Summary: This is one of his best!!!
Review: I have read more than ten of Cussler's books and can honestly say that this is one of his finest reads. Lots of nail bitting, edge of your seat action and the usual Cussler twist, but I have to tell you, I could'nt put the book down. Great job!!!!

Summary: I'd give it 10 stars but it won't let me...
Review: I thought that Clive would be hard pressed to out-do 'Raise The Titanic' widely considered his best work...but I've gotta admit, 'Cyclops' does it for me. It puzzles me how some reviewers seem surprised at the seemingly impossible situations Dirk finds himself in, and STILL manages to escape FROM, and STILL get the girl. C'mon! As one reviewer already stated, Clive writes seriously fun books, but doesn't take the story too serious that it cannot have fun in the process, and even though you might be crying 'foul' in one sentence, by the next, you have forgotten how implausible if not down right IMPOSSIBLE the story has become, and you just continue right on through because it was written for entertainment purposes, and THAT is what 'Cyclops' does in GRAND Style. Cussler has written possibly his best story (although I have to admit Atlantis Found is right up there) and given us a fantastic tale that will endure well beyond the years. Unlike certain forms of music, and clothing, Pitt will ALWAYS be in style.

As always, I enjoy feedback on MY opinions: rmgomske@lightcom.net

Summary: Another gem from Cussler!
Review: My journey through the world of fiction has lead me to discover many excellent authors, but no one does it better than Clive Cussler. I first bought one of his novels because I thought the cover looked cool, and I have been hooked on him ever since. Cyclops is a typical Cussler work: the plot is simple yet contains many twists and turns that make putting down this book very difficult. While all of Cussler's works are superior, I would recommend Cyclops, Raise the Titanic, Shock Wave, Inca Gold and Night Probe as the best of his masterpieces. Good reading, don't plan on going anywhere for a while when you pick up a Cussler novel.

Summary: ANOTHER WINNER, FAST FACED AND EXCITING
Review: MY SECOND CUSSLER NOVEL AND CERTAINLY NOT MY LAST. I AM MORE ANXIOUS THAN EVER TO READ THE REST OF HIS PITT NOVELS. ALTHOUGH UNBELIEVEABLE AT POINTS, CYCLOPS IS ENJOYABLE FICTION. FROM THE MOON TO CUBA, THE ACTION IS INTENSE AND JUST WHEN I THOUGHT THE BOOK SHOULD END IT CONTINUED ON WITH THE SECOND PLOT IN THE STORY.

Summary: nobody does it better then Clive Cussler

Summary: Dirk Pitt charms old women in distress!
Review: One minute, he's para-sailing and the next minute he's trying to circumvent a plot to assassinate Cuban leader Fidel Castro. Considering his record, I strongly recommend that if dear reader ever meets Dirk Pitt in person that he get the heck out of the man's way! Something dangerous is about to happen!

The uncontestable lone wolf, Dirk Pitt finds himself mixed up in a search mission to locate the missing mega-zillionaire Raymond LeBaron when LeBaron's antique zeppelin mysteriously shows up on the Florida coast with a host of dead crew members! Wouldn't you know that Pitt's search leads him to explore something sunken in the ocean that leads to bigger and better mysteries with an unusual collection of twists and multiple plots?

This is one of Cussler's better creations. And I urge dear reader to enjoy it. Dirk Pitt and Al Giordino still seem to operate at a distance from each other, but this story begins to bring the two heroes a little closer together. Where Pitt usually finds himself saving the young fair maiden in distress, he seems to have adopted the notion of capturing the heart of an older woman in peril! Dirk! What were thinking?! Stick to young babes!!!

Summary: My favorite Clive Cussler title . . .
Review: Out of all the Cussler books, Cyclops is definitely the best. More then ever before, Dirk Pitt is able to pull off the impossible in a realistic and believable way. Although the bathtub with the outboard motor is stretching it a bit, I guess that it might really work . . . if you were Dirk Pitt and you always had the writer on your side. When the writer is on your side, you can do anything. This just proves it.

I recomend this book to anybody who is looking for an exciting read, and doesn't mind a few far fetched escapes.

Summary: "One Of The More Way-Out Pitt Adventures"
Review: The dissapearance of the ship Cyclops in 1918 sparks the beginning of this adventure for Mr. TCOB, Inc., Dirk Pitt. A search for the ship's lost treasure takes the diver/adventurer from a Caribbean hurricane to a secret Russian base to a plot to assassinate Castro. Thrown into the mix is a secret base on the moon built by a clandestine group of government and business people that the Soviets are about to attack.

A pretty good Pitt adventure. Lots of impossible escapes for Dirk. Jessie LeBaron made a good female interest for Pitt. She starts off as your typical stuck-up rich woman, but later shows she's not afraid to get her hands dirty and can endure a lot of suffering. And I LOVED their first scene together where Pitt puts her in her place. That was legend! I was dissapointed there wasn't as much interaction between Pitt and his best friend, Al Giordino, as in most Cussler novels. Really liked Ira Hagen, the President's man trying to get to the bottom of the moonbase conspiracy. Comes off as an average looking guy, but has a first-rate investigative mind and a tenacious attitude. Some good action scenes at the Russian base and with the battle on the moon, though I did question some of the technical accuracy, like people only coming away wounded when their spacesuit is ripped open.

All in all, a good Dirk Pitt adventure.
