Summary: A modern parable with surprising depth
Review: Anyone who enjoys books filled with suspense, and has had some past aspirations for working with large, unpredictable animals should definitely read this book. It opens up a world of twisted imagination and offers the reader vivid characters who provide witty and often meaningful dialogue. For those who desire a quick fix of fear, yet also yearn for the powerful characteristics of a masterpiece, Jurassic Park is the book for you.

Summary: One of the best Michael Crichton books ever!
Review: In comparing this book to others in the same genre it is difficult to not find it spectacular. The characters are well developed, the story is plausable to the genre and the era it is set in, and this book has a message. The author tells a story that has meaning down to this day. What better way for a book to last if it can be used and enjoyed for generations? Superb work by Crichton and should be considered one of the greatest sci-fi books of our lifetime.

Summary: Read it, the movie did NOT do it justice...
Review: I read this book at the age of 12, about two years after it was first published and about a year before it became mainstream. Crichton's impecable tact for detail and action made this quite possibly the best book I have ever read. It is very fast paced (I read it in 1 and 1/2 days, yeah I was 12 too) and VERY hard to put down. The charecters, especially Ian Malcolm, were incredibly designed and MADE the book. Crichton has put out his best book ever, even beating Andromeda Strain. I HIGHLY recomend reading it.

Summary: IT SIMPLY ROCKS!
Review: This book has one of the most original plots ever! There is no nuclear terrorists, no space invasions, nothing like that. This plot is actually original! I loved it! The action scenes are great. The characters are as real as you and me, and it is stuffed with suspense to the point of bursting! Even if you already saw the movie, read Jurassic Park! It is different enough that you won't guess everything before it happens. The ending is COMPLETELY different. The opening chapters with the dinosaur attacks hooked me! READ THIS NOW!

Summary: So fascinating when I read it ten years ago
Review: Jurassic Park is one of the most exciting books I have ever read. It is the book that re invigorated my love of reading. I read it a few years before the movie so I didn't know what to expect. Upon reading it I was fascinated with his opening on bio-genetics and then awestruck with the way the story unfolded. As a kid who loved dinosaurs, it was fantastic to see them in this setting. I thought about how neat it would be if this world really did exist and I imagined myself in there with the characters. I thank Crichton for all his fantastic books!

Summary: A thriller and a credit to science fiction
Review: Michael Crichton does what so few science fiction authors have done in this day and age. By taking an age old scientific fact such as cloning, and combining it with a not too far off concept, then backing it up with plausible research, believable characters and a riveting plot, Michael Chrichton has created a masterpiece truly worthy of its genre.

Summary: I'm Ashamed
Review: Yes, I'm ashamed, because I made the single most common, simple, consumer flaw. I saw the movie, and then I read the book. Obviously, the first contradiction I noticed was that of John Hammond. I expected a sweet old man with a beard and two grandkids, a Santa Clause who promised the child his own T-Rex for a pet. Then I had the honor of meeting Crichton's Hammond, a much more realistic obsessive who was just as brilliant as he was cold. While I did enjoy the movie and Hollywood's perspective of the book, I far more enjoyed the book without the Hollywood corruption or endings. One of the biggest strength's of the book is Crichton's ability to not only convey the situation, but to include every small detail. The time he takes in researching his subject pays off greatly, probably the number one reason he's moved up the #2 slot on my top five picks for reading (a personal hobby). Right down to how they repair the broken fences, the book took a risk in attempting to cover every possible field involved, and it paid off greatly.

Summary: ReallyGood Book
Review: Jrassic Park is a very good book. One of Michael Crichton's best works. This book has a loy of excitment, action, and mystery. The attacks start and Jonh Hammond [the guy who made th park] is trying to cover them up but then he can't anymore because people are finding out. He needs people to come down to the park to give their personal thoughts about it. Donald Gennaro the lawyer comes down to see it. Alan Grant, Ellie Sattler, and Ian Malcome comes down to the island. I would recondmend this book to someone who likes excitement and action.

Summary: Jurassic Park (Michael Crichton)
Review: If you enjoyed the hit movie, then you will love the book. Scientists have found a way to recreated dinosaurs and they make an amusement park containing the beasts! The owner of the park invites guests down to the island, and everything goes as planned--until the main compute programmer turns off the island's power! Crichton's insight into theories are great, and the action is intense! This book is impossible to put down; it also blows the movie clear out of the water. I have the original paperback, but I am planning on getting a hardcover version. Dinosaur fan or not, this book is for you.
