Rating: Summary: A par effort for Cussler Review: Although this book contains all of the same ingredients for success, I felt that it was slow at some points and more unrealistic than his other great ones. Dirk Pitt is once again the man we all want to be, but I just wasn't swept away by the moon colony and the hunt for La Dorada. I also wasn't pleased with the ending. Cyclops is a fast and exciting read but fails to grab the reader's attention as easily as his past gems
Rating: Summary: Can a Dirk Pitt novel be any better?? NO WAY!! Review: Another incredible home run for Cussler! I picked up this novel the day I saw it at a Mall in San Diego early in 1986. I read it within a couple days--and I'm a S-L-O-W reader--and I have since re-read it probably 4 times. One of the surprising things about 'Cyclops' is how well it has held up over the years. From a search for a blimp, frozen Russian Cosmonauts, a sunken ship which just might hold one of the most sought-after treasures of the New World to the inner workings of Castro's government--and to top it off, a pure nail-biter confrontation on the surface of the moon--'Cyclops' certainly has its fair share of exotic locations as well as more action than you typically find in half-a-dozen other 'adventure' novels combined. Oh, and if you are an avid Cussler fan, you may remember Foss Gly from 'Night Probe'...well his nasty mug makes a return in this action-packed bullet-train-with-no-brakes of a novel. In short, do NOT pass this one by. Cussler tosses in just about everything but the bathroom tub--no, wait-a-minute, yes he does. Okay, at least you can be assured that absolutely NOTHING was left out in the pursuit of a tale that is as fun to read as any book you can find in print today. Simply put, 'Cyclops' is easily one of Clive's best Pitt stories and over the years has remained one of MY personal favorites as well. HIGHLY Recommended.

Rating: Summary: Some neat stuff, but not Dirk's best adventure Review: As a reader of many Dirk adventures, Cyclops is good, but there's something about it that failed to meet grade. Maybe because I listened to the audiocassette...I will say that I didn't enjoy the narrator as much as I did Tom Wopat with Sahara. It's hard to put your finger on it, but something didn't fit...maybe it was the ending that left something to be desired. Good Cussler complexity and employment of Dirk's "McGiver-like" magic (loved the bathtub). I really liked Joe, Fidel Castro and Hergen.
Rating: Summary: Wild and relentless! Review: Clive Cussler has done it again! Another winner. The main point I liked about Cyclops was the moon colony idea and a massive covert space conspiracy surrounding it. A highly imaginative plotline indeed. From the start, from the blimp crash and the discovery of the La Dorada treasure, to Cuba to the moon you will be swept away by the action and intrigue. Dirk gets his woman as ever, well, he doesn`t waste any time at all!
Rating: Summary: ONE OF THE BEST READS Review: Clive Cussler is one of my favourite writers. I would like to thank my friend who introduced me to this author. She recommended his Sahara but i laid my hands on Cyclops first and now wont let go of Cussler. I however didn't like his The Serpent, which was a total washout. I dont blame him when almost everybody has faltered at some time or the other. this book is a real roller coaster ride and you will thoroughly enjoy this book. It crackles at a fast pace and will leave you gasping for more. The hero Drik Pitt is almost a leged for all Cussler fans.... In me Cussler has his biggest fan.......
Rating: Summary: The REAL Cussler classic Review: Clive Cussler's Cyclops is certainly one of the best Dirk Pitt novels in publication. It begins with great entertainment and rounds out with an unbelievable escape. Cyclops, like the best of Cussler's novels, never takes itself very seriously. Cussler knows that an action novel requires impossible situations-such as his base on the moon and near-nuclear explosion in Havana' harbor. But the situations always seem to be quasi-believable, much like the Bond novels Fleming wrote. Cussler always seems to have a knack for coming up with these situations and that's great because he packs each one into a wonderfully entertaining novel- and Cyclops is no exception.
Rating: Summary: another hit Review: clive takes you thru twists and turns, both natural and man made and the danger is really page turning. a GREAT BOOK TO READ DURING A THUNDER STORM.

Rating: Summary: A grand adventure with a great hero Review: Cussler has definetily become one of my favorite authors. And Cyclops only seconds that. It's a great adventure with a wondrous plot and a wise yet adventurous hero - Dirk Pitt. It shocked me to read it progess and made me wonder how Cussler comes up with all these amazing ideas and surprises. And, although slightly complicated to follow, Cyclops is very hard to put down. It's really fun to guess what will happen next and put it all together in the end.
