Summary: Political Intrigue at it's Best
Review: A great read that pulls you in and keeps you turning the pages until the very end. Please tell me there will be a sequel. Mr. Hanny vividly draws his characters and builds the suspense while weaving a tale of international intrigue. It has everything from terrorists to corrupt government officials. I especially enjoyed the characterization of the President and First Lady in the novel. He explores the awesome responsibility of the presidency and the toll it takes on the health and well-being of our leaders in these uncertain times. Don't miss it!

Summary: As shallow as a desert river - and just as dry.
Review: I bought this book based on the glowing reviews listed on this site. After finishing the incredibly lackluster and almost nonsensical story, I have have to ask myself who were these previous reviewers? - Mr. Hanny's closest friends and relatives is my best guess (and possibly his agent). Save your time and money - there's a good reason this was never reprinted in a paperback edition.

Summary: Fact or Fiction
Review: I found this book difficult to put down. It was fascinating to read a book that was dreamt up by the author 31/2 years prior to the events of September 11th. The book though a novel had so much factual information it was hard to believe that it wasn't based on a true story. Mr. Hanny really knows his stuff. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

Summary: Simplistic view
Review: I had a hard time getting into this book because of its simplistic characters, plot and dialogue. Because I persisted, I was rewarded with a good story and an interesting view of our military. It is a fast, easy read due to its lack of real intrigue. If you are looking for something light about a heavy subject, this is your book.

Summary: Amazing !!
Review: I have read over 600 books in the past 7 years and have always prefered historical themes. After reading Alseep at the wheel, my new favorite theme is intrigue. I read the book in one evening and my only disappointment is there isn't a sequil, yet? Hat's off to the new author!!

Summary: No Sleep for Me!
Review: I hold John R. Hanny, and his work "Asleep at the Wheel", responsible for my "Lack of Sleep" during a recent week of business travel.

For those familiar with the "Glamour" involved with business travel, late nights with customers/vendors and early morning seminars and meetings, you must also treasure that downtime, or as I prefer to call it "power-nap time" once on the aircraft.

DO NOT EVEN CRACK THE BOOK IF YOU CHERISH THIS TIME!!

From page one, I was wide-eyed with intrigue ans suspense! The pace is fast and furious. Talk about the edge of my sit, the poor guy sitting in 12D must have felt me breathing down his neck for the better part of three hours. I could not put this book down.

The story will fascinate and frighten, entertain and enrage. A true thriller! The insight given to both American politics and international terrorism is superb. How both men and deals are made and broken, it is remarkable that any of us can sleep at all!

"Asleep at the Wheel" is a "Must Read" Can't wait for Hanny's next novel. I will, however, schedule a long weekend of free time for the journey!

Summary: Political & World Intrigue
Review: I loved the book. I could not believe Mr. Hanny could have a dream as such and then convert to words. It was my "vacation" best read....

This book has all the makings of a movie. In my mind I already have cast some of the characters.
