Summary: You'll be glued to the pages
Review: I read this book late at night with the lights mostly out by the light of the moon coming in through my bedroom window. After going to bed each time I read another part, I always had nitemares about dinosaus and stuff. It was a real thriller, much better then the movie I'd say even though the movie was good too. The general idea of the book is quite a hook too for those who have not read it or seen the movie: dinosaur DNA is extracted from ancient mosquito's that are preserved in amber that would have bitten the dinosaurs whenever it was that they were here on earth, and they are cloned. A park is opened on a remote Atlantic island where they are enclosed and studied by a team of scientists. Although there is quit a lot of security, the island goes mad when a storm comes and the electric fences shut down while a team is touring. Quite a thriller, and a cliffhanger that is a must read.

Summary: Book nearly topped the movie.
Review: I was fortunate enough to read the book two years after the movie came out. I found the book to be a page turner. The book differed from the movie which added to the excitement of reading the book. The ending to the book is the best part of the book because it differs from the movie. Regardless of what you thought of the movie, the book is a must read for everyone.

Summary: Wow
Review: My title says it all, doesn't it? This is an absolutely stunning book showing very thoughtful authoring. The movie doesn't compare. If you saw the movie and read the book, you'd know what I was talking about. The author displays his incredible word usage and story-telling ability in this masterpiece. Gets a bit gory at times, but overall a very good book. Buy it if you haven't already.

Summary: sick with it
Review: It is exciting and it keeps you on the edge of the book the whole time. This book is about a man named John Hammond who finds some dinosaur DNA. Then he uses that DNA to clone dinosaurs in an island close to Costa Rica, and he calls it Jurassic Park. Then Dr. Hammond invites a group of people to review his new amusement park when all of a sudden things go wrong. I really enjoyed this book because it was interesting.

Summary: INCREDIBLE!
Review: INCREDIBLE! I've read this book a number of times, and it never gets boring or monotonous. Crichton draws you into his story. I literally could not put this book down. I read it almost non stop. If you thought the movie was good, the book will blow you away. This novel great!

Summary: it's a good book
Review: This is indeed an exciting and suspenseful book. There is a great amount of detail in the book. Sometimes the detail us unnecessary to the point of becoming boring, but over all it gave the book an addictive allure that was hard to put down. Now, I assuming that most of you who are interested is reading the book Jurassic Park have seen the movie Jurassic Park. In most cases the book is far better then the movie, as the movies is made to be exciting and have good special effects while the book ha a good plot. In this case the movie was quite good. The movie was more for children while the book is more properly suited for mature readers. Obviously, when the book was made into a movie some changes were made. What I noticed most were the change made to the character. For example John Hammond is not the misguided loving grandfather that he is in Jurassic Park the movie. Instead he is a stubborn man blinded by greed. "The goal here is to make money. Lots of money." said Hammond. Ironically n the movie the lawyer Gennaro is a greed corporate attorney and Hammond is the loveable grandfather. In the book Gennaro is the honest man while Hammond is the greedy one. Over all it is a good book with a good deal of action and a large amount of detail.

Summary: even better than the movie
Review: The movie has a dramatic ending and a beautiful musical score, but the book contains scientific details that add a note of realism to the story.

Summary: Very Entertaining Read With Suspence and Excitement!!!
Review: I read this book when it first came out, long before the movie was released. I was disappointed in the movie because I felt the book was much more discriptive. It is still one of my favorite books and I would recommend it to anyone. I'm not sure how a person would like the book if they'd already seen the movie. The plots are similar in both the movie and the book, but the book adds more suspence and a totally different ending.

Having been a dinosaur lover as a child I eagerly picked up this book and didn't stop reading it until I was finished. It is a captivating tale that portrays a dinosaur theme park that has actual live dinosaurs cloned from dinosaur DNA. In the book the character Hammond is much different than in the movie.

Michael Crichton is wonderful at building the suspence. All I can suggest is that you read it.

Summary: Chaos Theory Turns Dino
Review: I really enjoyed this book and thought it to be one of Crichton's best. His scientific knowledge and imagination takes you on another wild ride through the Jurrasic age when dinosaurs lived. Throwing in Ian Malcom's chaos theory really did wonders for the mind. I loved this book and it's compelling so I reccommend it to others as a must read book
