Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: A bit of a let down Review: Prior to reading this book I read the latest installment of the Meg series which I really liked. I've been a fan of Alten's for quite sometime, ever since I read MEG in a day a few years back. That being said, I was a bit let down by this sequel to the very engrossing Domain.
It's been awhile since I read Domain but he does a good job of refreshing the reader's memory.
This book takes a very bizare turn from the events of the first book. It gets even deeper into the Mayan prophesies of doom and legends. Actually I think it gets TOO deeply involved in those things.
I was a little confused while reading this book as well. With all the flash backs and branching paths it takes I found it hard to follow. That coupled with the fact that it takes rather large leaps into the future (in more than one way).
The book picks up in the latter half, probably about two thirds of the way through but not enough to warrent a higher rating.
I've read some of the other reviews on here and have seen people state that maybe their expectations were a bit too high. I think that was part of my problem as well. After reading and enjoying all of his other works highly, I was really looking forward to this book and it didn't live up to my expectations.
I'm a little confused over the ending but it still has my interest up for reading the next part.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: WOW! Review: Resurrection is a very good book. This book is a page turner from the first page to the climatic ending! It is a very good book to add to any sci-fi collection.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Great reading Review: See storyline above.A fascinating and thought provoking novel. Along with the stunning visuals, Alten has written a well researched (some bio/science and Meso-American history) tale that encompasses science and science fiction. I think some people are taking the stories they read a little too seriously. This is fiction. Pure unadulterated fiction. Enjoy, because your in for one fascinating ride. Highly recommended.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Resurrection Rocks! Review: Steve Alten has done it again in this thrilling, nail-bitting, page-turner. A super-natural rollercoaster ride, chalked full of action, adventure, mystery, suspense and horror. Not for the faint of heart or the squeemish, once you pick this book up you won't be able to put it down until the end. From the chilling first page, to the suspense filled ending, you'll be left salivating for part 3 (Phobos) in the "Domain" trilogy. "Resurrection" is the ultimate battle of good vs. evil! I loved this book! With each new novel Mr. Alten outdoes himself. He truley is a gifted author and an amazing man who appreciates his readers as much as we appreciate him. "Resurrection" is a must read for any of those who wonder what happens when we die, if there's a heaven or a hell, or anyone who just loves a good book! Also check out Steve Altens' other awesome novels "Meg", "The Trench", "Domain", "Goliath" and the soon to be released, "Primal Waters" (Part three in the 'Meg' series).

Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: Disappointing for such a good writer Review: The prequel DOMAIN was a facinating concept, but the continuation here gets WAY too conveluted when you try using too many concepts. In addition to the Mayan Doomsday prophesy, he also tries to tie in Christianity in this novel, which is where the story fails. I don't know if Mr. Alten wanted to increase the potential readers or what reason caused him to try and introduce this to the mix, but it not only convelutes the story, it's horribly innaccurate to the Christian faith and spits on a few Christian concepts altogether. It surprised me a great deal, as Mr Alten is a brilliant writer with a gift of weaving fact and fiction into one...this wasn't even close. Talking to the dead? There is NO HELL? Whether you believe Christianity or not, if you're going to use it in your story, get your research right. Read the book man. The OTHER book. Any comparison to 'Left Behind' is strictly that, and VERY flimsy. It's NOTHING like it. The only good thing about this book is Salt and Pepper. If you want to read a great Alten story, try Goliath.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: a good book Review: This a great book to ready.(read the other reviews to know about the plot.) while this is a great book, it is not as good as domain.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Completely addicting Review: This book had to be one of the best I have ever read. The pace and quality of the story-telling blew my mind. I was trapped in an airport on business with nothing but this book and I was upset that I had to get on the plane because it meant that I had to stop reading for a moment. This series facinates me and I can't wait to read more.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Resurrection Review: This book is awesome. You need to read Domain first to know why certain things are happening. The writing grabs you from page one and never lets you down. All of Steve Alten's books are wonderful. The Meg series is riviting. I still love this Domain series best. I can't wait for Phobos to be written. The characters have a special place in my heart. Yes, even Lilith. Who knows maybe there are things out there we do not understand but could very well be fact. Alten is a writer before his time. Good Luck with all your writing. i am behind you 100%.
