Rating: Summary: This book doesn't disappoint... Review: I have read the previous installments of Area 51, and found this one to be just as good or even better. The author further develops the characters of Turcotte and Duncan, and succedes in introducing new characters that keep the story riveting. My only complaint is that I want the next installment in the series now. I do recommend that you read the previous three books first, as this may help in understanding some of the sub-plots and characters.
Rating: Summary: Going about this backwards Review: I read Atlantis first, then backtracked to find this series by the same author-- started this book, then had to get the first one and work forward. Intriguing work. A strange mind at work here coming up with this stroyline. All I ask is to be entertained and this series delivers.
Rating: Summary: Cliffhanger ending-- left me wondering Review: I really enjoyed reading this, then the ending left me hanging. Hard to accept but then I realized this is a series and the next book will be out. Enough in this one for me to enjoy but I want to know what happens!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Momentum building Review: I've been reading this series since the first book, AREA 51, and this one has upped the ante. Each book had its own climax but also left something for the series to continue, but this was the best of the bunch. It had a climax, simply the world being saved which doesn't seem to have been enough for some of the reviewers, but the cliffhanger for the series makes me anticipate the next quite a bit.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Read! Can't wait till the next one! One thing... Review: I've read each book in this series so far, and they have all been very entertaining. The only thing that bugged me about this one, was how the ending left me wanting the next book more than any of the others!
Rating: Summary: Interesting concept slowly developing Review: I've read this series from the beginning and beginning to wonder where it is going. I thought I had it figured out after the second book but the Sphinx blew me away and the ending has me really wondering. Lots of possibilities. Who are the Airlia? Why are there two sides to them? And how much have they affected mankind over the years? I hope the next book or books gives the answers. In the meanwhile, it's been fun.
Rating: Summary: Best since the original Review: Just when I was about to give up reading the series (after a very disappointing book 3 -- The Mission), Doherty picks up the pace, raises the stakes, and tightens up the story in this very exciting sequel. I can't wait to start The Grail (book 5).
Rating: Summary: What an ending...! Review: Just when the book was picking up pace and getting really exciting the thing comes to an abrupt end.I couldn't believe he ended it there,I frantically searched for more pages hoping against hope, but no thats where he ended it.And to add insult to injury the next in the seies won't be published til Jan 2001! The book on the whole was good(even though the first one in the series is still my favorite)and I love the way he added ancient Egypt into the storyline. On the whole it was a great read and was much better than The Mission.
Rating: Summary: Not Bad Not Great Review: Not bad. The series has so far not played out and is still interesting.
Rating: Summary: Area 51 The Sphinx- How can R. Doherty out do this one? Review: Robert D. has kept up the excitement in this edition. Lisa D., Mike T. and the Russian Yakov are still kept off guard. The Mission and the Ones Who Wait are always a step ahead. Lisa is becomiong more careless and Mike and Yakov are not watching their back very well. This book travels all over the globe and covers many of man's most intrigueing mysteries. In this book you learn the truth behind the Sphinx, but still new mysteries are unexplained. And what new danger has Mars in store for the Earthlings. I can't wait until the next book comes out.
