion and edge gripping suspense of the past books of the series. Anyone not engrossed in the story , and with a good memory and imagination , would find the reading rather dry. I myself , being a fan of Jordans for the past 10 years , and having hungrily gobbled down the past books of the series , found myself waiting for the suspense to start , and the characters that they didn't mention left me wanting an explanation. I am hopeful that Jordan does not let us down , even after having gone this far in a story that has the potential to be the epic fantasy novell of all time. While I rate this book only 3 stars , the series so far is an unabashed "10" in my eyes.

Summary: A true fan stays loyal and simply enjoys reading Jordan.
Review: First I'd like to state for the record, that if R. Jordan continues writing this series for another 20 year's I will honestly buy them all ! Before I received Path of Daggers I made the mistake of reading the reviews found on this page and was fairly convinced that it would be a major let down ! Thank the light that I failed to mention the disappointment I felt to my wife who got me the book and The World of Robert Jordan's The Wheel of Time. Second, I'd like to say what do people expect from someone who created his own world and has kept us on the edge of our seats for how many years? The only thing that perhaps displeased me was the fact that this was the shortest book of the series so far!Other than that I agree with the reviewer that said that we "True Fans" will continue to buy them year after! Remember "The Wheel Weaves as the Wheel Wills" !!! Robert Jordan may he live forever in the light.

Summary: Too many words - too little content
Review: This last installment of the WoT tale is a huge dissapointment to me. The author seems to be aimless and drifting. If the next book is not billed as the final episode, I won't waste my time.

Summary: Utter Crap
Review: I sort of expected this after the last book, but even I couldn't believe the depths to which Jordan has fallen in this book. Utter crap doesn't begin to describe the tripe that is contained in these 900 or so pages. Out of consideration for his readers Jordan should finish off with the series before he completely decimates an initially interesting series. This last book has shown that Jordan doesn't even belong in the same universe as J.R.R. Tolkien. Even a single star is charity in this case.

Summary: Buy this book ONLY for its cover!!!
Review: The only good part about this book is that it looks very impressive on my library shelf next to the other 7 volumes. Otherwise, there is no other way to justify the trees sacrificed to put this book in print. As an example, it took over 100 pages to describe a journey that Elaine and Nyvene took that at most, could have been told in 10 pages.

Talk about much ado about nothing. The story line doesn't progress and new characters are introduced with little or no relevancy to the plot other than to confuse the reader with more meaningless names and backgrounds. And the stupid references and mineutia that went on ad nauseum!!! Are we to really believe that an Aes Sedi who is capable of incredible destructive powers up to and in some cases including balefire, is frightened of being switched with a stick? In fact Aes Sedi think and talk so much of either being switched or switching someone else, that I get the distinct feeling that there are some silver studded, shinny black leather underware under those Aes Sedi's shawls.

Where have you gone Robert Jordan? You started out so good. This book is a travesty to your fans but more important, its less...much less...than your capabilities. Both your fans and your integrity deserve more. Unless there is a dramatic re-commitment to quality storytelling, my WoT hardcover collection ends at volume 8.

Summary: It was slow... but I think it is the calm before the storm.
Review: The problem is that I expected to much to fast, and well if I had gotten what I wanted it would have ruined the story... a never ending one mind you... people just dont like the slow moving politics in the last book. Mr. Jordan did an excellent job setting the stage for a bigger better next book. It just wasnt full of action. Patience my friends, I'm sure the book to follow wont leave us with a bad taste in our mouths. Afterall, if we didnt have patience we shouldnt read the books at all. Thank God for patience.
