Summary: The Milk of Human Kindness
Review: An affectionate but observant gaze passes on the inhabitants of this melancholy spot on the California Coast. Willing to make us laugh and smile without rushing to minimize our foibles, Christopher Moore romps through splendid characterizations and imaginitive implausibilities. So we lose a few characters in the maw of .... After all, it's just fiction and ends must be tied up neatly and, after all, we really don't want Steve to get into trouble! This one is fun.

Summary: A laugh out loud experience
Review: There is no one funnier than Christopher Moore! From the very beginning, where Steve the Lust Lizard (almost) enjoys mad, passionate love with a gasoline truck, and all the way through this book, I laughed myself silly. Moore's books are not deep literature (at least, I don't THINK so! ) but they are the most fun one can have all by oneself. I loved it, my dog loved it, and you'll love it, too.

Summary: Another great one from Moore
Review: Funny, inventive, surprising--which is what I've come to expect from Christopher Moore. He's done it again here--you'll never look at a trailer park the same way after reading this.

Summary: I look forward to Moore...
Review: This was my first by Christopher Moore and I enjoyed every minute of it. I don't laugh very often (except during "That 70's Show" and "Whose Line is it Anyway?"), but there were a few points in this book where I laughed out loud. Some of the chapters from the dog's viewpoint I read to my dog-loving friends, and I plan to make this a present for several people I know. A refreshing and bizarre escape!

Summary: Moore At It Again!
Review: To steal the quote of the inside cover this book can be best described as "Bridges of Madison County" meets "Godzilla". Christopher Moore has a way of mixing zany true to life characters with unbelivable supernatural elements. If you are looking for a serious read. this is not for you, but if you allow your imagination to run amok, Moore's books are a true pleasure.

Moore introduces new characters, and mixes them in with some old, mainly from 'Practical Demonkeeping" to tell the tale of a man eating sea creature(named Steve) who falls in love with an aging "Xena" like actress in a small California coastal town. Sounds crazy? Yes, but it is true fun with a laugh a page writing style that only Moore has.

The characters are all likeable goofballs whose quirkiness and downfalls make their antics more belivable. It is a very quick read and is definitely worth the time. You won't put this book down with some earth-shattering revelations, just a few laughs and the feeling of being throughly entertained.

Review: Danger this book is too funny

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Doesn't measure up to the other Chris Moore's novels
Review: "Lust Lizard" lacks the elements that made Moore's other four novels so good: complex characters (human AND non-human), interesting story with lots of twists, unpredictable ending, great humor, soft-cover price.

I am extremely disappointed, but still look forward Moore's next one. If we're lucky it will be up there with Blood-Sucking Fiends or Coyote Blue.

Summary: funny but not as good as his other stuff
Review: Let me issue the disclaimer here first: Christopher Moore is a fantastic, zany and very funny author. But let's face it - It can't all be great. "Lust Lizard" was a little too choppy, even more so than "Practical Demon Keeping" and sometimes the prose fell flat where it tried to be funny. The characters were all well-rendered (as usual) but somewhere along the line, my interest in some of them started to wane. However, the story was still good for a chuckle and general amusement on a lazy weekend. Remember: No time is wasted on a Christopher Moore novel!

Summary: Chris Moore Rocks
Review: Every time I read a Chris Moore book I feel that the characters are my friends--and I really miss them when the book is over. Lust Lizard didn't let me down at all: It was well-crafted, loads of fun, and even had a message lurking in there somewhere.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Clever construction, cheesy prose.
Review: "Lust Lizard" is a script disguised as a novel. As a script, it's quite clever in it's construction and resolution. As a novel the writing is weak. It's an enjoyable enough read, but the prose made me wince at times.
