Rating: Summary: great read Review: This is a great read for any one who is a fan of the game or action sci-fi.
Rating: Summary: a great read! Review: this was one of the best books i have ever read in my life. The game was awesome and the book was just as good. The plot was incredible and it never got boring. One of the best things about the book was that even though i have beaten the game a couple of times, i didnt get to a part that i said "this is boring, i learned all this in the game". even people who know nothing about the game would enjoy it without confusion. the only downside (hardly a problem) was that it skipped around a little. one chapter it was 20 years later than the last.still a great book!!
Rating: Summary: Halo Rocks! and so does this book! Review: I am generally discriminate of new fiction/science fiction because I've been fairly disappointed in the lack of quality and style I find in recent fiction. BUT...this is a great book. I couldnt put it down. Great character development. Nothing was silly or unbelievable.
Rating: Summary: An Exellent Book... Review: This book is great. I read it in two days. It really makes the game make more sense, and you learn more about the main character. This book is a must read for people who havent even played the game.
Rating: Summary: A mixture of many other stories, but still fresh Review: Halo is an epic story that should be read by anyone who enjoyed the X-Box game of the same name. (Note - There were people who didn't enjoy it?) The basic story reminded me much of the Ender's Game series and it's progression is well done. Though the book jumps around a bit, the story is understandable and doesn't confuse you too much if you haven't played the game. I really enjoyed reading the book and after finishing it, I went straight to my X-Box and replayed the game. I believe that the book should be taken into serious consideration for filming a motion picture because with the recent news of a Crazy Taxi and Dead or Alive movie, the industry needs to make a movie based on a game that has a REAL storyline!! The book fleshes out the Halo universe and gives you a much more informed and respectful look on the Master Chief, whom you play as in the game, and Captain Keyes, whom you don't get to know much of in the game. Captain Keyes is especially interesting in the book and is quite tactically brilliant, though you are never shown his great ability in the game. If you liked the game and have unsolved answers or just want to read an enjoyable novel, you should read Halo: The Fall of Reach.
Rating: Summary: WOW!!!!!!! Review: This book was the best book I have read in my entire life. The game(halo on xbox) is also the best game on a game system I have ever played. The book was so clear and intense that I read it twice.Even if you did not play halo on xbox yet, read the book, I garentee you, you will read it twice.
Rating: Summary: An very good book to read if you are a Halo fan! Review: I thought this book was great. I really like the game Halo, so this book was a joy to read. It was interesting to lean about what happened to Reach and how humans came to get involved with the Covenant. The into to the game creates a lot of questions, and the book pretty much answers them. So I do recommend this book to anyone interested in sci-fi, and especially people who are Halo fans.
Rating: Summary: Halo: Best game no matter what Review: I think Halo is the best designed game ever even better than GTA3 for PS2.
Rating: Summary: Kinda like Starship troopers, but without the proof reading. Review: Imagine Starship Troopers (the book) and then imagine it as being a little easier to read and without the bugs. Thats "The fall of Reach". Overall a good SciFi book, which is even better if you are a fan of the game. My one complaint is that the editing is a little sloppy. Nothing that will hinder the enjoyment of the book but enough to make you scratch your head once or twice.
Rating: Summary: If you liked the game, read the book Review: Halo: The Fall of Reach is better than you would expect from your average computer game adaptation. The plot, though nothing special in itself, is at least well thought out. The writing is not fantastic, but it could be much worse. Still, an interesting read. Some of the training of the SPARTANs is somewhat unrealistic at points, and the military discipline they exhibit tends to be overbearing; sometimes it's just plain incorrect. If you liked the game for its story as well as its graphics and gameplay, give it a shot. Don't expect a masterpiece.
