Rating: Summary: Great book!!!! Review: This is a great book for people who like Boba Fett and other bounty hunters. There is so much action and adventure even a little mystery. I couldn't put it down. I can't wait to read K.W. Jeter's next book The Slave Ship
Rating: Summary: A worthwhile romp that adds to the SW universe Review: I've been a fan of Jeter's work since long before he moved into media-related novels, and this entry in the growing Star Wars saga maintains my loyalty. While freeing himself from the unnecessary ball-and-chain of obsessive (and unofficial) fan-based continuity and "canonicity" points, Jeter adds color and depth to several threads in the increasingly complex SW tapestry -- and does so while remaining absolutely faithful to the three movies. Boba Fett is a shallow, barely-participating figure on screen (little more than a faceless costume that rasps six words in his brief screentime), so Jeter used his ample opportunity to give Fett a history, personality, and presence. He does so well while telling a good yarn (face it, it's a SW novel, not Faulkner or, say, Jeter's own _Noir_. Like every SW novel I've purchased, you can read it in bed in just one-to-three nights for that pleasant end-of-the-day brain candy). It's just what I was looking for: a fun diversion -- good enough for me to look forward to his next two books in this trilogy.
Rating: Summary: 1 of the better SW books Review: i enjoyed the book ok i couldn't put it down but i hope some of the loose strings get tied up in the next book and since when did Zukuss team with Bossk that what loses the fifth star other than that it's a good book a must for every SW fans collection
Rating: Summary: barely readable Review: this book is over long, filled with poor characterizations, and ridiculous. it is a completely unnecessary tale, once vader and palpatine show up and continue a pointless conversation for five pages where they act nothing like themselves i lost complete interest, this novel was a chore to read, skip it and read some zahn...
Rating: Summary: Jeter broke the cardinal rule of SW book writing... Review: ...WATCH THE MOVIES FIRST! The author seemed to miss out on some finer points of Star Wars trivia (such as: Bossk was not Zuckuss' partner; 4-LOM was), and had trouble in adjective use (EVERY SINGLE TIME he tried to describe Boba Fett, or a character mentioned Boba Fett, the word 'barve' was used to describe him. For instance: "You better stay away from that barve!", or "He is such a barve, man!" What is that? 'Barve' isn't even in my dictionary! And it was used like, 200 times!). In addition, the whole premise of the book is "unrealistic" in Star Wars terms. A bounty hunters' guild? Right... P.S.: The character "Kuat of Kuat" also annoyed me. I think that's a dumb name.
Rating: Summary: great book for advid Boba Fett fans!!!!! Review: I believe that this book was certainly a great novel for Boba Fett fans who love the mysterious, sly and dangerous man in mandalorian armor. The only problem with the book was that Jeter's knowledge of the Star Wars universe is not in expertise. Don't get me wrong, i thought that he explained fett's character in such a way that i adored. But how the heck did Zuckuss get paired up with Bossk???? I thought Zuckuss and 4-LOM were partners. It was these minor incidents that made me give this book a four star review instead of a five. Other than that, i thought the book was a joy to read. I'd certainly recommend it!
Rating: Summary: Great book dealing with the bounty hunters of SW universe. Review: Jeter weaves a masterful tale of double crosses and manipulation that leaves the reader thirsting for more. We finally get some solid background information on Boba Fett and also get a closer look at some of the other bounty hunters. I greatly enjoyed this book and am waiting expectantly for the next installation.
Rating: Summary: Awesome book for Fett Freaks. Zuckuss climbs the ranks. Review: Takes a few chapters to get used to the jump in time periods (going from past to present and back again). Gaining background on the other bounty hunters is a plus, especially the Trandoshans. At times can seem to get away from a good story line but overall a must read for anyone with any type of interest in the Bounties.
Rating: Summary: A good read, made even better if your a Boba Fett fan Review: A book worth reading if you are a Star Wars or Boba Fett fan, I do say it could have been better, but overall, not bad.
Rating: Summary: interesting, yet disappointing Review: I was very excited when I saw the book in the store. I am a huge Star Wars fan, and am always on the lookout for more Star Wars books (I have 33, and have read 36). But this one probably has one of the worst storylines I have encountered so far. What's with the "then" and "now" thing? Have you forgotten that Star Wars happened a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away? Duh!!!! Also, they made Zuckuss into a wimp, 4-LOM wasn't there, and didn't you forget about his injuries!! And remember, Mr. Jeter, that Dengar had that super-human strength. I hate to be repititive, but, duh!! Oh, yeah, would you please stop saying "barve". I can practically hear that word in my sleep, and I am sick of it. And PLEASE tell us who Neelah is, would you!! But, overall, it had a lot of good points, and, like all other Star Wars books, I got lost in it, and that, plus the fact that I love Star Wars, is good enough for me.
