Summary: Not Worth It
Review: Most of this book is a paragraph-by-paragraph summarization of the story so far (for books 1-4), followed by specualtion and "questions" for each section. Most of these questions can be answered by anyone who has read all four books. The "Restricted Section" at the end proposes a number of preposterous theories. Don't bother with this book. If you can't wait...for Order of the Phoenix, reread volumes 1-4 of the Harry Potter series.

Summary: The True Revealer
Review: If you shop around for books on the Harry Potter series, you will find information on the names, creatures, classes, and places used in the book. This guide, however, provides an analysis of the mysteries within the novels in adittion to providing interesting facts. It points out all the subtle hints and guides that JKR so cleverly places in the tale. Using details from the book and information released by the author herself, Galadriel Waters provides us with the questions we need to be asking ourselves as we read the series. It even includes a restricted section containing theories as to what will happen later on and even as to how it will all end. This book is especially useful for those who have not yet read, or are still reading the series, as it does not reveal anything in advanced, but helps the reader solve the mystery him/herself.

Overall an amazing read, a real guide, and well worth the price.

Summary: Learn MANY Things
Review: Although I already knew most of the things they told me in this book, I still picked up a lot. The author of this book did a great job picking up clues and running bits along with small details J.K. herself put in that are so small, I doubt anyone would have picked them up the first few times reading them.

Summary: THE BEST!!
Review: THE BEST IN THE WORLD!! This is one of the BEST books I've ever read. It's the next best thing to Harry Potter. It has shows many guidelines and clues to future books!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Superb Training!
Review: A great training manual for spotting a lot of JKR's more subtle hints and clues. Not a huge amount of revelations for book five, but definitely helps you learn to spot important clues to the whole septology. Well worth purchase price.

Summary: BLOODY AMAZING.
Review: Ok, so I'm not British, but I can still say 'bloody'. This book is so cool. I'm only on the second section of it, but already it has my attention There are sooo many things that you overlook even in the first book...like a possible sibling relationship between two unexpected people? It's really great, someone get it. It's kind of long, but it's worth every minute!

Summary: A Little Overboard, but still ALOT of fun!!
Review: I started reading the Harry Potter books a few months ago and couldn't believe how hooked I became on them! Naturally while trying to kill time while #5 comes out, I began to look around for other books related to the story. The Ultimate Unofficial Guide to the Mysteries of Harry Potter caught my eye!! I've never been able to stand surprises, so any insight they could give into the story was more than welcomed.

Naturally like any book that is entirely devoted to one subject, the authors went overboard in pointing some things out to you. It was interesting though to see how many times JK Rowling had repeated herself in different ways throughout the 4 books and to wonder what those clues may mean....!! All in all it was a very entertaining read and I can't wait to find out if their predictions are correct!!!

Summary: Okay book, but too many unanswered questions
Review: (I would really give this book a 3.5, but there are no half stars.) While this book did have some interesting theories about the mysteries surrounding the Harry Potter septology, the one thing I didn't like about it was that the authors asked a lot of questions, but never answered them! Also, some of the secrets divulged were things I already read about on websites devoted to the HP books. This is not to say that this book is not worth reading. Quite the contrary, this book is easy to read and a handy companion for the HP books. If you are looking for a deeper literary interpretation of the HP books this is not the book for you. But if you want a fun companion guide to the HP septology, this is a great book to have. I would say that this would make a great gift for kids (5th grade & higher) or adults who love the HP books.

Summary: great despite its flaws
Review: I won't rehash what has been said in other reviews too much but even though I am rating this book pretty highly, I want to point out the few things that bothered me. First let me say that if you love Harry Potter, you will enjoy this book and I recommend it. However some things bothered me. Sometimes they go way overboard in reading into every detail. Sometimes details are just there to add color. Also they have this really insane theory involving Lupin and James Potter. I won't reveal it but it's really dumb. Lastly, this may seem picky to some but I feel like if a book is going to be published it should be as grammatically correct as possible. This book had a lot of glaring errors that as a copyeditor drove me a little batty. But overlook those things because you will probably learn some new things and it will help keep you excited about the fifth book.

Summary: A Marvelous Manual for Harry Potter Sleuths
Review: This is a careful, thought-provoking work that is evidence of the time and effort that went into into its creation. Readers are given a list of J. K. Rowling clue patterns at the very begining of the book which are thoroughly explained. These clue patterns are then applied chapter-by-chapter to all four of the Harry Potter books. Readers are not given answers as much as they are encouraged to apply the clue patterns and make assessments for themselves.
I do, however, have several quibbles with this book. Some of the predictions are clearly contradicted by the author's own evidence in canon. In addition, it is apparent that certain characters hold a special place in the author's heart. I think this might unduly influence her perceptions and focus. There is also a bit of a problem with grammar and usage. In spite of these objections, I feel the book is well worth the cost and will serve any fan of the series as a valuable guidebook.
