Summary: I own 3 copies of this book
Review: Last winter my daughter phoned me and said,"Mom, you are a member of a cult, the HAB theory cult." She gave me a Web address, I went to the Internet, and read all the pages. I had purchased my first copy of The HAB Theory in 1977, in Singapore, (I lived there from 1975 to 1982). I read the book 3 times in the first month and the 3rd time through I listed all of the historic references (for further reading). I now own three copies of the book- the U.K. edition, pubished by Sphere, I lend to friends - a U.S. paperback is for my own use, and a "like-new" hardback is the only book in my bank vault. I have always been a science buff and this book answered so many "unexplainables". I recommend this book to everyone, it changed my thinking and it may change yours.

Summary: I think about this book more than once a year.
Review: This is one of the few books that has stuck with me over the years -- I read in in the late 70s and over the years my copy has dematerialized -- in the possession of some other devotee, I am sure -- I do hope that Mr. Eckert is able to negotiate a contract for reprint. I would buy more than one, since the book seems to have a life of its own.

Summary: Totally believable science fiction
Review: When I was in college in the late seventies I purchased this book from my college bookstore. I loved this book it held me in its grip from beginning to end. My whole family and even my neighbors read it. We found ourselves saying "and then the lights went all over the world". Over the years the book got lost I hope to find another copy .

Summary: PLEASE RE-PRINT THIS BOOK!!!
Review: My husband received this book from his 8th grade English teacher in the late 70's. After we married, he suggested I read it. I did and found myself pacing the floor towards the end of the book. I felt as if the floor had literally 'dropped out from underneath me' at the end. Those of you who have read the book will understand what I mean. Unfortunately, I loaned the book to someone who never had the courtesy to return it. I'm very sorry for that, especially since it is out of print and obviously difficult to find. I strongly recommend that if you ever should stumble across a copy of this book you read it! I'm not the 'scientific' type, but even I could follow the theory. I'm not so sure that it isn't a theory that should be taken seriously and scare the hell out of us. It sure made me think hard and I haven't forgotten it since! I have recommended it to many people. If the publisher/author should be so kind as to re-print this book, I can promise that I will buy extra copies to loan out so that I never lose my own!

Summary: The underlying theory: indisputable; Mr. Eckert: wonderful.
Review: This book, read by me in the summer of 1974, has had a remarkable influence on my life. I began study at UMR (formerly the Missouri School of Mines) that Fall, & there had access to the original sources cited in the novel. I was convinced already of the theory's validity, and actually reading and considering sources such as Charles H. Hapgood's "Earth's Shifting Crust" at a University which had once focused primarily on Geology, served to "ice (see Hapgood's book) the cake." Consequent studies led me to other amazing discoveries, some my own. But that's another story, which for now will remain unspoken. The book at issue surely "rocks" the world--in several senses--and should be republished.

Summary: AWESOME THEORY -RIVETTING READ
Review: I read this book in the late 70s after studying geology at grammer school in England. I had borrowed the book from a friend who was insistant that I returned it! I did not. Unfortunatly I did the same to another so called friend with the same stipulation. Needless to say I have been searching for a copy ever since!

Why the theory has not been pushed to a wider forum is beyond me. As in the book, let the experts "rubbish" it and say why.

Please reprint it.

Summary: This book is an ABSOLUTE MUST READ!!
Review: I read this book for the first time about 20 years ago. It so chilled me after the first reading that I read the book again, with the same effect. If the publisher of this book would like an instant best seller (again), then they should definitely republish this book.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: The theory which explains all the "unexplainable" science!!!
Review: This novel is fantastic in its plausibility, pacing and characterizations. As the other reviewers have noted, this one may well haunt you. I borrowed it from a friend, RETURNED it (note that, crown3), and haven't seen a copy since. Would love to get one. Whenever people ask me for something to recommend that is excellent, off the beaten path and chilling - I recommend the HAB Theory ... and do so highly.

Summary: EXCELLENT
Review: It's been years since I've read this book and have been looking for a copy ever since. I think THE HAB THEORY deserves a reprint.

Summary: Add my voice to the chorus of praise.
Review: I read the HAB theory over 10 years ago, promptly lost my copy and have been searching for another ever since. This book had been the topic of many late night debates and I can't wait to get another look at this facinating theory. Great science offered in a compelling story. Read it!
