Rating: Summary: Most Excellent! Review: One very cold rainy camping trip in the Dragoons...my friend brought a copy with her (not her own unfortunately) and started reading it out loud after I scoffed at the jacket blurb. Omigosh--it was funny! So we spent the entire day huddled in back of my pickup reading this book--I've never laughed so long or loud or frequently reading *any* book! I wish they'd put it back into print!!!
Rating: Summary: I give it a BIG BANG! Review: I have a copy of this lovely book! I really hate that it is no longer being published. I would really love to meet the author or to at least know how to contact him. This is one book you'll not put down 'til the end!
Rating: Summary: Reprint, Reprint, Reprint!!! Review: Lost my copy of this book a couple of years ago. I have been in mourning ever since. The most laughs I have ever had from a read.
Rating: Summary: Fast paced and savagely funny; a brilliant book. Review: The publishers really got it wrong when they let this gem go out of print. I read it in 1986 when it first came out and it was surely one of the funniest books of the year, and time has proven it to be the funniest of the decade. Weisbecker has the enviable ability to be hilarious and profound at the same time, with an imaginative ability that is stunning. There is also an unexpected sweetness to the book that appealed to me.. The plot --a physics professor is kidnapped and taken on a cosmic adventure by an obsessed, bizaaro narrator-- is deceptively simple yet completely cativating. Most marvelous are the unprecedented "time-travel foot-notes." If anyone knows how to get this book back into print where it belongs, I would be happy to order a carton or two.
Rating: Summary: Drugs & quantum mechanics Review: A great mixture: this way they both make sense.I have to agree with all the other reviews - one of the funniest books I have ever read. I was luck enough to find a second hand copy to give to a friend for his birthday. Everyone I know rates this book extremely highly. High time it was reprinted
Rating: Summary: Best Book to Read on a plane Review: I was Given this book by a good friend back in 1989, after my friend and I remised. I returned home with out even opening the book until the next week when I was on my way to COZEMEL with my old man. I opened the book and started to laugh (this is not like me) after people looked at me, I tried to explain myself so I ended up reading the book aloud on the plane it was great. Everyone around me was laughing and everyone who wasn't was wondering what was going on up there. Great Book !! The Author did a great job on his back ground research I just hpoe he had as much fun writing it as I did reading it. PS I lent the book to my father he lent it to a friend and so on, so now I don't have a copy YET !!!.
Rating: Summary: I have read this Book 7 times so far....a must read. Review: Think Vonnegut at his best, writing about armed rebellion, drug smuggling, and an underlying philosophy of life based on a engaging study of Quantum Physics, and you have COSMIC BANDITOS. I had stolen this book from a friend and held it for 10 years before returning it out of guilt. Everyone who I had loaned it to has, honestly, called it the best book they have ever read.
Rating: Summary: Quantum Revolution meets the War on Drugs! Review: STEAL THIS BOOK! This is a must read for anyone interested in physics, philosophy or recreational drug-use. It is a unique statement about the ontological implications of quantum mechanics and relativity theory. You'll love this book if you can find it. I used to own a copy of this book but it was stolen! If anybody knows where I can get a new copy please let me know!
Rating: Summary: Steal or Borrow this book now!!!!! Review: You must read this book. Your life depends on it. I read it in one sitting, and you will too. I laughed till I was crying. In addition, the book is very insightful. Read it!!!!! (but you must steal or borrow it--see page 113).
