Summary: Made me get over a real depression!
Review: Wonderfull, wonderfull, wonderfull!!! Only bad thing is that the layout make it look like a child story. I recommend everyone who like Terry Pratchett or who're just feeling down to read it. It was my first Terry Pratchett but absolutely not my last... It is funny and easy to get into and it's also full of thoughts about life. It's poking fun at our normal habits and culture. 'love it!!!!

Summary: A wonderful pastiche of Macbeth.
Review: From what was happening in real life in Elizabethan times to the actual story of Macbeth, Pratchett does a marvellous job of parodying Shakespeare's play and, for a change, Granny Weatherwax, Nanny Ogg and Magrat are really great, very funny characters. Well worth reading.

Summary: wonderful humor
Review: "Wyrd Sisters" was the first Pratchett book I read. It took me awhile to get into, since I was used to authors like Eddings and Terry Brooks, but once i did, i couldn't put it down. Love the witches, they always kept me laughing with their bickering etc. Greebo, Verence, and the Fool were constantly cracking me up. Now i'm reading "Maskerade" and it's living up to the standards!

Summary: Black & midnight hags ? Not by a long shot !
Review: Another excellent Discworld novel, with the trio of Granny, Nanny & Magrat taking on a kingdom (& old Bill Shakespeare's "Macbeth" to boot), with a little help from Death, a troupe of actors & some judicious time-travel. Lady Macbeth wasn't a patch on her counterpart here. The best thing about the novel is that you'll still love Pratchett's wacky humour if you don't get the literary allusions, but if you're a Shakespeare fan, you won't be able to put it down (or stop yourself going over it a dozen times to see what you missed).

Summary: A must for Shakespear fans who take themselves to seriously
Review: This was the first of the "3 witches" books that I read, and I have read it many a time since. Terry Pratchett takes the best (or worst) parts of Shakespear's tragic heros and rolls them up into an hilarious story. He never loses his uncanny understanding of people (or cats), and of course there's The Hedgehog Song. You'll find something new each time you read it. Blatantly subtle!!! (don't mention the scottish king)

Summary: One of the best!!!!
Review: I have read many of Terry Pratchett's Discworld books and I have to say that Wyrd Sisters is one of the best. It contains some of the funniest chracters on the Disc including Granny Weatherwax, Nanny Ogg and Magrat Garlick. I could not put down. An amazing book.

Summary: I'm addicted to these books!
Review: I am reading the Discworld books in order, and I am up to "Moving Pictures" at the moment. Wyrd Sisters is my second favourite Discworld book so far, next to "Eric". I am addicted to Discworld now! I can't stop until I've read them all. The reason that I am on the Internet is because I am restless while waiting for the next book to arrive at the library.

Summary: One of the best books I've read
Review: Wyrd Sisters takes place in Pratchett's Discworld universe. It is hilarious. It made me laugh out loud several times. Terry Pratchett has a wacky and extremely active imagination and yet he is able to tie everything together quite well. Wyrd Sisters is a story in its own right, with well-developed characters, but it is also a great parody of Macbeth, and Shakepeare in general. The more you know about Shakespeare and Macbeth, the more you can appreciate the book. I like it because it makes me laugh, and because of the richness of detail, and the knowledge Pratchett brings to his work. I think it would be a great book for students who are learning about Macbeth to read, and would be a great starting point for discussion.

Summary: Zany Fun
Review: This was my second Terry Pratchett and though it did not make me a die-hard fan it put me down on his list of admirers. The zany humour in this book had me laughing out loud. From the comical metaphors to the crazy town names to the engaging little footnotes Pratchett thoughtfully put in.The characters are unusual but engaging and likeable at the same time. Anyone who can make selfish Granny Weatherwax, wishy washy Magrat and an intelligent Fool loveable has got my vote.Read this whether you love fantasy or not.

Summary: Pratchett humor with a touch of darkness
Review: I am a major fan of the Discworld series and while this one was a little different, I still strongly recommend it. Pratchett is always funny, but there's more to it than just humor. I always find the Discworld is enjoyable on many levels and this one is on a whole new level. The king ridden with guilt is softened by the usual witches and villagers and others so there's just a little dark in this murder conspiracy. I would certainly recommend this book to any fantasy reader
