Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Different,but very entertaining...
Review: Feist's second installment in the Serpentwar Saga is very different from his other books. The book explains the life of a young merchant and produces many unsolved mysteries, which form a very solid base for Rage of A Demon King.Krondor is modernizing and it's very nice to read about a world as real as our world...

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Feist needs some new ideas
Review: Worst thing Feist has written yet. They'd been getting steadily worse for a while but at least they remained entertaining. This book was a struggle to get through. Erik and Roo are his dullest characters yet. Mindless.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Feist is the best fantasy author ever.
Review: Feist is the best fantasy author ever

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: A welcomed diversion from the ususal fantasy fare.
Review: If you are expecting a typical Fiest story, guess again. However, if you'd like a twist on the fantasy genre, and have the faintest interest in business, this book will entertain and surprise you. As a whole, I thought the main story had more than a few novel twists, with just enough magic to still be considered a fantasy.

Summary: Bottom of the Feist pile
Review: The pace built up over the previous Riftwar / Serpent war novels slowed to a snails pace with this episode. My ideal for a Fantasy novel is to take me away from the "hum-drum" of everyday life. This was like watching a documentary on Commerce - not my scene. Here's to the "Demon King" and a little excitement.

Summary: Feist Takes a Different Path to Glory!
Review: Much different from his previous works, but still had Feist's great style. Loved to see the business side of Krondor, as well as the intrigue & romance side of life. Roo seems a complex person with real strengths & weaknesses, and not just one more cardboard hero type. The only thing to annoy me were the parts involving Eric & Calis & Miranda, which seemed rushed and not very realistic. Whole scenes sometimes seemed to be missing. Perhaps we'll have to wait for the Author's Preferred Edition in order to better understand Calis & Eric's journey to Novindus.

Summary: Couldn't even finish it
Review: I started reading this book when it first came out, but put it down when I finally grew too disgusted with the main character (Roo) to care about how it turned out (except to hope for his well-deserved death, frankly). The way he treats the people close to him is seedy at best, and repulsive at worst. After reading Feist's much better earlier works (particularly the Empire series), I was *very* disappointed with this entry in the Midkemian saga.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Fills up some gaps; informative esp. concerning economics.
Review: In truth, I was a bit disappointed with this book. It may lie in my lack of interest in economics per se, but I still give Mr. Feist credit for helping us see who Roo Avery really is. Oh, the lad has a good heart I assume since he's one of the leading protagonist in the saga, but...the book lack, er, action as one would expect from a Fantasy book.

Still, I'm not an expert in prose or characterization so yeah, I can't give him a 5 star rating because of the lack of action I expected (and a little more info please on the other characters i.e. Calis, Miranda. Still, I'm glad Feist let me catch a glimpse of a day in the life of Roo Avery. I can't wait to read the next book where, hopefully, the action starts.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: A disappointing work.
Review: This novel was even worse than Shadows of a Dark Queen; it is an awful work of sloppy writing by a novelist whose success has gone to his head. Grossly inferior to the Riftwar Saga.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Very Good, but not the best
Review: It was a good book, but not nearly as fast paced as his others. There isn't much fantasy involved, more of it is set in a city. A good book, as all of his are, but not his best.
