Rating: Summary: Excellent! Review: This could be Michael Crichton's best book ever. The story was well thought out and so were the characters. If you don't know yet, it's basically about a visit to an island where dinosaurs have been "recreated", but something goes wrong. I really enjoyed it. Also, I suggest that you read this before you see the movie.
Rating: Summary: Very deceloped characters and an awesomely exting read Review: I saw the movie and I loved it and then I read the book and found it so much more developed with realistic characters and a real plot. It is definetly better than the movie and as usual Crichton keeps you at the edge of your seat as you might say. The story starts with an old rich and arrogant(not the very nice sweet old grandpa he plays in the movie) buissnes man named Hammond gathers scientits and promises to payment to take a shot at the impossible, to recreate an extinct species......To clone dinosaurs, and put them in high secruity amuesment park Jurassic Park. A team of scientist Ian Malcom the mathematician, Alan Grant the paleontologist, and others are hired also under high pay to check out the park and tell if the park is safe etc. And then convince the stuborn lawyers of Hammond of there opinion. Once there they are facinated, but after a while things start to go terribly wrong.............
Rating: Summary: Michael Crichton Review: When I read words from Michael Crichton, I can visualize them all. I imagine visually the entire story. His stories are technical and flowing. This book is highly recommended. I won't bother to tell you about the book because you should read without knowing to make it more exciting. This book is for techincal thinkers who can visualize.
Rating: Summary: Crichton's Best! Review: I absolutely loved this book! I read it in two days. It had tons of action and it also had an intellectual part to it that the movie did not have. The beginning of it was really great and i learned a little about costa rica. There were also many other things that happened in the book that never happened in the movie. The ending was also different too. Ian Malcom's quips and witty remark's were very entertaining and humorous. the book is 10 times better than the movie.
Rating: Summary: Book Is one of Chrichton's best! Review: Do you like dinosaurs lots of action and most of all Michael Chrichton? If you do pick up this book. Five million people own this book and you should be one of them. But there is only one drawback. DNA and genetics are talked about a lot in this book which makes it slow at times. This is not a bad book at all if you can handle those times. You can also read it over again and it doesn't get boring. Though it is good I would take the movie over the book anyday though.Peace out my homeboyz! West Coast is the Best C!oast
Rating: Summary: One of my favourite books Review: What a book i loved it my second favourite next to Rainbow Six by Tom Clancy. I tore throught hat book so quick it was that good. you read twice as fast and it doesn't exactly follow the movie. I think it's better then the movie. Any way read this book it's great.
Rating: Summary: Even as a slow reader, I still couldn't put it down! Review: Well, it took almost 7 years, but I finally gave into the hype and bought JP and devoured it (no pun intended) in a matter of days. Nearly all books are better than their movie-counterparts, but very few are as different from their movie-counterparts as this one. It took Spielberg a year or two to make the movie. But I made a ten-times better movie within a week or two by reading this book and conjuring up images no special effects studio could ever muster. And actually, I'm kinda glad the movie was so different. Because when reading the book, I was totally clueless as to what was going to happen next. Who gets killed and eaten? How does Grant and the kids get out of this dilemma? And so on... But the most ingenious part of this novel is the risk that Mr. Crichton takes at the end of the book, a risk that very few writers are ever courageous enough to take: he ends the book just as the reader is begging for more.
Rating: Summary: Really Great! Review: Jurassic Park was one of most interesting, and fantastic novels that I ever read. The reason that I started to read this book was because I liked to read about dinosaurs. I knew it would be good story, but I never thought that it would be great! One of the parts that I liked was when dinosaurs started to get out and cause the damage in Jurassic Park. It was described very well(especially T-rex) and it gave chills. I really recommand this book to everyone that reads my review.
Rating: Summary: One of my favorite books Review: I saw the movie 'Jurassic Park' when I was about ten years old and I liked it, I guess, but I mean, I was TEN, I didn't really understand all the scientific stuff. Just a few months ago, I read the book and I absolutely LOVED it! At first, I was wary about reading it, it had a lot of techno science talk in it which I thought I wouldn't understand, but I did get the basic idea and I thought the book was fantastic! It is suspensful and really enjoyable. I recommended it to my friends, but they were like "Why would you want to read THAT?" (I'm a thirteen-year-old girl and they were like...whatEVER!) But I really really liked it. I love the movie too, but the book is more thrilling, if you ask me. I don't see how anyone could not like the movie though and refuse to read the book afterward. The movie was excellent too.
Rating: Summary: Awesome Review: Another hi-tech sci-fi novel by Mr. Crichton. He's at his best in this one.-
