Rating: Summary: Great Hard Sci-Fi! Review: Just discovered this series and started with book 2; couldn't find book 1 so I ordered it from Amazon. Great action on every page; well written (I have a degree in Eng. Lit.). Robert Doherty also writes several scripts for Start Trek Voyager; excellent writer. Can't wait to read all of the series!
Rating: Summary: An interesting sequel-- fun read Review: Picked this book up shortly after reading AREA 51 as the ending of that book definitely opened the door for more. This was a fun and exciting book. Looking forward to the next one in the series.
Rating: Summary: Outstanding Review: Robert does an excellant job of tying all the earth's mysteries together. Area 51, Easter Island, the Great Pyramid and more. Eagerly awaiting "The Mission".
Rating: Summary: UFOs, conspiracy theories, and global peril-WHEW! Review: Robert Doherty continues his everything-but-the-kitchen-sink alien invasion series with just as much wahoo action as in the first book. The F-14/foo fighter conflict is some of the best acion/adventure writing I've come across recently. However, characterization is even more thin than in the first book. All in all, though, a quick, goofy read that is thoroughly enjoyable.
Rating: Summary: Great read for a rainy day. Review: Robert Doherty has a great knack for interconnecting enough real events with his fiction to make you stay allert. A little bit like Tom Clancy but over a wider spectrum. There is authentic sounding descriptions of military hardware and procedures, and enough far out stuff to make even the most ardent UFOlogist feel at home. The combination somehow grounds what would otherwise be just conspiracy fluff with enough reality to make for a good yarn. (Exactly how did the Men In Black connect to both the Great Wall and secret bases in Antartica again? Area 51: The Reply has at least one possibility covered.) Highly recomended.
Rating: Summary: It feels like a movie Review: Robert Doherty, as usual moves fast, and keeps the suspense going without losing the reader. One of the best Sci-Fi books I have ever read.
Rating: Summary: Even beats the first Area 51 novel! Review: Robert Doherty: title - Area 51: THE REPLY
The characters from Area 51 are back! In the first novel The Guardian sent a message into space. Humans could do nothing but ponder who made The Guardian and where were they now. In the second novel, The Guardian gets a reply. All military branches of the world look toward the starts for the mother of The Guardian. But the aliens were not on a ship heading toward Earth. They had been much closer for a long time. They had been sleeping...deep within Mars. The Guardian is not alone. There is another Guardian in Mars and it was reviving its creators. And there are other things to worry about. A tomb in China turns out NOT to be a tomb, but an alien chamber...A giant ruby turns out to be a doomsday device to destroy Earth...The aliens say the are coming in peace, but proof shows they are not. FIRST CONTACT has finally come to us...and we are not ready!
Rating: Summary: Excellent Sci-Fi Military Thriller... Review: The action and suspense seem never ending, there are slow downs between but that just builds the excitement because you know something is coming, but you don't know which way the story is going to go....I couldn't read it fast enough. I have all the books in this series that are out, but I haven't been able to read them until now, and I'm glad because the suspense of waiting for the next book would kill me!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Fascinating Follow Up! Review: The action, mystery, and intrigue continues in this great second book in the series of three. I thoroughly enjoyed The Reply even more so than the first novel as Robert Doherty expanded on the alien phenomenon. This is well worth the time and money for those interested in the myth of aliens/UFO's. Here is yet another five star review to go along with the millions and millions of others from those who know a great book when they read one!
Rating: Summary: Interesting series Review: The Area 51 series is good, pulp fiction. A bit over the top, but if you like UFO conspiracies and history, this book is for you.
