Summary: Crichton formula still doesn't work
Review: Maybe I expect too much.

All of the Crichton books I've read have begun with a gripping scientific concept which serves as the anchor for the first half of the book. An anchor which Crichton cuts loose halfway through in order to make room for a couple of contrived chase scenes.

Maybe Crichton has never been able to write books, but only mass-market screenplays. Unfortunately, the movie was even worse!

Summary: I LOVED THIS BOOK
Review: This was the best book I ever read. It was very gripping and suspenceful. I read the book in in 4 days. I thought it was a whole lot better than the movie.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: This book is very exciting... full of suspense.
Review: This book takes place on a deserted island. Isla Nublar. Something is on there that keeps escaping. Something that goes onto another island and keeps on ripping the faces off of little babies, making their mothers cry and ache with pain. Something scientists can't explain.

Summary: The absolute best book on the face of the earth!!!!!!!!!!
Review: I loved this book! It looks like 95% of the people who reviewed it liked it. This booming book is all about a park with dinosaurs. When the power goes out you are the indangered species.Im 15 years old and it pulled me in for hours on end. Excellent job Michael Crichton, I salute you!

Summary: The book was great and the suspense was awesome.
Review: Jurrasic Park is a good book. It's about some people who go to an island off the coast of Costa Rica. The island has dinosaurs on it that get loose. The people have to get off the island or die. The good thing about the book is that it's unpredictable . The bad thing about it is that it prolongs the suspense in parts in the story. Other than that it is a great book.

Summary: An absolute thrill ride from start to finish!!
Review: Anybody who is a fan of techno-thrillers must read this book! Crichton puts on a good show for the millions of fans he has around the world with this great novel. I saw the movie first, and if you were like me and thought that the movie was excellent, you should really read this book! Crichton fills this book with horror, action, suspense, and imagination. He also fills it with his personal ideas through the character of Ian Malcolm. His ideas of the dinosaurs are clever and for the most part accurate. Not everybody can come up with a good theory on the behavior of dinosaurs, and I think Crichton took that challenge head on and succeeded! His personal view on the behavior of the velociraptors in the book is as close as anybody can get with the limited information that the world has on dinosaurs. This book is fascinating through and through and I found it hard to put it down, which I believe that you will do also. If you like thrillers or suspense novels, or just a good book to read, I suggest you pick up this page-turner and see for yourselves how imaginative this book truly is. I am sure you will find that this book is as good as I say it is. But don't take my word for it, see for yourselves! This book was, and still is, an absolute thrill ride from start to finish.

Summary: The Ultimate Dinosaur/Thriller Book
Review: If you have ever had a fascination with dinosaurs anywhere along the line of your life, then you will love this book. I saw the movie first, and I was impressed. When I read the book about 4 months later, I was blown away. The movie left out some sequences that would have been just incredible for the movie!!!!!! This book is a fine example of creativity and knowledge in a field. This book made me a Crichton fan. No one has ever used such detail in describing a dinosaur in a work of fiction that I have read (and I've read a lot of 'em). I can't wait for a follow-up to the Lost World!

Summary: Educational and simply astounding!
Review: Any fan of techno-thrillers HAS to read this novel. The first half is all education and facts, while the second half is nonstop suspense! Absolutely not boring at all. I've been a fan of Micheal since the late-1960s when Andromeda Strain was published. This book does not dissapoint me at all.Great writing!

Summary: Quite intelligent reading with some suspence.
Review: I thought the book was rather good. The plot and the theory of the DNA in amber was something that never would have crossed my mind. Although I'm not exactly a type of person who is crazy about dinosaurs or even science at all but the novel makes you think about it and can actually push you toward getting interested which is a good quality in books in some cases. It was intelligent and it kept me turning the pages until I was done. The way the author wrote it was easy for me to follow. The plot was good and suspenceful and the book fit me very well since I'm a thriller/mystery/suspence type of person. Although I'm thirteen when I read and finished it (I read a whole lot of books that are out of my seventh grade reading level sometimes) I think it's good for young kids who can really READ but still in the range of older readers. I thought the movie was good but not exactly sticking too much detail from the book. I would recommend this book to those who like a good page turner for science and dinosaurs. :-)

Summary: OUTSTANDING!
Review: This book is an excellent book for keeping you up at night! Action and suspense throughout. I read it five years ago and still consider it the best book I've ever read. Much better than the movie, which is saying a lot considering I thoroughly enjoyed the film.
