Summary: disappointing
Review: This book was disappointing. The plot was weak and I expected more out of this book. The conversation that Xizor had with Vader and the Emperor seemed to drag on and on.... And also, Zuckuss was displayed as a complete loser. This suprised me because if he was one of the bounty hunters called aboard Vader's Star Destroyer in ESB, then he must've been one of the top in the galaxy, not just some wimpy bounty hunter tryin to learn the ropes.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Not a bad book
Review: I found this book a bit confusing the way it went backwards and forwards through time, one minute Boba Fett is near deaths door and the next he was at a banquet. A girl named Neelah said that there was a connection between her And Boba but she did not know what it was, and we never got to find out what it was. I thought the end of the book was rubbish and the parts with Emperor Palpatine and Prince Xizor were so boring.Other from that, the book gets a thumbs up.

Summary: Give me a break....
Review: I am a huge Boba Fett fan. When I heard about the bounty hunter trilogy, I was excited and a little worried.

I feel justified in worrying. Jeters seemed to have ignored all but a few base facts from the Tales of the Bounty Hunters and other stories and comics concerning them.

Boba Fett is chatty. Chatty! Even though he frequently insist that Boba doesn't speak much.

And how many times can you use the word "grim" in one book? They're *bounty hunters* no one would think of them as perky.

Mr. Jeters seems also to have confused the words Guild and Corporation. If the guild took the larger share of the bounties, no one would join. geesh.

Zuckuss was a wimp. Bossk had a brick for a brain ("Idiot" as Jeters seems overly fond of using). Boba Fett was a profiteering robot. IG-88 was slightly too emotional. Neelah was just kind of there. Dengar was almost in character, but a tad "grim". The two most interesting characters in the! story were the medical droids.

Heh, I almost forgot about Vader, Palpy, and Xizor. They were chatty as well. And I have a hard time believing that Vader was so ignorant of Xizor's activities.

It was a little too techy in odd places like. "Easy as a peice of sugared confectionary." (paraphrased) For pity's sake, just say cake. Once or twice things like that might have been cute, but it was all through the book. And he kept on refering to Naala as the "female"...is this PC for the Star Wars?

One more rant....What was up with the time swapping? Now ....Then....isn't it all Then?

And I cringed when I saw "During the events of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi" Why couldn't it say "A few weeks prior to the Battle of Endor" or "following Han Solo's escape from Jabba's palace" etc. It's hard to get into a book when you are reminded that Star Wars is a movie.

Considering how this story ignored the previously establish! ed stories, I would put it on par with the Glove of Darth V! ader in regards to cannon.

Summary: Why?. . . why?!? Oh, for the lack of humanity, WHY!?!
Review: This book is an insult and disgrace to the Star Wars name. It is quite apparent by the abuse (and misuse) of Star Wars terms and situations that the author, who was most likely sent a wealth of information on the characters he was writing about, did not real a full story pertaining to any of the characters. This is obvious by his misapplication of phrases: he often has a character refer to another as a "barve" as we would say "guy", this would prove that he only read the title of the short story "A Barve Like That". He misinterpreted the title to mean that they were refering to the character involved. He also read bits and pieces of the "Tales of the Bounty Hunters" stories, such as the last paragraph of Dengar's story, a few lines of Bossk's, and none of Zuckuss' or IG-88's. His timeline is a complete catastrophe, placing IG-88 in the story when he had not even been created yet. He also throws around a few ideas from "! ! ;Dark Empire", but stays nowhere within either version of cannon. He wields the characters dangerously, perverting their personalities into a degrading character whom no one can respect or fear: Boba Fett is nothing like the character portrayed in "Last One Standing" or "A Barve Like That", Zuckuss is a whining brat (similar in most cases to Luke Skywalker) and is paired with Bossk (?!?), 4-LOM is nowhere to be found, and IG-88 is nothing like the cold machine he would be. All in all, Bossk might be the only character portrayed with any acuracy. The actual writing was weak and disconected, although the format of entwining past with present was a satisfactory device. Even the grammar was of inferior quality. I cannot fully describe the faults of this book without surpassing the 1,000 word limit of this review. Although I will purchase the forthcoming books in this series, it will only be because I am a die-hard Boba Fett fan. However, I would no! ! t recommend this book to anyone who does not wish for such ! a character to be reduced to the sniviling fool he appears to be in the "Mandalorian Armor" novel.

Summary: i think this book was very good
Review: i think that anyone who loves the star wars books should read it the only problem with this book is that they dont tell you more about some of the main characters

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Could've done better
Review: Jeter should have reviewed more. I saw several mistakes in the story line. Dengar messed it up alot, Neelah is a mystery and the droids are flat out annoying! But, the Transhodan Family ties are not very close. Bossk was plotting against his own father and his father was plotting against him. And, Zuckuss was portrayed as a wimpy little side-kick. Boba Fett showed far too much emotion then is portrayed in other books. The book is mainly for information only. If you're only into information, get this book.

Summary: Disappointing for such a promising topic
Review: What could be more exciting than a book totally dedicated to bounty hunters? That's what I thought when I saw that The Mandalorian Armor was due to be released. I found out that in this case, there are many activities more exciting.

Any fan of Star Wars has wondered at some time or another about the origins of the infamous Boba Fett. Although I had hoped that this book would shed a lot more light on Fett's past, like where he got his Mandalorian Armor, I was not too disappointed. After all, just because my expectations are inconsistent with what the novel is actually about does not make it a bad story. I enjoyed the new characters that were created, and will be anxious to learn more about them in the coming books. Like most Star Wars books, I enjoyed reading it and lost myself in the story. That alone is worth 3 stars.

However there were many disappointing attributes. I won't repeat all of the inconsistencies of the novel (read beelybeeg's review), but those! ! did irk me significantly. Also, I didn't think there was much action to speak of. Sure, there was the assault on the Shell Hutts, and the escape from the remnants of the Sarlacc, but even those were lackluster. I'm not one to demand tons of action that doesn't really belong in the story, and as such you can take this however you want, but I did find myself becoming bored in certain parts of this novel.

All in all, I enjoyed the book, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who hasn't already read all of the other books. I hope the rest of the books in this series will change my mediocre opinion of K. W. Jeter.

Summary: Jeter just messed up
Review: I feel that Jeter just didn't research his book well enough. He made several mistakes(in my opinion, I may be a little behind on what has happened in SW books lately). The plot was boring, no real battles fought. The idea to flash back an forth was a good one, it was one of the things I liked, and it helped. In the end of the book, it had Bossk seemingly kill Fett, yet this was during RoTJ, yet Bossk supposedly died in Tales of the Bounty Hunters. If he somehow escaped, Jeter should have at least touched on that. Jeter made some of the same mistakes he made when he continued on Blade Runner, but at least he did it, when no one else did. He is a newcomer to the SW universe, so maybe his second book will be better.

Summary: An Ok book
Review: Like I said this book is ok but it is a little strange Like the Fact that you are going from one time to another. It's like reading 2 books that have almost nothing to do with each other(I'm not done yet with the book) that get a little strange. It was kinda cool to learn about Fett and the other bunty hunters past.i never really knew anything about guys like Dengar(Who said nothing in the movie at all)and Bossk (who hissed once in the movie). All and all an ok book.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: The book was dry, but captured the reader in a twisted plot
Review: This first installment in a trilogy of bounty hunter books was a complete washout. There was no action, and the main characters from the movie trilogy were never mentioned at all. This book gave a detailed overview of Fett's past, and menioned several new characters as well. The author, K.W. Jeter is a newcomer to the S.W. Universe, and should probably take a few hints from experienced writers, such as Kevin J. Anderson and Timothy Zahn.
