Summary: Imaginative!
Review: What connections do pyramids, Atlantis, and the high runes all have with aliens? Robert Doherty sums all this and more up in his novel, Area 51. It begins with many small scale perspectives but quickly broadens into the whole picture. It is fast paced and informative, providing many true facts. Doherty deals with the subject of aliens contrary to many science fiction portrayals and it all comes together ingeniously. Area 51 ends with as much excitement as the action filled climax, screaming sequel. If you are interested in possible connections between some of the greatest mysteries of all time, or just want to read a well written, thoughtful book, Area 51 is it.

Summary: Who writes all these five star reviews??? The author???
Review: This is the worst book I ever bought and read. I've read thousands and a hundred or more on Aliens and UFOs. I agree with everything the reader from California said. The writing is Okay, but the story, plot and characters reak! Sorry but I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND it.

Summary: This book is awsome!
Review: Ok, its not my favorite book but its pretty dang good. It has all this stuff about UFOs, crop circles, and foo fighters. It is so cool!! The reply isn't as good, though. I wonder why they have a swear word on every page.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Wow-- everything and more in a fiction book about UFOs
Review: Found this book while wandering the bookstore the other day. Don't let the cover fool you--it's a lot smarter than some big alien spacecraft-- the author weaves most of the myth's of UFOLOGY into a fast-paced and exciting story. I have to get the rest of the series now! highly recommend this!

Summary: Buy this book now!!!!!!!!
Review: I read this book a few years ago, and it's incredible! If you like sci-fi books that have a thriller/coolness edge to them, you'll love this book. And the other books in this series are just as good. BUY THIS BOOK NOW!!!!

Summary: A lone dissenter in the wilderness.
Review: I must have stepped into a parallel dimension or something. In a nutshell, this book STINKS. It takes every pop-culture tidbit of UFO mythology and New Age mysticism (crop circles, foo fighters, Easter Island, prehistoric visitations, etc.), throws in a number of one-dimensional characters, and then runs them through a cuisinart of predictable, formulatic situations. Evil government conspiracies, pyramid power, Roswell, secret Nazi scientists...

It's hard to maintain any suspension of disbelief with this book, because the slightest application of logic sends the plot into a tailspin (Gosh, the Russians might be behind the foo fighters! Why didn't we think of this forty years ago?). The dialog doesn't help either, bobbing between forced exposition, slapdash "military" lingo, and generically bland patter. The only reason this book warrants even one star is because I can't go any lower.

Area 51 might appeal to folks who found INDEPENDENCE DAY "realistic" and who believe little grey men are hiding in Nevada. More educated readers -- and real science-fiction fans -- will scoff at this hackneyed effort, and are strongly advised to stay FAR away from Area 51.

I read this book last year and out of a dozen since then, in this same genre, it is the all time worst. Terrbile writing. Try Koontz's Dark Rivers of the Heart.

Summary: The first UFO novel with a ring of plausibility
Review: I read Area 51 at almost non-stop speed. There were times when I found myself saying Hmmm.. This is making sense. Could some of this be true? I am no expert in UFO's, and I realize it is a work of science fiction, but I was not insulted like some books or movies have left me feeling. My wife has also read it, and my step-daughter had bought The mission, and is going to borrow my Area 51. I recommend Area 51, and the Reply.

Summary: A good book-- I recommend it.
Review: If you have any interest in UFOs, legends, X-Files, etc. check this book out. Good plot, good characters-- excellent read.

Summary: Wow-- everything and anything--
Review: What more could this author have put in this book? You name it, it's here-- UFOs, crop circles, the Great Pyramid, Easter Island, on and on. And it works. That's the amazing thing.

Summary: Mysteriously Intrigued
Review: I found this science fiction novel extremely fascinating as it filled my mind with exciting ideas. It makes you feel very alive to imagine that an alien colony visited our planet over ten thousand years ago leaving behind technology beyond that of most people's comprehension. I seriously plan to read the next two novels furthering my imagination of the UFO phenomenon.
