Rating: Summary: Ten Times Better Than The Movie!!! Review: The book is about a million times better than the movie! If you have seen the movie, and didn't like it (like me) then read the book cause it's waaaay better described. The story flows beautifully and the action never quits!
MUST READ!!!
Rating: Summary: Good movie, good book Review: This is less a review of the book than a commentary on the comparison of book and movie. A lot of people think the book is a lot better than the movie, but I think that's an unfair judgement. You can't compare movies and books! They each have different strengths and weaknesses. The movie was great, but if the novel followed the movie, it would be a boring, simplistic book. The book was great, but if the movie was absolutely faihtful to the book, it would have been an extremely long, boring, and confusing movie. You have to understand that books and movies are two very dissimilar media that should not be compared. Books provide insight into characters' feelings and motivations, while movies can't really do that and be exciting at the same time. There are just some things that are hard or impossible to do in a movie that are easy to do in a book. Judge movies and their books separately, because they have different purposes and are completely different art forms. The fact that someone enjoyed one more than the other doesn't mean one is BETTER than the other. A movie-lover would like the movie more, and a book-lover would like the book more. Keep this in mind before you say one is better than the other
Rating: Summary: An exciting ride through the theme park from hell! Review: The truly sensational book that keeps you on edge through the whole ride. The suspense of this novel is that of nothing that I have ever seen. Chricton is truly the master
of drawing a mental image of the dinosaurs in our times.
Rating: Summary: Great book. The triumph of my reading life. Review: I thought that this book was the best dinosaur book I've ever read. Maybe one of the best books period
Rating: Summary: The book is a million times better than the movie! Review: Who needs Spielberg! Crichton's skill as a writer creates within our heads the whole gamut - the set, the atmosphere, the tension between characters. Plus, its kinda exciting the way our brains goes "Whhaaa ..?" when we read about the nonsense that makes sense (ie the chaos theory) and of all things, a mosquito trapped in amber which has penetrated the hide of a T Rex (the audacity of the zinger!) Crichton's scientific verbatim is highly compelling - because of him, I have decided not to search for the cure for cancer, but build Disneyland the second (actually it would be fifth but who's counting?) THAT's how deep this book gets to you. The problem with the movie is, its taken literally at face value - we lose all the social comentary, the philosophical wham and the insidiously technical way Crichton's ideas fall dead-center into you brain, and locks itself there forever
Rating: Summary: Great book of chilling survival Review: 6 Guests invited to a theme park filled with geneticly createddinosuars. Once they escape their cages the guests have to relly ontheir wits in a fight to survive!
Rating: Summary: An exciting ride as man tries to control nature but fails... Review: Crichton always tells a good story, and JP is no different.
The ideas and energy flow the whole way, it's worth the night's
sleep you'll lose. Though the character development is a bit weak, this
is a fun book with much more depth than the visually enticing
film. Recommended for summer reading on the beach.
Rating: Summary: I love this book! Review: The book is the best. If this were possible I would have thought Jurassic Park actually was in existence
Rating: Summary: Michael Crichton could take me to Jurassic Park! Review: I love the way Chricton makes me believe that Jurassic Park could exist if only there was no chaos theory
Rating: Summary: A book that needs no introduction Review: Has to be the best fiction work ever. Although impossible (DNA lasts less than 100 million years before it completely decays and dinosaurs have been gone 250 million years) but it is a great story anyway
