Summary: The Most Inspirational Book of all Time
Review: Flowers for Algernon is above all the best book i have ever read. This story of a retarded man given a chance to be a genius was brilliant. From the front to back of the book, i loved it all. Every word was incredibly awesome. Everyone should read this book. It tells a lesson that you must take chances in your life and trust others besides yourself. And that not everything lasts forever, as did Charlie learned. I recommend this book to everyone i meet and see. Your life will not be complete untill you read it. It opens new pathways to a persons heart, mind , and soul.

Summary: Wonderful Read
Review: I loved this book. I think anyone and everyone should read it. It is about a 32 yr old man named Charlie Gordon who is mentally retarded and he gets and operation to become smart. After the operation he copes with trying to figure out his past and who his real friends are. It is a sad story but I recommend you read it.

Summary: I can't rate the book but I must say this ...
Review: Flowers for Algernon is the most beautiful and sad story that I have ever read. I have only read it as a short story when I was still a teenager as obligatory reading in my english class, and I cried so much, I felt foolish. Even now I remember its ending and I want to cry again. Such beatifully written prose, such a tenderly portrayed protagonist, and so many questions asked & left unanswered about what we are entitled to do and how far we have a right to go in our amateurish playing with nature & science. An excellent read, the short story was, and I hope the book is just as good. The four stars are given because I am not sure how good the novel is, but they are given for the short story.

Summary: An excellent book.

Summary: Highlighted points in the novel
Review: This is one of the best books I have ever read. Instead of giving a general reveiw and synopsis here, I'm just going to highlight the parts of the novel I particularly enjoyed. First is the relationship Charlie has with Alice. I love the passage where he and Alice make love and he describes it as the act of binding and holding and as being washed under a strange baptism. His story is a painful one to read as you follow him in his development and discoveries. I think it is a wonderful novel that everyone should read.

Summary: An incredible read
Review: This is one of the best books I've read. Basically, it's abouta mentally disabled man, Charlie Gordon, who has his intelligenceincreased by an operation, and what happens to him. It's an incredible story, but it's not for the weak. If you are someone who cries easily, have a box of tissues for the last forty-odd pages. All I had to do was read the lasy entry to my mom, who'd seen the movie, and she was crying. I, who ahrdly ever cry, was nearly crying. But regardless, this is a great book. Everyone should read it.

Summary: Beautiful, touching, and soothing.
Review: Th is book is one of the best books I have ever read, and I'm only 15 years old. Flowers for Algernon taught me to accept who I am just as Charlie accepts himself. It also teaches me that a person who has a mental or physical problem is not less of a person because of that. This book is a lesson in human compassion. I highly recommend you read it.

Summary: This is a great book about a startling experiment.
Review: This is a great book about a startling experiment. Charlie Gordon, the main character, goes through an experiment to increase his I.Q. He finds out some terrible things about the people he thought were his friends. He also gets flashbacks that remind him of his childhood. This book takes you through his painful past. This book is enchanting and intrigueing. I recommend this book to anyone who may be interested in science-fiction.

Summary: An stunning book that I could hardly put down!...
Review: Flowers for Algernon is an incredible story about a remarkable man whose I.Q. dramatically changes due to a fascinating expermiment. Charlie Gordon, a man who has a low I.Q., becomes brilliant after the operation. Charlie is dying to become a smart man because he does not want to be different. Charlie's only friend is a mouse named Algernon. Algernon is a creature that was tested along with Charlie. Charlie works at a bakery, and the people are always making fun of him. Because he is mentally challenged, Charlie does not understand that the people are teasing him. One touching moment, after the operation ocuurs, is when Charlie visits a barber shop, where his father works. Charlie's father does not even recognize him. The father has not seen Charlie for years. That part made me cry. Flowers for Algernon is an amazing story that will make you cry, laugh, and feel so ashamed of how we discriminate against people who are different. This is a book that I highly recommend to anyone who wants to read a simply excellent book.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Spell-binding
Review: By reading this novel, much can be learned about life. It shows the simple things people go through each day shown from a retarded man's point of view. It's about a man who must confront the many challenges he faces because he's different. He's mentally challenged and wants nothing more than to be smart. This is a novel full of suspense and excitement. Charlie, the protagonist, comes to terms with his past and painful emotional memories. However, as he grows intellectually, he still feels emotionally inept. A great read!
